Es esa época del año donde todo es verde, rojo y está cubierto de luces. Hay muchas películas de navidad que me encantaba ver de pequeña, pero creo que mi favorita de todas era (sigue siendo) El Grinch.
No tengo idea de cuántas veces he visto esta película, demasiadas. Pero creo que aún así la historia inspirada en los cuentos de Dr. Seuss logra alegrarme con su bonita simpleza y ese espíritu navideño
It's that time of year where everything is green, red and covered in lights. There are many Christmas movies that I loved to watch as a child, but I think my favorite of all was (and still is) The Grinch.
I have no clue about how many times I've seen this movie, surely way too many. But I think that even still the story inspired by the tales of Dr. Seuss manages to cheer me up with its beautiful simplicity and that Christmas spirit

Sinopsis | Synopsis
Los Quién, habitantes afables de la pequeña Villaquién, se preparan para celebrar la navidad con toda la ilusión. La villa se ve desbordada de luces, juguetes, árboles de navidad, comida, villancicos y sobretodo, desborda alegría por el espíritu navideño. Los Quién son gente muy feliz, excepto por un solo habitante de la villa...
Grinch vive completamente aislado en la montaña más lejana. Es un ermitaño amargado que vive apartado de todos puesto que odia a la gente y todas las cosas en general, pero en especial odia la navidad. En su cueva no hay luces radiantes, no hay regalos ni decoración especial, sólo hay amargura.
Un día el Grinch conoce por accidente a la pequeña Cindy Lou Quién, una niña muy noble y risueña que decide acercarse a él a pesar de el gran rechazo que la gente de la villa siente por él. Nadie se le acerca excepto ella, quien descubre que detrás del mal humor constante hay algo más...
Pero a pesar de todo diferentes situaciones llevarán al Grinch a querer arruinar las fiestas de los despreciables Quién, ideando así un plan para robarse la navidad
The Who, affable inhabitants of the little Whoville, are preparing to celebrate Christmas with all the enthusiasm. The village is overflowing with lights, toys, Christmas trees, food, Christmas carols and, above all, it overflows with joy for the Christmas spirit. The Who are very happy people, except for one inhabitant of the village...
Grinch lives completely isolated on the farthest mountain. He is a bitter hermit who lives apart from everyone since he hates people and all things in general, but especially he hates Christmas. In his cave there are no radiant lights, no gifts or special decorations, there is only bitterness.
One day the Grinch accidentally meets a little girl called Cindy Lou Who, a very noble and cheerful girl who decides to approach him despite the great rejection that the people of the town feel for him. No one approaches him except for her, who discovers that behind the constant bad mood there is something more...
But despite everything, different situations will lead the Grinch to want to ruin the holidays of the despicable Who, and that makes him develop a plan to steal Christmas

Esta es una historia infantil creada en 1957 por Dr. Seuss, la cual estaba llena de rimas que hacían el cuento algo memorable pues las rimas son divertidas. Para esta adaptación del cine en el año 2000 el cambio está en que ampliaron un poco más la historia para que la trama fuera lo suficientemente larga para que fuera película. Eso es un cambio considerable pero bastante positivo puesto que no alteraron para nada la esencia del cuento sino que simplemente lo ampliaron, dieron un poco más de información que en realidad te permite comprender mejor a los personajes y sus motivaciones.
This is a children's story created in 1957 by Dr. Seuss which was full of rhymes that made the tale memorable because rhymes are fun. For this film adaptation in the 2000, the change was in the fact that they expanded the story a little more so that the plot was long enough to be a film. That is a considerable but quite positive change since they did not alter the essence of the story at all but simply expanded it, giving a little more information that actually allows you to better understand the characters and their motivations.
El conocer mejor a los personajes te permite también simpatizar más con ellos, conoces mejor su historia y te lleva a quererlos más. El Grinch no es tan malo así como los Quién no son tan buenos. El mensaje es que se debe ser tolerante y pensar en ponerte un poco en los zapatos de alguien más antes de juzgar. La película enseña valores importantes que considerando que es una película infantil me parece un mensaje bonito y necesario para los niños.
No es simplemente una película para entretener, también tiene un mensaje valioso.
Getting to know the characters better also allows you to sympathize with them more, you know their story better and that leads you to love them more. The Grinch isn't that bad after all just as the Who aren't that good. The message is that you should be tolerant and think about putting yourself in someone else's shoes before judging. The film teaches important values that, considering that it is a children's film, seems like a beautiful and necessary message for children.
It is not simply a movie to entertain, it also has a valuable message.
Por otro lado creo que todo el reparto de actores es maravilloso, desde la más joven de ellos hasta el mayor de todos hizo un trabajo excelente representando a cada personaje. Todos están llenos de talento. Pero por supuesto, el destacado es la leyenda Jim Carrey. Él tiene una magia que no es comparable con ningún otro actor, tiene un estilo histriónico único que apenas ves un segundo de él en la pantalla y sabes que va a hacer un gran papel
On the other hand, I think the entire cast of actors is wonderful, from the youngest to the oldest of them all, they did an excellent job representing each character. They are all full of talent. But of course, the standout is the legend himself, Jim Carrey. He has a magic that is not comparable with any other actor, he has a unique histrionic style that when you barely get to see a second of him on the screen, you already know that he is going to play a great role.

El guión está lleno de comedia ligera (por supuesto, es para niños), incluso incorpora algunas de las rimas de la historia original. Está escrito de una manera ejemplar para que sea entretenido de ver tanto para adultos como para niños, pues es que incluso a día de hoy puedo ver esta película y seguir disfrutándola como cuando era una pequeña niña.
Es ese tipo de películas que nunca llegas a aburrir y que además trae mucha nostalgia si la solías ver de pequeño alrededor de la misma época del año. Es una historia genial con personajes memorables que ganan un lugar especial en el corazón.
The script is full of light comedy (of course, it's for kids), even incorporating some of the rhymes from the original story. It is written in an exemplary way so that it is entertaining to watch for both adults and children, because even today I can still watch this movie and continue to enjoy it as if I was a little girl.
It's that type of movie that never gets old and that also brings a lot of nostalgia if you used to watch it as a child around the same time of year. It's a great story with memorable characters that earn a special place in your heart.
