The soundtrack is quite nice, it gives a good musical accompaniment for both the action scenes and the emotional scenes, which is why these scenes feel much more impactful and sentimental.

The construction of the world is curious, the film takes place mostly in a jungle, however, at all times elements are added that make it clear that everything unfolds in a highly futuristic world where humanity has reached a technological and cold point that is simply impressive, being that the aforementioned is reflected very well both in its society and in the setting that is being built very well form. The camera angles are also another success, these are quite dynamic and know how to bring a good dose of drama and tension to the different situations.

The plot is extremely interesting, from the very beginning the film begins to give the viewer different data about absolutely everything, from the past of that civilization to a quick look at the hierarchy of this world, as a whole, it works very well because it makes the viewer interested in the different conflicts that are exposed. Narratively it feels incomplete and that is to be expected, from the start of the film it is seen that it will need several parts to be able to fully develop its premise, although it is a future bet it can be said that what this first installment offers is very interesting, it has good moments of action, drama, romance and emotions so in its more than 2 hours of duration there is really not a dull minute, something always happens that complements the premise in one way or another, in turn, it leaves several bases for future events so it maintains a certain level of intrigue about what will happen in a future installment.

The Hunger Games is not a work of art, he has several failures to his credit, however, if there is something positive to say about this, he has good strengths which reside in his good action and suspense scenes, the attempt is made that some deaths of inconsequential characters import but the reality of the matter is that they are too forgettable to feel something for them, therefore, their deaths pass without pain or glory. It is for all the above that 3 stars of 7 deserve, it is not a disaster or a work of art, in general it is fine, something that causes curiosity is its commitment to the next installments since many of its conflicts were only exposed slightly, I sincerely want to see the following to see how they make use of this.

Ever watched a movie so intriguing yet disturbing because of its intense violence? Well, The Hunger Games is that movie. Directed by Gary Ross and based on a novel by Suzanne Collins, it runs for 142 minutes. Trust me, those minutes will have you sitting on the edge of your couch while trying to balance the rate at which your heart beats.

    Synopsis

A nation called Panem has twelve districts, and every year, each district must provide two people, a boy and a girl, to participate in the Hunger Games, which is watched by everyone in all of the districts.

    Screenshot_20240618-200336_1.png

For the 74th Hunger Games, the people are gathered and chosen by lot who will go to the games. Sadly, Primrose, the twelve-year-old sister of Katniss Everdeen, is chosen to go alongside a boy, Peeta. Katniss, protective and scared that her sister is too young, volunteers to go instead.

    Screenshot_20240618-200418_1.png

The Hunger Games is an event that came into existence to keep the provinces in check as a punishment for their uprising. Here, two tributes are chosen from each of the twelve districts of Panem to fight to the death, until a lone victor remains and is crowned winner.

The game is tough, and every participant must fight for survival using the tactics and skills they learned before the game kick-started. Katniss, who had promised her sister to win, faces challenges, and the toughest of them is that she has to kill the one guy who likes her and whom she likes as well. Will she kill him and win, or will they commit suicide and beat the hosts at their own game?

    My Review and Rating

One thing I admire about this film is its setting and scenery. I love movies that are set in dystopian societies.

Inasmuch as the happenings in the film are cruel and very violent, I enjoyed the scenery and the survival instinct of Katniss. She stood out completely in the film, devouring her role and giving beauty to the rest of the characters.

    Screenshot_20240618-200146_1.png

At first, the storyline almost looked like that of Squid Game, but I think I'd pick this one over Squid Game; this judgment is subjective, and that's because the lead character is female. Plus, the softness yet firmness and determination that emanates from her personality is admirable.

Another thing I love so much about the film is the suspense I felt as the characters tried to survive. The violence in this film, in my opinion, is at its peak and isn't suitable for younger viewers. I shrieked at the sight of blood, and it got worse when a twelve-year-old, who had no one to volunteer for her like Katniss did for her sister, was killed in the game. Katniss had tried to protect her, but sadly, she couldn't protect her for too long.

One upsetting thing about the film is the young children, around twelve years old, who were forcefully picked to join the Hunger Games. That was absolutely too much for me to take in psychologically.

I really want to get a hold of a copy of the novel this film was based on so I can compare the actions and weigh the violence.

