Red Sparrow is a thriller starring Jennifer Lawrence, as a Russian intelligence officer who seduces the enemies of the state. Definitely, this is not for children or adolescents: it is full of graphic and bloody violence, which includes attempts of rape, murder, horrible corpses, fights, blows and disturbing scenes of torture.

Sexual content is also mature, with scenes of graphic sex, topless women and full frontal male nudity, as well as many sexual conversations and innuendo. The language is not frequent, but it is quite strong, with uses of "fuck", "shit", "pussy" and more. Most of the characters smoke and drink socially, and one is amazingly drunk.

The film is directed by The film is directed by Francis Lawrence, director with a high experience in the world of the "video clip" and with high budget films. After several videomusicales with artists of the taya of Jenifer Lopes, Britney Spears or the group Green Day, Lawrence debuted in the show cinema with the action and fantasy film Constantine (2005), an adaptation of a comic about a man who has the gift of recognizing the angels and demons that populate the earth. In it Keanu Reeves and Rachel Weisz performed a success that collected more than 300 million dollars across the world. His next work was another great success, I Am Legend (2007), a film that adapts a classic work of science fiction that recreates a post-apocalyptic environment where mutant creatures appear at night thirsty for human blood. It became one of the highest grossing films of the year, collected no less than 460 million dollars worldwide. After this work, he continued with the direction of video clips and several chapters for the science fiction series "Kings" (2009). Two years later, Lawrence directed the romantic drama Water for Elephants (2011), an adaptation of Sara Gruen's acclaimed bestseller of the same name, where a love story is presented in a traveling circus during the 1930s during the Great Depression. After this title, he directed a video clip for Beyoncé, the fantasy tv-movie "Gotham" (2012) and the pilot episode of the series "Touch" (2012), starring Kiefer Sutherland. A year later he directed the hit The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2012), the second installment of the youth saga of science fiction and adventure "The Hunger Games". He also directed the following two installments, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 (2014) and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 (2015), all including the first installment were starring Jennifer Lawrence and are based on the Juvenile science fiction trilogy written by Suzanne Collins.
