Oldboy (2003) by Chan-wook Park (REVIEW)

I have watched a lot of movies, but I think this movie got me good. With certainty I can say that this movie is sick, twisted and incredible at the same time. It has the sickest story that has been ever recorded on a movie tape, painful, experience, unhuman characters and intense drama that will absorb your attention very quickly.

Even though the movie is two hours, you won’t find it boring or swampy, it will keep you entertained till the end and the ending is just another masterpiece. I am sure that the ending of this movie you will carry it forever, you will carry the dark and unethical story with you for a very long time and you won’t be able to find a similar movie that will be as good as “Oldboy”.

“Oldboy” is directed by Chan-wook Park in 2003 and it is the original movie, ten years later, the director Spike Lee will create a remake of the Japanese “Oldboy”, to be honest I haven’t seen that movie yet, but I am pretty sure that it won’t be as good as the one from 2003, it has low rating on IMDB that support my opinion about it.

The movie “Oldboy” from 2003 is a movie about a guy who has been kidnaped and imprisoned for fifteen years, once he is released from the prison, he will have to find his captor in five days to understand why he end up in that prison.

As the story evolves more and more you will be able to understand the reason, but you won’t be able to find the reason for his kidnapping until the end and this is why I like it, you can’t predict how it will end, you can try as much as you can but it will leave you with your mouth wide open, cause it will end on a way that not even a one single human being can guess it. The movie got a lot of rewards, 38 wins and 18 nominations that can tell you that this movie is a masterpiece and you need to find time and watch it.
