Dreamscape is a 1984 American science fiction action-adventure horror film directed by Joseph Ruben from a story by David Loughery, with Chuck Russell, Loughery, and Ruben co-writing. It stars Dennis Quaid, Kate Capshaw, Max von Sydow, Christopher Plummer and David Patrick Kelly.

It's one of the most surreal scenes in the film. In this instance the set needed to be created. We couldn't go on location or borderline doc style like much of the rest of the film, set in the "normal, real" world. We needed a long all white hallway and a hot tub filled with water, also surrounded in all white, large enough to seat four. Logistically we landed on splitting the shooting of the scene in half.
