It's one of the most surreal scenes in the film. In this instance the set needed to be created. We couldn't go on location or borderline doc style like much of the rest of the film, set in the "normal, real" world.

We needed a long all white hallway and a hot tub filled with water, also surrounded in all white, large enough to seat four.
Logistically we landed on splitting the shooting of the scene in half.

The hallway, Spike the dog, and our main characters Abe, Jess, and Gerald were set up and shot in a warehouse.

Weeks later we went on location to a hot tub already filled with water, and we built out the other half of the set around that, all white.

We actually used the same set material for both halves, which ended up saving on production costs.

Everyone did their job. Smooth group moves, good attitudes.
Probably the hardest part of the entire thing (besides logistics and scheduling) was getting our sweet pup Spike the dog to act for us, without pushing him or stressing him. He too had a great attitude.

Also, I have to say "well done" to our main production sound mixer, who dove into some acting and put up with some serious face makeup.
Cheers to teamwork.
