For thriller movies I always prefer Korean one's. Truly they satisfy your thrilling thirst completely.
So I was watching The Gangster,The cop,The devil Well the name sounds interesting. Before I watched it I thought that one person will be leading the three roles or we will surprise our cop to be turned as the devil or the gangster as a secret cop or something like this kind of twist. Did you think the same? If yes, I am clearing that by a spoiler that nothing of this sort will happen.
So this is about a serial killer who just randomly pick a victims and murder him/her by stabbing continuously by a knife. His murder takes place randomly, he will be driving a car and suddenly hit another car from the back. When the driver comes out he starts stabbing continuously. Same story again and again. Well, there is a gangster named Jang Dong-soo. Well I liked his impression more than our cop who is also the one of the leading actors in this film with the other two(serial killer and the gangster).
One day that gangster fall a victim to the serial killer and he attempted to murder the gangster as his random killing. The gangster survived somehow. Btw before that our cop Jung Tae-suk was after the gangster. When the serial killing was taking place he also started to find the killer. The story begins with the gangster being attacked which is a shame for his reputation. So he is also after the serial killer for revenge. Somehow the cop and the gangster came to a treaty that they will help each other to find the killer and whoever catches the killer first he is his. Their treaty is based on some kind of blackmailing against each other that you will find out if you watch the movie.
Too many things happened and among them one was beautiful and sad for me. On a rainy day there was a school girl standing without an umbrella where that gangster was standing with one. He offered his one to that girl and chosen to get drenched when the cop came and was making fun of the girl that why did you taken an umbrella from a stranger and he is a thug the girl replied you are looking like a thug not him. That was a sweet funny moment and that smile was also looking nice at our gangster. Saddest part is she was murdered by the serial killer.
Maybe a little spoiler, you can skip this part and jump to the next paragraph. Well I am fast forwarding some incidents where the gangster caught the killer first and wanted to chop him into pieces, but breaking the treaty our cop crushed our gangster by the car and took the killer into police custody but the police team didn’t have much evidence or testimony against him. Even his fingers don't have any fingerprints that would be matched with the knives.
At these point of my watching this movie i was taking it as an average movie and wished to rate it 7 out of 10 i was saying that our cop made a mistake, he should have murdered the killer or let the gangster kill him. I got this kind of feeling while watching "I saw the devil" too. That's also one of my favorite thrillers. But you know that the Korean movies are full of twists and I mostly love their endings. They are so exciting that you are sure to clap and appreciate that. Something like that happened here too. The ending part was too good, I don't wanna throw any spoiler, just know that if I rate the ending I will give it 9.5 out of 10.
So guys, who love thriller movies jump into it. This is a good one. I am damn sure you will love it. Happy watching!
