On the occasion of the CONTEST: What is your favorite action movie? proposal by the Movies & tv shows community, I've been thinking a lot. The reality is that I couldn't pick a special action movie to write about. Don't get me wrong, I've seen a lot of action movies and I liked a lot of them, some more than others. But for some reason, none of them shone in my mind.

I had finally decided on one that came to my memories out of nowhere, but before I started writing my muse arrived hahaha😅and I had to change the title. Ladies and gentlemen, I am going to dedicate this post to Geo-storm, it is an exceptional film from my point of view, have you seen it yet? I've seen it three times and I wouldn't hesitate to see it as many times as I can.


Comedies and romantic movies are my favorites. Although I love the Sherlock Holmes-style mystery ones. I am good with profiles and on many occasions I find the culprit in advance or anticipate events, it is a natural detective skill that I possess😜.

I'm a wife and mother of a teenager so I've seen a lot of superhero movies and I like them, my husband really likes space and cowboy movies so I've seen a lot of those too. Now, without departing from the topic that brings us here today, I will talk about Geo-storm and you will see why I love it. Are you willing to read some spoilers? Well, I'll anticipate when we get to that point, in case you want to get there before you break the spell.

Well, this is one more in the apocalyptic movies, dealing with a story, in which the world we know could end. Of course, you will say that there are many who pull the same thread, and so it is. It really is a subject that has a lot of fabric to cut. In fact I have seen a few of these, even since I was a child. I remember a lot Apollo 13, Deep Impact, The day after tomorrow, Apocalypse, and others whose plot I remember, but not the name. However, this particular movie, although it is about a world cataclysm, is different. Because the events that affect the planet and that can cause massive destruction are not produced by natural causes, but by the direct hand of man.

But who or who are these men? And what are those events? How do they do it? Well, I still haven't told you who is responsible, do you want to know now? Suddenly around the world, some extreme climate change events begin to occur that cause destruction and have put the world in a state of alarm.

Some of these events are, for example, that suddenly in a village in Afghanistan, under a sudden wave of cold, people and everything in their path automatically freeze while walking, standing, sitting. The bitter cold surprised them in broad daylight. At another point in time, in Hong Kong the temperature begins to rise so much that everything begins to practically melt and the heat causes gas pipelines to burst, causing terrible destruction of part of the city.

On the other hand, Tokyo is hit by a strong hailstorm that, like the previous ones, caused enormous damage. The temperature begins to decrease in Rio de Janeiro, freezing the beach and what it gets in its way and continues to spread. In Dubai, the sea begins to grow to such a magnitude that it would destroy the city. Well, as you read it, one event after another in different parts of the world threatens to become a natural annihilation machine.

Natural? But didn't we say that on this occasion the cataclysm was produced by the hand of man? Alright, it's time to clarify this point. Precisely in order to control the ravages that climate change (in which, as we know, man has a good share of the blame) was causing around the world, a group of several countries meets and decides to start a global initiative. This consists of developing a network of satellites, which allow them to control these climatic changes. And thus prevent the disasters that occur as a result of the effects of climate.

Well, what one day was a solution, was now the cause of the events of the plot of this story. But not in the case of a failure in its operation, but of a cowardly manipulation by unscrupulous people.

This climate control satellite project was called the Dutch Child, and I'll tell you why below. Now, it is only a short time before a geo-storm occurs, that is, a series of extreme weather events around the world and simultaneously. Therefore it is vital to find the fault in time.

Gerard Butler: Jake Lawson in the movie. Abbie Cornish: Sarah Wilson in the movie. She is a secret service agent who works to protect the President of the United States. She is also Max's girlfriend, whose relationship is against his work policies, therefore it is a secret relationship, just like the service.😜. She is a beautiful, intelligent woman who, despite respecting and taking her work very seriously, trusts her boyfriend and is willing to make decisions against what she has always defended for the good of humanity. . You will see her in action, her character is really formidable. I really liked that they will bet on a woman for this role, and she really shined playing it.

Andy García: Andrew Palma, he is the president of the United States in the movie and he plays an excellent role. I won't tell you more about him, because you have to see him.

Ed Harris: Leonard Dekkom, the United States Secretary in the movie. He is an apparently gentle man and a friend of Jake and Max, who is cooperative when he learns that the events that have occurred are part of a plot and human manipulation.

Alexandra Maria Lara: Ute Fassbinder in the movie. She was the commander of the ICSS (Space Station) and played a huge role in uncovering the plot and saving the world alongside Jake.

Eugenio Derbez (Al Hernandez), Amr Waked (Ray Dussette), Robert Sheehan (Duncan Taylor), are other members of the ICSS taxation . I personally love Eugenio Derbez, and his role in this movie was spectacular, and it's like a ring in the cake, although some didn't like it, you have to see it, because I'm not going to tell you why.

Con motivo del CONTEST: What is your favourite action movie? propuesto por la comunidad de Movies & tv shows, estuve pensando mucho. La realidad es que no podía elegir una película de acción especial sobre la cual escribir. No me malinterpretes, si he visto muchas películas de acción y una gran cantidad de ellas me han gustado, algunas más que otras. Pero por alguna razón, ninguna brillaba en mi mente.

Por fin me había decidido por una que llegó a mis recuerdos de la nada, pero antes de comenzar a escribir llegó mi musa jajaja 😅 y tuve que cambiar de título. Señoras y señores, este post lo voy a dedicar a Geo-tormenta, es una película excepcional a mi punto de vista ¿ya la viste? Yo la he visto tres veces y no dudaría en verla cuantas veces pueda hacerlo.


Las comedias y películas románticas son mis preferidas. Aunque las de misterio al estilo Sherlock Holmes me encantan. Soy buena con los perfiles y en muchas ocasiones encuentro al culpable con antelación o anticipo eventos, es un dote detectivesco natural que poseo 😜.