All in all, I'd rate it a solid 4.5/5. It offers a cinematic experience with a great storyline and visually pleasing cinematography. I also heard it's the first installment in the Hunger Games series, so I'm looking forward to watching the other installments with hopes that they're just as good.

Hello friends, I'm here with another interesting movie title The Hunger Games and I would like to share you with here.

The movie is about Katniss volunteers to replace her sister in a tournament that ends when only one participant remains. Pitted against contestants who have trained for this all their life, she has little to rely on.

It begins, Panem is a nation divided into 12 districts, ruled from the Capitol.

As punishment for a failed revolt many years before, each district must annually choose two tributes, one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18, to fight to the death in the Hunger Games.

The event is televised across the Capitol and all districts until only one victor remains.

After her younger sister, Primrose, is selected, Katniss Everdeen of District 12 volunteers to take her place in the 74th Hunger Games.

She and fellow tribute Peeta Mellark are escorted to the Capitol by their chaperone Effie Trinket and mentor Haymitch Abernathy, the Games' only living winner from District 12.

Haymitch stresses the importance of gaining sponsors, as they can provide potentially life-saving gifts during the Games.

During a televised interview with Caesar Flickerman, Peeta confesses his feelings for Katniss, which she initially sees as an attempt to attract sponsors; she later learns his feelings are genuine.

At the start of the Games, Katniss grabs supplies scattered around the Cornucopia, the Games' starting point, before fleeing into the surrounding forests and narrowly escaping death.

She tries to distance herself from other tributes, but Seneca Crane, the Head Game maker, triggers a forest fire to drive her back towards them.

She runs into the Careers – composed of District 1's tributes, Marvel and Glimmer, and District 2's tributes, Cato and Clove – and climbs a tree.

Peeta, seemingly allied with the Careers, suggests they wait her out. Rue, District 11's female tribute, signals Katniss towards a nest of genetically modified venomous wasps.

Which Katniss cuts to fall onto the sleeping Careers below; Glimmer is killed, while Peeta and the others escape.

Katniss retrieves Glimmer's bow but falls ill from being stung several times. Peeta returns and urges her to flee before making his own escape from the Careers.

Rue helps Katniss recover, and the two become friends and allies.

Rue distracts the Careers while Katniss destroys a stockpile of their supplies by triggering the mines guarding it.

However, Marvel fatally impales Rue with his spear just as Katniss shoots him.

She comforts Rue by singing, and after she dies, adorns her body with flowers, an act which incites a riot in District 11.

Panem President Coriolanus Snow warns Crane he is displeased about the unrest, stating the Games' purpose is to instill fear to prevent future uprisings.

Haymitch persuades Crane to alter the rules of the Games, allowing for two victors if they are from the same district, suggesting that it would appease the audience.

Katniss finds Peeta severely injured, and the two take shelter in a cave.

Despite Peeta's protests, Katniss leaves to get medicine at the Cornucopia.

She is ambushed and overpowered by Clove, who gloats about Rue's death before preparing the killing blow.

Thresh, District 11's male tribute, intervenes and kills Clove.

He spares Katniss honouring Rue. Katniss returns to the cave with the medicine and tends to Peeta, whose wounds heal overnight.

While out hunting for food, Katniss hears a cannon blast, signaling a death.

She rushes to Peeta, who has unwittingly collected deadly night lock berries.

The two find Fox face's body, District 5's female tribute, poisoned by the night lock berries she had gathered while watching Peeta.

As the Games draw to a close, Crane unleashes genetically modified beasts that kill Thresh and force Katniss, Peeta, and Cato – the final tributes – to climb onto the Cornucopia's roof.

Cato grabs Peeta in a headlock; Katniss shoots his hand, allowing Peeta to throw him into the beasts below. Katniss then shoots Cato to end his suffering.

Find out what happened next as Katniss then shoots Cato to end his suffering as the movie gets interesting.

    Thanks for reading my post.

The Hunger Games, Source of Image Edited with Paint

The Hunger Games is a film with the essence of Big Brother, I like these types of stories with a humanity dominated by fear because despite being a story that comes from the imagination, they have a core that is inspired by the social slavery that we live in the real life.

In this first film of four, the story presents us with Katniss Everdeen, a young woman cold as an iceberg, apathetic to social relationships, but these details do not mean that she is not a good friend, a good sister, Jennifer Lawrence conveys to me how dry of the character and the hype moments that will develop as the film progresses.

