No Country For Old Men (2007)

Review by @minhajulmredol · 1442d · of No Country for Old Men

Heads or tails? Choose one from the coin I just flipped, if you win then you get to live otherwise you are dead. If this is the situation then who is gonna call it. Are you up for the risk of calling for your life? Hehehe. There was such a scene and I was feeling the same thing.

No Country For Old Men is a crime thriller film which is directed by Joel and Ethan Coen, and it's based on a novel by McCarthy.

The plot of the movie was set in 1980 in West Texas. There is much more to take from the story than it has shown us. Initially, we can start with the character of Josh Brolin as Llewelyn Moss, who gets to hold a large sum of money in a desert, around 2 million dollars, a drug deal had gone wrong and almost everyone was dead and so he got hold of that money out of nowhere and escaped.

And for the second character, we have our villain Javier Bardem as Anton Chigurh, a serial psychopath killer. In the very first scene we had seen that he was arrested and taken into custody and from there he escaped by killing that officer after that, he just kills whoever he wants or comes in his way. A unique hairstyle with black attire and calm nature.

Story picks up its gear when Llewelyn decides to return to that desert from where he had got those money because someone there was barely alive and asked for water, so at midnight he woke up and left for there with water and when he reached there he saw him dead as someone shot him. There were Mexican mafias, they saw him and chased him, Llewelyn someone managed to survive with gunshots in his shoulder but things got messy, right? And later we see Anton sent after Llewelyn to bring back that money. There was a tracker in that briefcase of money and Llewelyn had the receiver that notifies if that tracker is around in its radius.

This is the kickstart of the story, you can expect a mouse and rat race but there are much more interesting scenes and consequences to watch and enjoy. You can watch the whole movie and feel nothing. On the other hand, some deep thoughts about fate, consequences, and the characters, you can sink into them in your thoughts after the runtime is over, as I did. There are two scenes with the coin tossing which I mentioned at the top of my writing, and the ending consequences for Llewelyn and his wife, and ending scenes for Anton. Also, there were a couple of supporting roles, they meant a lot to but I wanna stick to Llewelyn and Anton as the main roles and the rest of them as the supporting, playing as Detective and Sheriff.

It was an amazing thriller, loved watching this. The name sounds different but it got a meaning too, watch the film, you won't regret watching it. Overall I would love to rate it 8 out of 10. Go for it if you haven't already, Happy Watching!
