Hola hive, hoy les vengo a hablar sobre una película que descubrí hace mucho tiempo pero que por diversas razones no había tenido la oportunidad de verla, pero hace unos días vino a mi mente y pensé “es hora de echarle un vistazo”, así que la busqué y por fin decidí verla, por esta razón es que hoy les vengo a traer mi reseña sobre Submarine
Submarine es una película dramática con tintes de romance y comedia lanzada en el 2010, dirigida por Richard Ayoade y protagonizada por Craig Roberts. Esta película nos muestra a Oliver, un adolescente con una vida un poco complicada que busca tener una Historia de romance mientras a su vez intenta evitar el divorcio de sus padres. Dicha historia está basada en un libro homónimo lanzado en el 2008, pero sin más que decir ahora si comencemos!
Cabe destacar que mi primer acercamiento a esta película fue el soundtrack y es que desde hace mucho tiempo sigo la carrera de Arctic Monkeys, asi Que cuando descubrí Alex Turner había sido el encargado de realizar el soundtrack de esta película mi interés aumentó bastante, entonces si conocía de la existencia de “Submarine” desde hace muchos años, pero nunca me había dado el chance de verla, hasta hoy.
Primero siempre me gusta empezar hablando de lo que más me encanto de la película y es el cómo desarrollan la historia, me gusta mucho como la dividen en partes marcando así el objetivo de cada grupo de secuencia y agregándole una estructura bastante original que a mi en lo particular me gusto, además como hay dos problemáticas principales podemos ir saltando entre una y otra sin problema, sumando además pequeños flashbacks que le dan un excelente ritmo.
Toda la parte del ritmo y desarrollo de la película también va muy de la mano con otro aspecto que me pareció genial y es la dirección, en estas películas en particular la dirección y la historia lo son todo, y ambas tienen que interactuar para apoyarse entre sí y darle dinamismo a la película, eso es exactamente lo que sucede en Submarine, ya que para que cada escena tenga el peso que se merece debe estar acompañada de buenos planes que enfaticen los sentimientos de nuestro protagonista.
Otra cosa que me llamo mucho la atención es cómo logran hacer que nos pongamos en el rol de Oliver, más que todo porque cada momento de la película es mostrado y narrado desde las perspectivas de nuestro protagonista, por eso hay momentos donde se siente alguna fantasía, sueños u otras cosas que no dejan en claro que aunque sea la realidad la estamos viendo desde los ojos de Oliver Tate.
La forma en que Submarine representa los problemas adolescentes es muy directa, cruda pero rozando fuertemente en lo real, el como intenta sobrellevar cada momento y se esfuerza en solucionarlo todo pero mucha veces en vez de mejorar termina empeorando la situación entrando en desesperación y frustración.
Esta película funciona a la perfección debido a que nos muestra una época de nuestra vida donde estamos cargados de sentimientos que mucha veces no sabemos manifestar y hasta ocultamos para no ser visto vulnerables, pero parte decrecer tanto literal como figurativamente es aprender a controlar dichas emocionas y compartirlas con las personas correctas.
Admito que es una película que puede llegar a ser un poco densa y que cuesta agarrarle el hilo y es que no es una película de acción o donde suceden cosas impactaste Sino que al contrario, la Magia está en cada uno de los diálogos y los pequeños detalles, el como van uniendo pequeños aspectos para ir formando el arco de nuestro protagonista.
Siento que submarine juega mucho con la ambigüedad para así lograr que nos identifiquemos mucho más y es que cada persona puede tener diversas opinión sobre situaciones específicas pero es ahí el encanto.
Y obviamente no podía terminar sin hablar del soundtrack que le da una estética característica a la película, le da una identidad sonora que es clave, yo había escuchado el EP de esta película varías veces y ahora poderlo hacer en conjunto con la película fue simplemente perfecto.
En conclusión me parece una gran película con unos mensajes bastante interesantes que nos pueden poner en modo reflexivo, además de que la trama es llamativa y el ritmo narrativo complementa perfectamente. Tal vez no sea una película para todo el mundo pero si te llamo la atención deberías echarle un vistazo porque tiene cosas bastante destacables.

It is worth mentioning that my first approach to this movie was the soundtrack and I have been following the career of Arctic Monkeys for a long time, so when I discovered that Alex Turner had been in charge of the soundtrack of this movie my interest increased a lot, so I knew about the existence of "Submarine" for many years, but I had never given me the chance to see it, until today.
First I always like to start talking about what I love the most about the film and that is how they develop the story, I really like how they divide it into parts marking the objective of each group of sequences and adding a very original structure that I particularly liked, also as there are two main problems we can jump between one and the other without problem, also adding small flashbacks that give it an excellent rhythm.
The whole part of the rhythm and development of the film also goes hand in hand with another aspect that I thought was great and that is the direction, in these films in particular the direction and the story are everything, and both have to interact to support each other and give dynamism to the film, that's exactly what happens in Submarine, because for each scene to have the weight it deserves it must be accompanied by good plans that emphasize the feelings of our protagonist.
Another thing that caught my attention is how they manage to make us put ourselves in Oliver's role, mostly because every moment of the film is shown and narrated from the perspectives of our protagonist, so there are moments where you feel some fantasy, dreams or other things that do not make it clear that although it is reality we are seeing it from the eyes of Oliver Tate.
The way in which Submarine represents teenage problems is very direct, raw but strongly touching on the real, how he tries to cope every moment and strives to solve everything but often instead of improving ends up worsening the situation entering into despair and frustration.
This movie works perfectly because it shows us a time in our lives where we are full of feelings that we often do not know how to express and even hide to not be seen vulnerable, but part of growing up both literally and figuratively is to learn to control these emotions and share them with the right people.
I admit that it is a film that can be a bit dense and hard to grasp the thread and it is not an action movie or where things happen shockingly, but on the contrary, the magic is in each of the dialogues and the small details, how they are joining small aspects to form the arc of our protagonist.
I feel that submarine plays a lot with ambiguity in order to make us identify ourselves much more and each person can have different opinions about specific situations, but that's the charm.
And obviously I could not finish without talking about the soundtrack that gives a characteristic aesthetic to the film, gives it a sound identity that is key, I had heard the EP of this film several times and now to be able to do it together with the film was just perfect.
In conclusion I think it is a great film with some interesting messages that can put us in reflective mode, plus the plot is striking and the narrative rhythm complements perfectly. It may not be a movie for everyone but if it caught your attention you should take a look at it because it has some pretty remarkable things.
