hoy les quiero hablar sobre una película que había visto en todos lados, ha sido muy sonada recientemente por lo que me di la tarea de verla para así poder sacar mis propias conclusiones y vaya que me sorprendí, es por esto que hoy les quiero hablar de The Menu
The Menu es una película estadounidense de “suspenso” y humor lanzada en el 2022, dirigida por Mark Mylod, producida por Adam McKay y protagonizada por Anya Taylor-Joy y Ralph Fiennes. Esta película tiene una propuesta un poco distinta haciéndola destacar notablemente, por lo que ha sido muy sonada últimamente, dicho esto comencemos!
Cabe destacar que cuando decidí ver esta película ya sabía de que iba y tenía mas o menos una idea de con que me iba a encontrar, por lo que ciertamente mis expectativas estaban muy altas, pero… ¿logró cumplirlas?
Primero siempre me gusta empezar hablando de lo que me encanto de esta película y sin duda tengo que mencionar el concepto en sí, mas allá de que todos los factores de una película estén objetivamente bien es necesario tener un buen concepto como base ya que sin esto todo lo demás se pierde. Esta película intenta arriesgar un poco y nos presenta toda esta temática de un restaurante donde cada plato tiene un significado y cada vez se va volviendo mas turbio cada uno de ellos, es aquí donde empieza a florecer esa esencia de la película.
Lo que realmente destaca de The Menu es cómo llevan todo el concepto de un “menu” a analogías directas con respecto al arte en general y esto me fascinó, es aquí donde siento que esta la magia, el chef siendo el artista y los comensales siendo publico al que se les muestra el arte, viendo así la variedad de publico que puede haber y como cada uno de ellos se toma cada situación en particular.
En medio de la película lo que más pensaba era que es impresionante como plasmaban ese publico fan, ese publico crítico y ese publico que va solo por una experiencia, y esta idea solo me hacía pensar en cómo se podía trasladar estas definiciones a cualquier arte, ya sea música, esculturas o el mismo cine, y aunque todo esto va más allá de los factores objetivos de la película si siento que era esto más o menos la idea que querían transmitir y lo lograron 10/10.
La película tiene un ritmo bastante peculiar, porque aunque no es una película muy acelerada siempre están pasando cosas y esto hace que no se sienta como pesada y sea súper fácil de dirigir, por lo que considero esto como un gran punto positivo.
El guion es bastante bueno y ¿como nos podemos dar cuenta de esto? Porque si nos ponemos a pensar la mayoría de la película transcurre en un solo espacio por lo que el foco en sí está en cada una de las conversaciones y cada una de las acciones de los personajes, lograr esto sin que se haga una película fastidiosa es bastante difícil, pero The Menú utiliza esto a su favor.
Obviamente si o si tengo que mencionar la actuación y aunque siento que cada uno hace un excelente trabajo, definitivamente los mejor son los protagonistas Anya Taylor-Joy y Ralph Fiennes, Que le dan una vibra bastante peculiar a cada uno de sus personajes y la verdad es que a Ralph Fiennes estos personajes le quedan como anillo al dedo.
En cuanto a la trama siento que cumple con lo que promete, me gusta mucho el como van explicado el por que cada uno está ahí, es decir nada fue al azar y todo fue calculado con rigurosidad, algo que si no me termino de convencer fue el final, pero entiendo que ya por el desarrollo que tiene la película es el final que tiene más coherencia y el que cierra perfectamente la historia, por lo que tampoco me disgusto.
En términos generales me pareció una muy buena película, disfruto mucho el como manejan el suspenso y está en particular que tiene uno que otro momento de humor le suma bastante al resultado final, siento que tanto objetiva como subjetivamente es una gran película, cumple perfectamente con lo que promete y es una de esas que da que hablar, eso me encanta!.

Hi hive, today I want to talk about a movie that I had seen everywhere, it has been very popular recently so I took the task to see it in order to draw my own conclusions and I was surprised, that's why today I want to talk about The Menu.
The Menu is an American "suspense" and humor movie released in 2022, directed by Mark Mylod, produced by Adam McKay and starring Anya Taylor-Joy and Ralph Fiennes. This movie has a slightly different approach making it stand out remarkably, which is why it has been getting a lot of buzz lately, that being said let's get started!
It should be noted that when I decided to see this movie I already knew what it was about and I had more or less an idea of what I was going to find, so certainly my expectations were very high, but... did it manage to meet them?
First I always like to start talking about what I loved about this movie and without a doubt I have to mention the concept itself, beyond that all the factors of a film are objectively well it is necessary to have a good concept as a basis because without this everything else is lost. This film tries to risk a little and presents us with this whole theme of a restaurant where each dish has a meaning and each time it becomes more and more murky each one of them, this is where the essence of the film begins to flourish.
What really stands out in The Menu is how they take the whole concept of a "menu" to direct analogies with respect to art in general and this fascinated me, this is where I feel the magic is, the chef being the artist and the diners being the audience to whom the art is shown, thus seeing the variety of audiences that can exist and how each one of them takes each situation in particular.
In the middle of the film what I thought the most was that it is impressive how they captured that fan public, that critical public and that public that goes just for an experience, and this idea only made me think about how these definitions could be transferred to any art, whether music, sculptures or cinema itself, and although all this goes beyond the objective factors of the film if I feel that this was more or less the idea they wanted to convey and they achieved it 10/10.
The film has a quite peculiar rhythm, because although it is not a very fast paced film there are always things happening and this makes it not feel like heavy and it is super easy to direct, so I consider this as a big plus point.
The script is pretty good and how can we realize this? Because if we think about it, most of the film takes place in a single space so the focus is on each of the conversations and each of the actions of the characters, achieving this without making it a tiresome film is quite difficult, but The Menu uses this to its advantage.
Obviously I have to mention the acting and although I feel that everyone does an excellent job, definitely the best are the protagonists Anya Taylor-Joy and Ralph Fiennes, who give a very peculiar vibe to each of their characters and the truth is that these characters fit Ralph Fiennes like a glove.
As for the plot I feel that it fulfills what it promises, I really like how they are explained why everyone is there, that is nothing was random and everything was calculated with rigor, something that if I did not end up convincing me was the end, but I understand that already by the development that has the film is the end that has more coherence and that closes the story perfectly, so I do not dislike it.
In general terms I thought it was a very good movie, I really enjoy the way they handle the suspense and this one in particular that has one or another moment of humor adds a lot to the final result, I feel that both objectively and subjectively it is a great movie, it fulfills perfectly what it promises and it is one of those that gives you something to talk about, I love that!
