Those who watch movies regularly are pretty common to have a watchlist. Did you get a good recommendation? add to that list otherwise you might forget about that later. So for a long time, I have been adding, removing, or you can say forgetting to put my hands into them. I don't know how things get messed up and I end up losing my watchlists. At least I have started watching another popular trilogy which has four installments in total and here I am with the first one.
The Hunger Games, first one is a sci-fi, action genre film but I would like to present it more like a survival movie. This one is directed by Gary Rose and is based on a novel written by Suzanne Collins.
I really like how a big part of the initial runtime was spent to present to us the reason behind these Hunger Games which have been going on for years, we have seen the 76th one. So the plot is set in a dystopian post-apocalyptic time, where a nation consisting of 12 districts is put into a game for survival as a result of a failed revolt done by the 13th district which is now destroyed. So every year, the Capitol which holds the center power of the country organizes a game where a young boy and a young girl from each district are brought to make them compete against each other, and in the end, one comes alive from those twenty-four.
See, this is the initial plot, as a center of our attraction, we get an initial character of Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, who willingly volunteers for this game in exchange for her younger sister who was randomly selected. From the same district 12, we get a boy, Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark, accompanying Katniss but the surprising part is he has a huge crush on her, he kinda loves and on the other hand, she doesn't, she was a hunter.
The thing is to notice how they fight for their survival, only one coming out as victorious, Petta and Katniss, what's going to happen between them? Some chemistry of love won't be bad, right? Also, some districts particularly train their candidates for this game, to come out victorious every year.
The people in charge of the capital have turned this game into a live tv-show, their rules, their sponsors to bet on the candidates, and so on. But the ending looks like it wasn't in favor of them, why so? Hehehe, there is a twist by them in the game that seemed to backfire on them.
Overall the first installment was good enough to watch, enjoyed it. You may link this to the recent popular tv-show Squid Games on Netflix. It's a recent one but Hunger Games are from 2012, I wish I had watched them earlier. Well, it's better to be late than never. I will be going for the next ones soon, if you are planning to watch then go for it, worth watching.
