Before jumping to anything, my question to you is,
“Will you miss Henry Cavill in the next season? If yes, then how much?”
As long as season four isn't being aired, I can't really accept the fact that the face of Geralt of Rivia won't be the same anymore; I really can't imagine anyone else as the Witcher instead of Henry Cavill. Things may change if the story and performance can make the fans satisfied enough to adapt to the changes.
Due to many reasons, I am late to the party; I finally completed watching the second part of season 3, the last three episodes, and the end of Henry Cavill as the Witcher. I haven't written anything after the first part; why? I didn't enjoy that at its peak or up to my expectations, but the second part has mixed feelings, and the farewell of one of my favorite characters demands a write-up to remember the feelings.
The Witcher Season 3 Part One starts and continues with Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri on a run; they are running on and on together, trying to stay undiscovered by the search parties to track Ciri. In the meantime, Yennefer was trying to teach Ciri how to control her immense power. Another main focus was on the politics centering the brotherhood, with lots of conspiracies as well. By the end of part two, aka season 3, we see the destruction of politics and the reveal of the traitors.
As these last three episodes were really special for me to see Henry Cavill for the last time as Witcher, his screen time was limited, mostly on the bed being badly wounded in the combat against Vilgefortz. Also, Ciri ate almost a whole episode in the desert, running here and there following a unicorn; trust me, I had to play fast-forward during these scenes a few times.
Well, to have a little bit of contentment, we did see Geralt in action for the last time while engaging with the troops of Nilfgaardians. At the end of the scene, we did see him leaving behind Renfri’s brooch, which he got in the first season; maybe this was the farewell of Henry Cavill as well. Also, another suspense is Ciri, addressing herself as Falka. In the desert scenes, we do see a character named Falka; from the stories, Ciri knows how powerful and ruthless she is, and she encourages Ciri to go limitless with her powers as well. In the end, Ciri tells her name as Falka, so the chaos is waiting for us in the next season.
In short, this season was a little bit time-consuming instead of the fast-paced actions we loved or expected. Lots of politics and stuff like that, and one or two episodes to satisfy the thirst. Also, the last appearance of Henry Cavill can't be missed by any of his fans, nor did I.
So, if you have watched the first two seasons, then go for it. I hope you won't regret much. Let us sit tight with the fact to see a new face; how much he fulfills the place is a debate waiting ahead of us.