It reminds me of a Juana de Arco, perhaps it is inspired by this character from real history and it would be a good source of inspiration because the weapon that dominates is the bow and arrow, although in this specific film it does not manage to completely transmit power to me. with this weapon.

What does get to me is her aesthetics and style when using her, Lawrence is a beautiful and exotic Caucasian, her face at times seems like plastic to me and this does not repel me but it is because these faces are very peculiar, I leave this as perception and taste Personally, the actress made me fall in love with her because of her physical characteristics.

    image.png

    image.png

    Source of Image

Returning to the society aspect, some bases are mentioned with which I agree, many things can be said but the best way to manipulate and control people is fear, I like this as the premise of the story but I do not perceive it that way in the film because it is called the Hunger Games but there are very few that could be considered sacrifices to start a social rise and overthrow the oppressor.

I see the hunger, I see the dirt, I see suffering but I don't see that the trigger is solid, I think that if masses of hundreds of people were handled for what the game is, it would convince me more as a trigger but so few people, I don't see that a country could rise up against the maker of the game with this structure.

Now what does come to me as a trigger is another well-planned element and it is the martyr, the staging with a symbol, a sign with a hand, this definitely comes to me and Lawrence transmits it, these are the moments in which I see a powerful protagonist who only needs the conviction to set everything on fire for freedom.

I ended up liking Peeta Mellark as the damsel in distress of the story, she is the one who must be saved even above society, this could be considered positive or negative since in my case it makes the story focus only on the two of them and I forgot about what society suffers, which takes a back seat, so seeing it like that and because I liked the character, I see it positively.

    image.png

    image.png

Source of Image Edited with Paint

The negative of the above is that we forget about the society that is lost in a story like Romeo and Juliet, so those bases are lost to me, I need to see more of the suffering of people in these hunger games because I don't see it. , a society of millions of people comes to mind, so seeing it like this the argument that justifies their suffering is very weak.

Maybe that is my mistake, I approach society wrong and maybe they are much less than I think, a population of thousands could suffer from what is proposed in games but millions do not convince me.

Regardless of the above, I was greatly entertained by the story, seeing Peeta as a princess to be saved was always pleasant to me because, unlike the protagonist, he as a character does reflect a lot, transmits concern and is not as cold as his companion, he also adapts to the I play in my own way and the way it happens is pleasing, he really is a character for whom one thinks I hope they save him haha.

    image.png

    image.png

    Source of Image

The villain part is present but very vaguely because of course it is the first film of several, so I can understand that there is a major villain that emerges in the following films but in this one there has to be something that is solidly opposed to our heroes and I don't see it, I see rivals but I don't see someone I hate, so that means the ending doesn't fully reach me.

In the third act, the villains do not reach me at all, but if love does reach me, the sacrifice of one for the other, I do see that, I liked what I saw and the feeling was enjoyable and logical because it shows weakness. of the system since they do not control anything as they believed.

I perceived the absurdity of the social classes and it was good for this first film, I would like to see more because in real life what moves the world are the investors, even projects lose their horizon to satisfy the sponsors so to see that they named this, I saw it as appropriate and coherent, that is, there are rules but sponsors can break them and save lives if they know how to get to the core of those people and win their affection.

A film that I give 6 out of 10, entertaining, visually it has moments that please which have to do with the fire of freedom and also a sentimental moment that does reach me, it's just that there is not enough time to get to know the characters more so that it would affect more but this is left behind in the sequel which is powerful to the nth degree.

I dedicate each and every one of my posts and videos to my little dog named princess, we called her chiquito, she is no longer with us but from heaven she will see that her existence was valuable and the most beautiful thing that will exist in my heart and soul.

Hello Internet people, is everything okay? Today I want to talk about one of the few teen dystopian movies that are good since most of them are pretty bad (yes, Maze Runner I look at you) and don't get me wrong, Maze Runner is an excellent literary saga, the books are extremely good but its adaptations to the big screen are a complete disaster. I haven't read the Hunger Games books, so I can't make a comparison, but one thing I'm sure of is that the movie series alone doesn't disappoint. Without further ado, let's get started.