Soy esposa y madre de un adolescente, por eso he visto una gran cantidad de películas de superhéroes y me gustan, a mi esposo le gustan mucho las películas espaciales y de vaqueros, así que también he visto muchas de ellas. Ahora bien, sin apartarme del tema que nos trae hoy aquí, les hablaré de Geo-tormenta y verás porque me encanta. ¿estás dispuesto a leer algunos spoilers? Pues te anticiparé cuando lleguemos a ese punto, por si deseas llegar hasta allí antes de romper el encanto.

🎬 De que se trata la película Geo-tormenta

Bueno, esta es una más en las películas apocalípticas, que tratan una historia, en la que el mundo que conocemos podría acabar. Claro, tú dirás que hay muchas que tiran del mismo hilo, y así es. Realmente es un tema que tiene mucha tela que cortar. De hecho yo he visto unas cuantas de estas, aún desde que era niña. Recuerdo mucho Apolo 13, Impacto profundo, El día después de mañana, Apocalipsis, y otras cuya trama recuerdo, pero no el nombre. Sin embargo, esta película en particular aunque trata sobre un cataclismo mundial, es diferente. Porque los eventos que afectan al planeta y que pueden causar la destrucción masiva no son producidos por causas naturales, sino por la mano directa del hombre.

Pero ¿quién o quiénes son esos hombres? y ¿cuales son esos eventos?, ¿cómo lo hacen? Bueno, aún no te adelanto quienes son los responsables, ¿quieres saberlo ya? Pues esto se revela ya muy avanzada la trama, así que no te apresures. De repente alrededor del mundo, comienzan a ocurrir algunos eventos de cambio climático extremo que causan destrucción y han puesto al mundo en estado de alarma.

Algunos de estos eventos son, por ejemplo, que de repente en una aldea de Afganistán, bajo una oleada repentina de frío, las personas y todo a su paso se congelan automáticamente mientras caminan, están de pie, sentadas. El frío desgarrador las sorprendió en pleno día. En otro momento, en Hong Kong la temperatura comienza a subir tanto que todo comienza prácticamente a derretirse y el calor causa la explosión de gasoductos, lo que causa una terrible destrucción de parte de la ciudad.

Por otro lado Tokio, es azotado por una fuerte granizada que al igual que las anteriores causó enormes destrozos. La temperatura comienza a disminuir en Río de Janeiro, congelando la playa y lo que consigue a su paso y sigue extendiéndose. En Dubai, el mar comienza a crecer a tal magnitud que arrasaría la ciudad. Pues así como lo lees, un evento tras otro en diferentes lugares del mundo amenaza en convertirse en una máquina natural de aniquilación.

¿Natural?, pero ¿no dijimos que en esta ocasión el cataclismo era producido por la mano del hombre? Muy bien, es hora de aclarar este punto. Precisamente para poder controlar los estragos que el cambio climático (en el que como sabemos, el hombre tiene una buena tajada de culpa) estaba causando alrededor del mundo, un grupo de varios países se reúne y decide iniciar una iniciativa global. Esta consiste en desarrollar una red de satélites, que les permitan controlar esos cambios climáticos. Y así impedir los desastres que ocurren como consecuencia de los efectos del clima.

Pues, lo que un día fue una solución, ahora era la causa de los eventos de la trama de esta historia. Pero no tratándose de un fallo en su funcionamiento, sino de una cobarde manipulación por parte de personas inescrupulosas.

A este proyecto de satélites para el control climático se le llamó el Niño Holandés, y más abajo te contaré porqué. Ahora bien, solo falta poco para que se produzca una geo-tormenta, es decir una serie de fenómenos climáticos extremos alrededor del mundo y de forma simultánea. Por lo tanto es vital encontrar la falla a tiempo.

¿Qué te parece hasta ahora?, ¿interesante? Bueno, la trama no solo incluye esta situación que amenaza al planeta, sino que también incluye relaciones familiares turbulentas, romance, corrupción, acción y humor.

Gerard Butler: Jake Lawson en la película. Él fue quien diseñó el Niño Holandés, y estuvo a cargo de él,hasta que voluntariamente y sin autorización utilizó esta red de satélites para controlar un huracán que afectaba a Shanghái. Pero más que eso, fue su actitud en la junta que se organizó para discutir lo sucedido lo que ocasionó que su destitución fuera un hecho. Este hombre tiene una personalidad tipo Tony Stark que me encanta, es un hombre seguro de sí mismo, no respeta mucho las reglas, no se deja intimidar y no es nada cuidadoso con lo que dice ni cómo lo hace. Es hermano de Max, quien queda a cargo del proyecto y con el que no tiene muy buenas relaciones, Ambos huérfanos y con intereses comunes en el campo laboral. Jake está divorciado, con no muy buenas relaciones con su ex, con quien comparte la custodia de su hija Hannah. Cómo que qué es un patrón personal del sujeto, el no llevarse bien con algunas personas🤔.

Jim Sturgess: Max Lawson en la película. Es el hermano menor de Jake, y quien está a cargo del Niño Holandés, después de su destitución. Aunque su relación con Jake no es buena, al comenzar a suceder esta serie de eventos, sabe que a él es que iba a acudir y lo convence para que vuelva y se encargue de encontrar y solucionar el fallo. También es, quien descubre al verdadero culpable y convence a su novia de cobrar protagonismo para salvar al mundo. Solo de escribir todo esto me emociono 😃. De verdad que no deben dejar de verla.

La verán en acción, realmente su personaje es formidable. Me gustó mucho que apostarán por una mujer para este papel, y en realidad ella se lució interpretándolo.
