Starting 3% for the first time, and this opening episode did a pretty good job of pulling me into its world.
The idea is simple but disturbing: everyone gets one chance at the age of 20 to go through The Process, but only 3% will earn a place in the Offshore. What I liked most about this first episode is how quickly that idea becomes uncomfortable. The tests aren't just about intelligence. They expose ambition, desperation, selfishness, and how far someone might go when they believe a better life is within reach.
Michele immediately feels important, but I'm probably even more curious about characters like Joana and Rafael. It's already difficult to know who can actually be trusted.
The cube test was a particularly good introduction to the philosophy of the show. Something that looks like a simple puzzle quickly becomes much more about the people taking it.
It's not a perfect premiere, and I'm still getting used to the world and characters, but it definitely made me want to continue.