The main thing that personally attracted me to the film is the story, and that is that although this adolescent dystopia ended up becoming a cliché, when the first book in the saga came out, it was not, that is, it was one of the pioneers in putting the genre on the table. which makes it quite original, so obviously the film carries that originality and the entire sociopolitical issue that the story deals with is not only interesting but is a reflection of what we live in the world today. The rich not only want to be richer but also to maintain their position, and that is why they devise a system that dulls the senses of the less fortunate to make them part of the system without their realizing it, but it is something that we will go into more later.

In this dystopian world this type of country is divided by 12 districts and the Capitol which is the capital and where the richest people live, after this the districts go from 1 to 12 and as the number of the district increases, so does the amount of poverty, with the last district being the poorest. Each district focuses on a specific job and is technically dedicated to providing resources to the capitol, for example, district 12 works in mining and that is where our protagonist belongs.

After a rebellion occurred many years ago, after winning the contest, the Capitol decided to create the Hunger Games as punishment, a kind of survival test where 2 (chosen) tributes from each district must fight until only one remains. No chosen tribute can back down or not accept. The winner of the games wins his/her freedom (never being elected to the games again) and also enjoys additional benefits such as moving with his/her family to the Village of the Victors (a wealthy sector of each district built by the capitol for the winners of the games) receive a lifetime payment from the capitol and enjoy high status in society.

    image.png

And it is that the leader of the capitol, as I said before, makes these people part of the system. The thing works like this: By offering them benefits that they would not reach under any other circumstances, and seeing these benefits exemplified in the winners of the games, people begin to idealize them, they see them as something normal (something like it was seen in their time the Roman circus), the people chosen do not see themselves as pieces of a huge clock, but as special people since they choose the "best" for the games and begin to imagine themselves as the victors, with a great mansion in which they can live with their family, in addition to a lifetime income without having to work more, is something that especially appeals to the inhabitants of the poorest districts. This is how they are manipulated into maintaining the system that allows those in the Capitol to be in power and live off the most unfortunate, exploiting their resources and manpower.

But what happens when the pawn or slave notices that it is precisely that? What happens when you no longer want to be? you rebels, but this can only be done when each one of the pawns becomes aware because in unity is strength, if one rebels he is punished, but if a thousand do so then there will be more chances of winning, and that is precisely what presents us with the saga, and this film is the first step, showing us a protagonist fed up with being a pawn and willing to change things.

The film's cinematography is quite good, it has interesting shots such as the subjective ones or that shaky shoulder-mounted camera that gives us a feeling of discomfort. They also do a very good job with the sound, there are scenes where Katniss is in a daze and the sound is muffled to help the viewer feel the daze. The performances were also very good, although to tell the truth they weren't great (except for Jennifer Lawrence) who I think did a wonderful job, especially when it came to drama scenes.

The staging is spectacular. I like each of the scenarios and how we are surprised to learn that the arena of the games is really that and not a real terrain, thanks to the technology of the Capitol.

    2N61tyyncFaFVtpM8rCsJzDgecVMtkz4jpzBsszXjhqan9vUjQRR2U6Wc411mxBm9tYuuMpXifV9svoZXawXh5pmX8HQxp7YfYzhqjmgtNWSD4mARxk2V5bP2KPtqm6Hjtc6dpUpXAq4.png

The truth is that it is a saga that I quite like, whether or not it is a good adaptation of the book, it understands itself, it is fun, it has a good dynamism (it never becomes boring or frantic), yes, it is true that They present two tributes per district and we barely know Peeta, we know almost nothing about his life before or during the games, except for some loose things that they show us, we don't even see what he did in his score test before starting the games, no we know almost nothing and it is practically an ornament and one more resource for our protagonist (speaking of the plot of the film and not within the story as such) the same thing happened to me with Cato, we see him at the beginning as the main antagonist but we only see a little about him, at first we see him smug (deceived and manipulated) believing himself to be the favorite of the Capitol because as a professional they give him more resources than the rest, but in the end we know that he understood that he is one of the bunch of pawns of the Capitol, that the games are nothing more than a butcher shop for the entertainment of the Capitol millionaires (something like the squid game or the Roman circus I already mentioned) but how did Cato come to this conclusion? What happened between one thought and the other being so different? We don't know, the film doesn't show us and it's an aspect that I don't like.

