Mucho he hablado de mis series super favoritas, The Originals y The Vampire Diaries, aunque siempre tengo algo que agregar a mis opiniones sobre ellas, también está el caso de Riverdale, The Sandman, o recientemente American Horror Story. Pero, particularmente, hay una serie que amo con locura y con pasión, The Witcher, una serie que me vi en un día estando enferma (creo que tenía COVID o una gripe muy fuerte que no duró mucho) Eso es importante, ya que, al estar enferma, no tenía anda que hacer y pude dedicarme todo el día ver a detalle cada episodio de esta serie. Debo decir que fue MUCHA información, para una persona que no conocía nada de la Saga de Geralt de Rivia.

I've talked a lot about my super favorite series, The Originals and The Vampire Diaries, although I always have something to add to my opinions about them, there is also the case of Riverdale, The Sandman, or recently American Horror Story. But, particularly, there is a series that I love with madness and passion, The Witcher, a series that I watched in one day when I was sick (I think I had COVID or a very strong flu that did not last long). That is important, because, being sick, I had nothing to do and I could dedicate the whole day to watch in detail every episode of this series. I must say that it was a LOT of information, for a person who knew nothing about the Geralt of Rivia Saga.

The Witcher es una serie que me encanta porque es de fantasía oscura, la cual existe en un universo bastante antiguo, como en una época medieval. Al mismo tiempo me recuerda a American Horror Story, por esos saltos de tiempo violentos que se presentan en cada capítulo, donde no sabemos cuál es el presente, el futuro o el paso, cosa que me atrapó desde un principio. Básicamente, The Witcher es una serie enfocada en el brujo Geralt de Rivia y la princesa Cirilla de Cintra, dos personas unidas por el destino. La primera temporada narra, en parte, la vida de Geralt en su labor de cazador de monstruos, como conoció a todas las personas importantes en la serie, a Jaskier (uno de los mejores personajes sin duda), como llego a convertirse en el destino de Ciri y también, como llegó a reencontrarse con ella. Al mismo tiempo, la serie narra como Ciri debe huir de su tierra, ya que es atacada, corre pro todas partes, es atrapada y se da cuenta de mucho, para al final, encontrarse con su destino.

The Witcher is a series that I love because it is a dark fantasy series, which exists in a fairly ancient universe, like in medieval times. At the same time it reminds me of American Horror Story, because of those violent time jumps that are presented in each chapter, where we don't know which is the present, the future or the passage, something that caught me from the beginning. Basically, The Witcher is a series focused on the witcher Geralt of Rivia and Princess Cirilla of Cintra, two people united by destiny. The first season narrates, in part, the life of Geralt in his work as a monster hunter, how he met all the important people in the series, Jaskier (one of the best characters without a doubt), how he came to become Ciri's destiny and also, how he came to be reunited with her. At the same time, the series narrates how Ciri must flee from her land, as she is attacked, runs everywhere, is caught and realizes a lot, to finally meet her destiny.

Pero la serie no nada más narra el destino de Geralt y de Ciri, sino también un personaje super importante como lo es Yennefer de Vengerberg, una hechicera bastante poderosa, la cual en el pasado fue humillada por estar deforme y también por ser parte Elfa. Yennefer paga un precio importante para ser hermosa y que nadie se burle de ella, su fertilidad, pero con los años se arrepiente y decide recuperarla, es por ello que conoce a Geralt y a Jaskier. Yennefer y Geralt comienzan algo que no pasa más allá del acto carnal, pero también terminan conectándose, porque Geralt pide un deseo, y es que sus caminos siempre estén unidos. Es así como Yennfer se une a estas líneas temporales violentas. Además, hay personajes importantes como, Cahir, Tissaia de Vries, Istredd, Fringilla Vigo, Triss Merigold y Vilgefortz.

Decir que Geralt, Cirila y Yennefer están conectados es fácil, pero unirlos es el real problema, debido a que el mundo en el que se encuentran está en una guerra eterna, los Nilfgaardianos son feroces y buscan a Ciri a como de lugar. Este imperio es potente y es el principal responsable de toda la lucha que hay en el Continente. En esta primera temporada no nos indican el porqué de la insitencia de Nilfgard, pero ya en la segunda sabemos el porqué y, aunque no corresponde con esta reseña, les adelanto que está bueno el motivo. Además, en la serie nos presentan un conjunto de personajes, monstruos, brujo, hechiceros y elfos impresionantes, no puedes aburrirte nunca, porque hasta el más normal como Jaskier puede hacerte sonreír.

To say that Geralt, Cirila and Yennefer are connected is easy, but bringing them together is the real problem, due to the fact that the world they are in is in an eternal war, the Nilfgaardians are fierce and seek Ciri at any cost. This empire is powerful and is the main responsible for all the fighting in the Continent. In this first season we are not told the reason for Nilfgard's insistence, but in the second season we know why and, although it does not correspond to this review, I can tell you that the reason is good. Also, in the series we are introduced to a set of characters, monsters, warlock, wizards and elves impressive, you can never get bored, because even the most normal as Jaskier can make you smile.
