I think all of us who watched this great series called Death note, had the same internal debate. Who was the good guy, L or Kira? Who was right? Which of the two was true justice?

Creo que todos los que vimos esta gran serie llamada Death note, tuvimos el mismo debate interno. ¿Quién era el bueno, L o Kira? ¿Quién tenía razón? ¿Quién de los dos era la verdadera justicia?

L and Kira are two much-loved and beloved characters in the series, but in the end we all come down on one side or the other. On one side, there are those who believe that it is not fair that a single person decides who deserves to live and who does not. That it is not valid for someone to play god, no matter how well-intentioned they may be.

L y Kira son dos personajes muy queridos y amados de la serie, pero al final todos nos volcamos por un bando u otro. Por un lado, están los que creen que no es justo que una sola persona decida quiénes merecen vivir y quienes no. Que no es válido que alguien juegue a ser dios, por buenas intenciones que tenga.

On the other hand, there are those who endorse and support Kira's actions. Defending the position that the end justifies the means. Because the reality is that since Light appeared with his notebook, the crime rate has decreased significantly worldwide.

Por otro lado, están los que avalan y apoyan el accionar de Kira. Defendiendo la postura de que el fin justifica los medios. Porque la realidad es que desde que apareció Light con su cuaderno, la tasa de crímenes disminuyeron significativamente en todo el mundo.

Personally, even though I didn't always agree with him, I was always on Kira's team. I consider that there are many people who do not deserve to live. For example, those who murder (with intent to do so) and who rape. I would be very happy if someone with supernatural power would take them to hell itself.

En lo personal, a pesar de que no siempre estuve de acuerdo con él, siempre fui del equipo de Kira. Yo considero que hay muchas personas que no merecen vivir. Por ejemplo, aquellos que asesinan (con intenciones de hacerlo) y que violan. Me pondría muy contento si alguien con un poder sobrenatural se los llevara al mismísimo infierno.

Unfortunately, I live in a place where there is a lot of insecurity and it is very common to have a gun pointed at you to take your cell phone or your car. If I had the power to kill this scourge of society, I would do it without any problem. I believe that those who are capable of threatening your life for a phone do not deserve to live. To the point that I celebrate when these scumbags die at the hands of a policeman.

Por desgracia, vivo en un lugar donde hay bastante inseguridad y es muy común que te apunten con un arma para quitarte el celular o el auto. Si yo tuviera el poder para matar a esta lacra de la sociedad, lo haría sin problemas. Considero que no merecen vivir aquellos que son capaces de amenazar tu vida por un teléfono. Al punto que celebro cuando estas basuras mueren a manos de un policía.

I believe that when it comes to the general good and the peace of society, the end justifies the means. For example, what is happening in El Salvador with its president Nayib Bukele. Since he became president, he has been following an idea and a philosophy that says: “the human rights of honest people are more important than those of criminals”. What he achieved with this is to go from being one of the most insecure countries to being one of the safest in America. We are not talking about Bukele ordering the shooting of criminals, but what he did do was to promote a “mano dura” (iron fist) policy. Being more hostile and strict against crime. To the point of receiving complaints and claims from international organizations for not respecting human rights.

Considero que cuando se trata del bien general y la paz de la sociedad, en fin justifica los medios. Por ejemplo, lo que pasa en El Salvador con su presidente Nayib Bukele. Él desde que es presidente sigue una idea y una filosofía que dice: “los derechos humanos de la gente honrada son más importantes que los de los delincuentes”. Lo que logró con esto es pasar de ser uno de los países más inseguros a ser de los más seguros de América. No estamos hablando que Bukele ordenó fusilar delincuentes, pero si lo que hizo fue promover una política de “mano dura”. Siendo más hostil y estricto contra la delincuencia. Al punto de recibir quejas y reclamos de organización internacionales por no respetar derechos humanos.

In conclusion, for the most part, I saw Kira as the good guy in the series. I think he made the world a better and more peaceful place. And honestly, I was a bit saddened by his ending. For me, it ended the series in a very bitter way. I didn't like the pathetic and humiliating way he died. I was one of those who wanted Light to emerge victorious.

En conclusión, en la mayoría de ocasiones, vi a Kira como el bueno de la serie. Creo que él logró que el mundo fuera un lugar mejor y más pacífico. Y honestamente, me puso algo triste su final. Para mí, terminó la serie de una forma muy amarga. No me gustó la forma patética y humillante en la que murió. Yo era de los que quería que Light saliera victorioso.

I really want to watch this series again, but remembering the ending, I regret it. Still I can't downplay and discredit this great work.

Tengo muchas ganas de volver a ver esta serie, pero al recordar el final, me arrepiento. Aun así no puedo desmerecer y desprestigiar esta gran obra.

Hola, estoy de acuerdo contigo sobre la manera de hacer justicia cuando la delincuencia se apodera de manera criminal. Ahora bien, pues a mí me gustaba L por ser algo emo, no se me llamó más la atención que Kira jaja . Sería interesante que la Death note fuera manejada por personas idóneas y, como tú lo dices, a veces uno quiere tener ese poder porque realmente nos duele, que los delincuentes quieran hacer lo que les venga en ganas y eso nunca será aprobado por los que no tenemos esos instintos de maldad. Muy buen post, me gustó mucho tu pregunta, y no sé si L fue el bueno, pero fue mi personaje favorito. Gracias por compartir.

Yo soy #TeamL. Para mí Kira se salió por completo de control y se dejó cautivar por el lado oscuro a tal punto de ser capaz de hacer cosas atroces, incluso hacerle daño a su propia familia. Esa cara de modosito nunca me la tragué ni me cautivó su forma de ser.

Personas como él es mejor nunca conocerlas. Lo que si me gustó mucho leer fue tu opinión sobre la serie.

Al igual que tu, sólo la vi una vez y aunque es una de las mejores, no me quedan ganas de volver a verla. Gracias por compartir! 💕

It’s one of the most talked about anime because it’s very controversial. I also agree with you on why you chose Kira. I also don’t want a world where criminals reign power. I couldn’t remember the ending anymore but I also don’t want to relive the bitterness.

Saludos! Me parece un interesante análisis. Para mí, la serie no hay bandos buenos o malos, ya que ambas cosas están sujetas a la construcción de los valores humanos de acuerdo a cada quien. Sin embargo la justifica al igual que lo bueno y lo malo, es abstracta a los ojos de la sociedad, Kira hacia lo que la mayoría lógicamente haría si tuviese ese poder, pero al no estar "controlado, delimitado" y sobre todo, bajo el control de entes con la poder, entonces ya lo que hacía no se percibía como "bueno".

Sin embargo, buscar ser un nuevo dios, y crear un mundo, donde dictes la vida y la muerte, ya no hay tanta diferencia a la injusticia que vivimos hoy en día. Es un dilema bastante amplio pero interesante