This year a new pre-sequel to the Hunger Games saga is about to be released, so many fans of this great story are very excited about this new production. Personally I am very anxious to see how it goes. The truth is that The Hunger Games was very successful, so Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, title of the new film in the franchise, will have a hard time to achieve something similar to its predecessor. From what I've read, this new production will be centered on what happened before what happened in the aforementioned trilogy, specifically 64 years earlier, focusing on the life of Coriolanus Snow (the evil President Panem in the Hunger Games trilogy). But the truth is that I'm not going to talk about this movie in this post, it's mostly focused on my opinion about the successful saga that preceded it.
The Hunger Games is a trilogy as I said before, which is based on the books written by Suzanne Collins. In total there are 4 movies, in which are divided the story told in the three books. Although there are four movies, it is actually a single story, divided into several parts to be taken to the big screen. This movie tells the story of some terrifying games, where the children of Panem (according to the books is the United States in ruins divided into districts) are selected to participate in these games, where in reality what they must do is fight for their lives and kill others. There are 12 districts in which for each of them are selected one for each sixth. These games were given as punishment for the rebellion that occurred years ago, which left the country in destruction, to give fear that the districts did not turn to rise against the government.
One of the things I like about this trilogy is that it shows us how human beings tend to want to destroy each other. Besides obviously the trauma that a child or young person can experience when participating in these games. They are scarred for life. The first time I saw the first installment, I liked it from the beginning, but I thought that everything was there, I never imagined that more movies would come out, but when I realized it I was very happy, so I saw them all, since they had all come out when I had the opportunity to see the Hunger Games 1. In this review I will talk a little about each of the films, what they left me, what I thought of each of the aspects of them and finally I will decide which one is my favorite.

    image.png Fuente | Source

The first installment is called The Hunger Games. It tells us how Katniss Everdeen, a young girl volunteers to participate in the games, after her sister was chosen in the first instance. This after knowing everything that can happen in these games, which is usually a training of the people of the Capitol, where the 12 districts are governed. But as I said initially, these games were created to put the fear to the populations and that these would not reveal more to the dictatorship lived in all Panem. In this first installment we also see Peeta, the boy who was selected by the 12th district and who would go to dispute the games with Katniss. In these games we will see many atrocities, see how people can enjoy watching these young people fight each other, see death so close, having to take the life of another human being.
The first time I saw it I thought it was of the horror genre, films that I do not like to see, not because of fear, but it is not my favorite genre, the films do not call my attention. But as I followed the story I realized how everything was different, see a production where survival is vita, we see a lot of science fiction, adventure can not miss and much less romance. I love these types of movies, it must be because of them that I have always been interested in others like Run or Die, The Fifth Wave, the Divergent saga and others. These movies are a bit similar to me and I loved each one of them, but I feel that none of them are like the Hunger Games. Jennifer Lawrence was the one who played Katniss Everdeen, while Josh Hutcherson gave life to Peeta Mellark. On the other hand we have other characters who play an important role not only in this first installment, but also in the others. Such is the case of Gale who was played by Liam Hemsworth, Haymitch by Woody Harrelson, among many others. The truth is that I liked the work of these actors and such was the success of this film in the cinema, that these same actors were maintained throughout the saga.
This first edition of the Hunger Games I really liked its story, the truth is that I was totally caught, I knew how to connect with each of the characters, especially with the story of Katniss and Peeta. Like all action and science fiction movies we can find many special effects to recreate the scenes. Really both the director Gary Ross, the production and the departments in charge, did a job that I would say is impeccable. Another aspect to highlight are the scenery and the music of the soundtrack. This being the first movie, I am very fond of it, so much so that every time I see it on TV when it is being shown, I don't hesitate to watch it again. This was a great start for the trilogy.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is the second installment of the trilogy. Here it all begins when Katniss and Peeta win the hunger games, they have the privilege of returning home, as the winners. But when they think that everything is fine, that they will give their victory trip in a very quiet way, this is not so, the story is changing from one moment to another, testing our two main characters of this story. President Snow fears a new rebellion so he organizes a new hunger games in celebration of 75 years of its creation, so he wants to eliminate everyone who gets in his way, so he selects the previous winners of the games. All this has everyone upset. That is to say that this plot is mainly focused on El Vasallaje, as that edition of the games is known.
I liked this new movie, especially the twists in the story. The actors who give life to the characters are the same as the first edition of the Hunger Games, I think there is no change, at least among the main characters, but also note the appearance of new characters, the winners of previous games, highlighting Finnick played by Sam Claflin, Johanna Mason by Jena Malone, Beetee by Jeffrey Wright, among many others. The same goes for me with the special effects, sets and music, all very well done as the first film. All this despite the change in direction. Remember that in the first film the director was Gary Ross, while for this second one Francis Lawrence, who worked in films like I am Legend, Constantine, the land of dreams and among others, was in charge. Although I must confess that I have seen Constantine and I am Legend. Of course, I have also seen The Hunger Games, that's why I'm talking today about this famous trilogy, which had great success in the cinema.

