Wrong turn es una reboot de una película con el mismo nombre que se estrenó en el 2003, con una saga de películas luego de ello. La original era muy sanguinaria, con muertes muy desagradables y retorcidas, por lo que aquí optaron en hacer algo menos gráfico para intentar llegar a un mayor grupo de espectadores, consiguiendo una película muy oscura y con matices muy diferentes, mejores en unos aspectos y peores en algunos otros.
Wrong turn is a reboot of a movie of the same name that was released in 2003, with a series of movies after that. The original was very bloody, with very unpleasant and twisted deaths, so here they opted to do something less graphic to try to reach a larger group of viewers, achieving a very dark film with very different nuances, better in some aspects and worse in some others.
Aquí nos encontraremos a un nuevo grupo de jóvenes de 20 y tanto, que deciden realizar una excursión al bosque para relajarse un poco y vivir un experiencia diferente. Al llegar al pueblo se percatan que las personas del pueblo son algo raras, llegando a ser incluso hostiles, y cuando al fin encuentran una persona amable que quiere aconsejarlos, se meten al bosque hacer exactamente lo contrario a lo que les dijeron, pero ya saben, así comienzan la mayoría de películas de este estilo.

Hablando de los personajes, casi todos los protagonistas son detestables, desde el segundo uno es muy difícil empatizar con ellos por sus comentarios y comportamientos vacíos y plásticos. Jen (Charlotte Vega) y Darius (Adain Bradley) son los personajes del grupo de jóvenes que tal puedas llegar hacer empatía, pero al ser tan planos aburren, el único que se salva es el padre de Jen (Matthew Modine), que quieres que todo le salga bien y se salve. A veces incluso te puedes llegar a poner de parte de los antagonistas, y eso que son unos caníbales, sádicos y asesinos.

El escritor de esta película es el mismo de las entregas anteriores, aunque no lo parezca, ya que las entregas anteriores eran mucho más sádicas, sangrientas y gráficas, a este filme quiere darle un cambio a la trama general, lo cual no es que sea malo, pero le faltaron ciertas cosas para que fuera lo que es, otra película de jóvenes asesinados en el bosque, por más que el concepto de la fundación me gustó, sería interesante ver una secuela donde entrarán un grupo de personas acabar esa secta.

En conclusión, como ya lo dije en título del post, me pareció que es solo una película más de las que ya hay por montones en este género. Incluso en su género queda a deber, no recuerdo escenas donde haya sentido temor, y el suspenso no me creo incomodidad alguna, que es lo que me gusta de este tipo de películas.
