I'm not an expert on the world of DC, but I do know that one of their characters has been making his way since the 60's with a well constructed story, and now Sandman is back and with great success. Neil Gaiman is the talented creator of this comic, a guy quite recognized in pop culture and an inveterate lover of twitter, this man is a great storyteller thanks to his great imagination, he has a special and magical touch to turn myths into the most fantastic adventure.

No soy experta ni de cerca del mundo de DC, pero sí sé que unos de sus personajes con gran puesta y elegancia viene abriendo su camino desde por allá por los 60 con una historia bien construida, y ahora Sandman ha regresado y con gran éxito. Neil Gaiman es el talentoso creador de este cómic, un tipo bastante reconocido en la cultura pop y un amante empedernido del twitter, este hombre es una gran narrador de historias gracias a su gran imaginación, tiene un toque especial y mágico para convertir los mitos en la aventura más fantástica.

In 88 Sandman got a breath of new airs, full of scripts and changes that was seen until 96. This is not the first adaptation itself, as it has an audio version made by Amazon with a quite interesting cast, being James McAvoy the interpreter of Morpheus, you can still get it in their catalog. By that time they already had the series project underway but because of the pandemic the delay was unavoidable, still they have offered the best they could. Now Netflix is finally bringing something decent and has a great chance to reinvent themselves with their subscribers.

Para ese entonces ya tenían el proyecto de la serie en marcha pero por la pandemia el retraso fue inevitable, aún así han ofrecido lo mejor posible. Ahora Netflix por fin trae algo decente y tiene la gran posibilidad de reinvidicarse con sus suscriptores.

Something that kept me quite interested was the diversity of characters presented that were not really "forced" to how a fraction of fans might think, I found it very curious and interesting, I even dare to say that the secondary characters were my favorite. But the god of that place has been deprived of his freedom and nightmares have been set free.

La producción contiene temas como la muerte, la amistad, la superación, los errores, la honestidad, la ambición, el rencor, la voluntad y la esperanza, todo un conglomerado de situaciones que te dejan mucho qué pensar, los capítulos 5 y 6 son un contraste maravilloso del comportamiento humano y cómo podemos ser tan malignos cómo benévolos, una perspectiva honesta y maravillosa de como un dios nos vería, es quizás un teoría simple de la razón por la que aún no nos extinguimos.

And my favorites, Lucienne played by Vivienne Acheampong who was really captivating, her tenacity and good will made me give her my full appreciation, a character not haughty at all, well built and patient, very good plot support throughout the plot, then we have Corinth played by Boyd Holbrook who represents a nightmare, far from how we all see nightmares, Sandman makes it clear that they have a very important purpose: To help you overcome fears, but here our nightmare who steals not only dreams but sighs does a masterful impersonation of someone who does not want to be controlled, who seeks his own way, even if it is to be more lethal than a bad dream.

Esta serie es un frescor nuevo, llena de muchas referencias y una adaptación leal a su contenido. Uno de los pilares como mencioné en la indagación es la diversidad del elenco, algo que desde mi punto de vista no se sintió forzado ni intolerable, tenemos caras nuevas, personas comunes e interesantes que supieron abordar muy bien sus papeles, primeramente el protagonista, un tipo atractivo e impasible que tomó el show con sus manos en base sus criterios interpretado por Tom Sturridge, un Morfeo cambiante que acepta su derrota o errores así sea tarde. Y mis favoritos, Lucienne interpretada por Vivienne Acheampong que fue realmente cautivadora, su tenacidad y buena voluntad hicieron que le diera mi total aprecio, un personaje nada altanero, bien construido y paciente, muy buen apoyo argumental en toda la trama, luego tenemos a Corintio interpretado por Boyd Holbrook quien representa a una pesadilla, muy lejos de cómo todos vemos a las pesadillas, Sandman deja en claro que estás tienen un propósito muy importante: ayudarte a superar los miedos, pero aquí nuestra pesadilla que roba no solo sueños sino suspiros hace una magistral personificación de alguien que no quiere ser controlado, que busca su propio camino, así sea ser más letal que un mal sueño.

Partiendo de Corintio, hay un tema que se aborda con delicadeza y suspicacia: los asesinos seriales. Siendo inspirados por una verdadera pesadilla, en Sandman dan referencia al asesinato, la pedofilia, la religiosidad, el comportamiento "feminazi", la cacería de animales y más temáticas problemáticas que aunque no se profundiza en ellas sí se da una perspectiva interesante de como los sueños influyen.

We have other secondary characters that give their contribution and sometimes steal the total attention of the viewer, we are not in the limits of heteronormality, but here there are no barriers, we have black women, fat men, transsexuals, liberal priests, and all without being a "forced" inclusive method. To me it seemed to lack a bit of charisma to the character that presents that little story of "a vortex", he had a good material on his hands, but I felt it slipped away; I won't deny that I would have liked to see the Constantin version of the man attached to his own comics, but you can't please the audience in its entirety. However, all this work seems to have satisfied not only a lot of fans but also his own creator, which is enough. Of course this is my opinion, you will have to watch it to know what you think about it.

Tenemos otros personajes secundarios que dan su aporte y en ocasiones roban la total atención del espectador, no estamos en los límites de la heteronormalidad, sino que aquí no hay barreras, tenemos mujeres negras, hombres gordos, transexuales, curas liberales, y todo sin ser un método inclusivo "forzado". Claro que tiene algunos puntos malos, el ritmo es algo que no se mantiene constante, sobre todo cuando el foco de la historia cambia casi al final del camino y un nuevo personaje le roba presencia al protagonista, destapando una amenaza tanto para la ensoñación cómo para el mundo de los vivos. A mí parecer le faltó un poco de carisma al personaje que presenta esa pequeña historia de "un vórtice", tenía un buen material entre manos, pero sentí que se le escurrió; tampoco voy a negar que me fuera gustado ver al Constantin versión hombre apegado a sus propios cómics, pero no se puede complacer al público en su totalidad. Sin embargo, todo este trabajo parece haber dejado no solo satisfecho a gran cantidad de seguidores sino a su propio creador, lo cual es suficiente. Claro que esta es mi opinión, te tocará verla para saber qué piensas referente a ello.