    Final Opinion
The Hunger Games is a very successful saga, I love the story it tells. A person can live many things, but this can also inspire others, it can fan the flame for wanting to end tyranny. Other things I liked about this trilogy is that the plot in each of the films we never know what will happen, apart from the action, the adventure, there is always the suspense of how the story will end for each of the most iconic characters, even we get many surprises, including an ending that I never expected, but it is that well in each of the films I never expected the end that happened, but this is one of the things why this production based on the science fiction story of Suzanne Collins. Now, after all that said, I can conclude that according to my experience and personal opinion the first movie was my favorite. This is because it was the first one, where it all started, but I must say that I liked all the movies, each one of them with epic scenes and with endings that I never expected. The Hunger Games is one of my favorite sagas. I enjoyed it a lot and that's what's important.

The Hunger Games is a science fiction and drama film starring Jennifer Lawrence, it was very well received and praised by critics for its softened violence but according to what was wanted to be represented, it is a work of art.

In this we see the nation of Panem divided into 12 districts governed by the Capitol. Each district annually is forced to send two young people (a man and a woman) between 12 and 18 years of age, as a form of punishment for a failed rebellion.

Katniss Everdeen 16 years old is offered as a tribute because her younger sister came out in the draw, she is from district 12, which she goes with ** Peeta Mellark ** as representatives of this district. Before the game begins, they are presented to all the organizers of this game, it is important that they are loved by the public, since this gives them sponsors, things that being there can save their lives.

The game consists of 24 young people fighting to survive, some kill each other, others flee, others make alliances but in the end only one is the winner, that is, only one young person is saved. There are young people who train them from a young age to offer themselves as tribute, but the vast majority are chosen at random and many do not have survival skills.

As the game progresses and several players die, the world they are in becomes smaller, so that they cannot escape, they are also sent animals, poisonous plants, forest storms, among other things, that is, apart from don't let them kill you you have to be careful with your surroundings.

Although it's a movie from 10 years ago, try not to give spoilers 🥺 this movie is too good, I remember that I saw it several times, I don't remember where I could see it often, if it was on CD or on some platform, but I remember that as much as I saw it, it always caught me and also caused me certain scares, there is a part that always caused me a little trauma, which is when some die from the sting of some wasps (genetically modified to be more than deadly wasps) and show grotesquely how they were.

This is the first movie of a saga, these were:

    • The Hunger Games
    • The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
    • The Hunger Games: Mockingjay (Part I)
    • The Hunger Games: Mockingjay (Part II)

And although the entire saga was very good, none was like the first, I remember that I only saw those once or twice, because I felt that the story did not catch that much, but without a doubt it is a perfect saga to marathon a weekend ✨

  9. The Hunger Games (2012)@minhajulmredol1452d

Those who watch movies regularly are pretty common to have a watchlist. Did you get a good recommendation? add to that list otherwise you might forget about that later. So for a long time, I have been adding, removing, or you can say forgetting to put my hands into them. I don't know how things get messed up and I end up losing my watchlists. At least I have started watching another popular trilogy which has four installments in total and here I am with the first one.

The Hunger Games, first one is a sci-fi, action genre film but I would like to present it more like a survival movie. This one is directed by Gary Rose and is based on a novel written by Suzanne Collins.

I really like how a big part of the initial runtime was spent to present to us the reason behind these Hunger Games which have been going on for years, we have seen the 76th one. So the plot is set in a dystopian post-apocalyptic time, where a nation consisting of 12 districts is put into a game for survival as a result of a failed revolt done by the 13th district which is now destroyed. So every year, the Capitol which holds the center power of the country organizes a game where a young boy and a young girl from each district are brought to make them compete against each other, and in the end, one comes alive from those twenty-four.

