After a week of being busy, I just had time to see a movie today, and this movie was number one in Malaysia's Top Ten watched movies on Netflix.
As one of my blog categories, I've opted to write a review. I'm not a big lover of action movies, but this is an action comedy, so it might be a little different than I expected.
Bullet Train is a David Leitch-directed action-comedy film starring Brad Pitt, Sandra Bullock, and Joey King. The plot revolves around five assassins who become trapped on a Japanese bullet train.
Their purpose becomes entwined, leaving them with no way out. With the flashbacks and over-the-top action sequences, it can get very confusing, but I think it was done nicely.
The performances, humour, and plot were all entertaining. Each character had their moment in the spotlight and contributed to the plot, in my opinion.
The story is simple: a group of killers, all of whom had prior links to each other in the best manner of Charles Dickens or Agatha Christie, board a midnight bullet train in Japan, and havoc begins.
The main star is Brad Pitt's character, "Ladybug," who is reassessing his life choices after being in therapy and attempting to find peaceful resolutions, which is challenging in his job.
It is, above all, attempting to be funny. However, some of the action parts are quite well done. The extreme violence is overly stylized rather than realistic.
This is one of the most chaotic and horribly sarcastic action movies I've ever seen. It's not your typical action film. To understand the plot, you must pay close attention to the conversation and don't miss every part of the movie.
One aspect of the film that I found intriguing is that their codenames are both intelligent and humorous. Ladybug, Lemon, Tangerine, The Prince, and The Hornet are among the codenames that seem to be fascinating me.
The assassins are all smart and experienced, but the shock comes at the end when they find that White Death (the boss) purposefully positioned them in the train to kill themselves since he suspects one of them murdered his son.
Brad Pitt is my favourite actor (Codename: Ladybug). He truly is maturing gracefully. He's reached the point in his acting career when anything he does is exciting. I believe he had a good time making Bullet Train and took his followers on a thrilling experience.
The movie taught me a simple lesson: Ladybug did not have to be the hero, as expected. When he couldn't keep it together any longer, he let everything fall apart.
This movie has a great cast, is well choreographed, has insanely over-the-top violent action sequences, and has never-ending hilarious banter. This movie is like chaos giving birth to a new beginning.
If you're wanting for a humorous action film with a big explosion! Check out Bullet Train for a satisfying conclusion.