See, this is the initial plot, as a center of our attraction, we get an initial character of Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, who willingly volunteers for this game in exchange for her younger sister who was randomly selected. From the same district 12, we get a boy, Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark, accompanying Katniss but the surprising part is he has a huge crush on her, he kinda loves and on the other hand, she doesn't, she was a hunter.

The thing is to notice how they fight for their survival, only one coming out as victorious, Petta and Katniss, what's going to happen between them? Some chemistry of love won't be bad, right? Also, some districts particularly train their candidates for this game, to come out victorious every year.

The people in charge of the capital have turned this game into a live tv-show, their rules, their sponsors to bet on the candidates, and so on. But the ending looks like it wasn't in favor of them, why so? Hehehe, there is a twist by them in the game that seemed to backfire on them.

Overall the first installment was good enough to watch, enjoyed it. You may link this to the recent popular tv-show Squid Games on Netflix. It's a recent one but Hunger Games are from 2012, I wish I had watched them earlier. Well, it's better to be late than never. I will be going for the next ones soon, if you are planning to watch then go for it, worth watching.

  10. The Hunger Games@beejayjung2994d

The Hunger Games is a 2012 American science fiction action-adventure film directed by Gary Ross and based on the novel of the same name by Suzanne Collins. It is the first installment in The Hunger Games film series and was produced by Nina Jacobson and Jon Kilik, with a screenplay by Ross, Collins, and Billy Ray. The film stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Lenny Kravitz, Stanley Tucci, and Donald Sutherland.[5] The story takes place in a dystopian post-apocalyptic future in the nation of Panem, which is divided into 12 districts, where a boy and a girl from each district, between the ages of 12 and 18 must take part in The Hunger Games, a televised annual event in which the "tributes" of each district are required to fight to the death until there is only one survivor. Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) volunteers to take her younger sister's place. With her district's male tribute, Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson), Katniss travels to the Capitol to train for the Hunger Games under the guidance of former victor Haymitch Abernathy (Woody Harrelson). image

  11. Movie Review: The Hunger Games@thatanimesnob3035d

So I finished watching all 4 Hunger Game movies and my overall impressions of them are very negative. Like any typical teen oriented story it has an evil government, and pretty looking teenagers who are constantly victimized for cheap feels.

It gets worse by having a setting that makes no sense in the way it is run. Why do the rich need the poor when they have technology that can materialize anything they like? And don’t give me that crap about, it’s a plot device and you should accept it as it is. It’s a legit reason of why this whole thing shouldn’t exist.

Although they try to make it seem like the capital is keeping the districts under control through the hunger games, so its citizens can keep living in luxury, it ends up being more like they are torturing innocent people because they have all their needs covered and are bored out of their minds.

Why are they even randomly selecting the participants when someone can simply volunteer to take part in the damn tournament? He can be preparing all year for it, thus maximizing the chances of success while making the games more exiting, instead of being some worthless crybaby.

Most of the second movie was a complete waste of time. The next hunger games was a troll, since despite the buildup regarding previous winners facing each other, almost everybody died out of screen before the whole thing is interrupted and rebellion breaks out. They could have skipped it entirely and nothing would have changed.

The third movie tries to make things grey by presenting both sides equally devastated by the civil war. Using the main heroine for propaganda while making her doubt the sacrifices that need to be made for a future that might not be better without the capital was actually a good concept.

And a good concept is all it was since eventually the bad guys are still clearly bad. They bomb a hospital full of civilians, they mind control innocents to be their agents, and their leader is laughing satanically when everything is going according to his evil masterplan.

Also, the last specs of realism went to hell, when the heroine destroys two airplane bombers with a simple bow. Something hundreds of others couldn’t do with machineguns. And don’t give me crap that just because we see it happening means we should accept it as possible. There is no logical explanation behind all this besides a lazy attempt at making it cool.

Besides the last 15 minutes, the final movie was again a waste of time filled with magical booby traps and elementary politics. It left me bored and angry, it’s a pile of horseshit, and just like Harry Potter yet another example of why casuals have no critical thinking at all for loving such ridiculous books. But then again all it takes to call something mature and deep, is to have pretty children being tortured and killed by evil adults. Hooray for quality in writing.
