Assassination Nation o como se conoce en Latinoamérica, Nación Asesina es una película de comedia negra y suspenso, escrita y dirigida por Sam Levinson, la cual se estreno en 2018. La historia sigue a un grupo de amigas de Salem, Massachusetts, que tienen una vida normal hasta que un hacker comienza a causar estragos en la ciudad y sus vidas se ven unidas a ese caos.

Contexto

La protagonista principal es Lily Colson (Odessa Young) una chica inteligente, hermosa y sabe como desenvolverse entre las personas, no es cohibida, ni tiene miedo de espesar sus opiniones, aunque eso la meta en problemas. Ella y sus amigas están en pleno apogeo de la adolescencia y las hormonas. Nos muestra la vida normal que comparten estas jóvenes, con los problemas típicos de la edad que atraviesan, sexo, fiestas, drogas, familia, escuela, redes sociales y demás, también nos muestra un poco de sus emociones y retos que enfrentan como individuos, además de sus errores y fallos, ninguna de ellas esta libre de pecado. Sin embargo, no son malas personas, son solamente adolescentes experimentando y aprendiendo de la vida, en ocasiones de la mala manera.

Las cosas parecen ir bien en el pueblo hasta que un hacker anónimo filtra información personal del alcalde de la ciudad, donde se revela sus verdaderos justos sexuales, esto actúa como cualquier escandalo de la vida real, como un boom! mediático, memes, chistes, acoso, gente al favor, gente al contra, gente que solo opinan y otros solo queriendo ver el mundo arder. El alcalde al no poder aguantar la presión decide acabar con su vida ante todos. Al poco tiempo las cosas parecen calmarse, y las sospechas de que puede ser un estudiante, de la preparatoria local, el causante de todo el mal comienza retumbar entre las autoridades.

Todo vuelve a iniciar pero esta vez es el director de la preparatoria quien esta dentro del huracán. Este es una buena persona, padre, esposo y profesor, que se preocupa mucho por sus estudiantes, pero toman toda su vida como un show para sacar lo peor hasta el punto de distorsionar los hechos para culparlo de algo que es inocente, y con eso el pueblo clama su cabeza en una lanza. Desde aquí el hacker se vuelve imparable y revela la información de mas de medio pueblo, causando lo esperado, caos. La gente pide respuestas, justicia por sus agresiones pero siguen sin dar con el culpable.

Lily nuestra protagonista comienza a sentirse mas afectada con estas filtraciones, ya que el tipo con el que tenia sexting fue expuesto, haciendo que sus fotos intimas brillaran en internet, luego Mark el novio de la protagonista al descubrir su error no duda en exponerla también. Sus padres la repudian y es acosada por sujetos que quieren hacerle daño, al final logra salir de la situación y refugiarse con una de sus amigas. Los problemas apenas inician cuando la gente comienza tomar justicia con sus propias manos, por los secretos revelados, traición, infidelidad, daño y verdades son expuestas en este pequeño pueblo.

La casería de brujas era inminente, un grupo de hombres enojados y con mascara buscan a cualquiera que pueda ser el culpable, sin pruebas, ni razón. Lily es inculpada por un chico de su escuela, quien solo quería huir de la turba que lo iba linchar. La atacan a ella y sus amigas, pero la mitad logra de escapar gracias al sacrificio de la madre de una de ellas, Lily se refugia con quien hacia sexting ( el padre de una niña que cuidaba) este la traiciona, solo quería acostarse con ella para entregarla, ya que es miembro de los hombres con mascara. Ella usa su ingenio para escapar y acabarlo, en el lugar descubre una gran cantidad de armas, que usa para ayudar a sus amigas en problemas.

Ya con todas a salvo, se preparan para la horrible noche que les espera, medio pueblo las quieren ver muertas, así que lanzan un comunicado directo hacia esa personas, donde expresan su opinión sobre el tema, muchas chicas se unen a su causa y enfrentan a los agresores. A la mañana siguen se descubre al hacker culpable de todo, es el hermano menor de Lily, Donny el cual fue capturado por la policía.

Opinión y Análisis

La verdad no tenia expectativa iniciales con esta película, en ocasiones solo veo algo al azar porque me gusto el diseño del poster, sin leer sinopsis o ver el genero, solo para ir descubriendo de a poco el ritmo y la trama, en ocasiones termino decepcionada pero otras, como en esta ocasión termino muy satisfecha con el resultado.

En general me encanto la historia, tiene un diseño atrayente, una paleta de colores que en lo personal me agrada. Juegan mucho con captar varias escenas al mismo tiempo, dividiendo la pantalla para eso, es como si tuviéramos varias pestañas abiertas en una computadora y las viéramos al unísono.

El mensaje que trasmite es Feminista y liberador, yo como mujer me sentí identificada con varios sucesos y también indignada con otros. No vamos a mentir la sociedad, es injusta y tiende a ser machista, cuando un video sexual se filtra la que paga muy caro es la mujer mientras el hombre sigue su vida casi con normal, y eso no esta bien. La película también enmarca otras injusticias y agresiones que viven miles de mujeres en todo el mundo y que la sociedad normaliza.

Otra cosa que trata mucho el films es la sexualidad, el tabú que tenemos hacia ella en la sociedad, el secretismo que hay por el cuerpo desnudo además de como ocultamos nuestro verdadero ser, al mismo tiempo que juramos ser auténticos y reales. Eso sin contra el daño que podemos y hacemos con las redes sociales, no hay que negar el internet sin duda en un arma de doble filo.

Me gusto como usaron las redes sociales, se sentía orgánico y natural, muy realista toda la influencia que genera, además teniendo conocimiento de la facilidad con la que el internet puede destruir la vida de una persona, es muy creable. También retrata ese miedo a la violación de la intimidad en las redes y lo perjudicial que es.

La sexual ida de la que se habla en la película es la femenina, se toma como algo normal pero al mismo tiempo prohibido, como en la vida misma, incentivan a la jóvenes a conocer sus cuerpos pero al descubrir que ellas lo hacen, se escandalizan con el hecho. Hay un mensaje, de la protagonista, con el que concorde totalmente y es que estamos cansadas de que nos digan que hacer, no hay un manual de como ser mujer, entonces ¿por que debemos inventarnos uno?

En fin, la recomiendo para los que no la han visto , aunque aconsejo revisar muy bien el contenido antes de verla, ya que toca temas sensibles para algunas personas, por el resto es muy genial.

Opinion and Analysis

The truth is that I had no initial expectations with this movie, sometimes I just see something randomly because I liked the poster design, without reading synopsis or see the genre, just to discover little by little the rhythm and the plot, sometimes I end up disappointed but others, as this time I end up very satisfied with the result.

In general I loved the story, it has an attractive design, a color palette that I personally like. They play a lot with capturing several scenes at the same time, dividing the screen for that, it is as if we had several tabs open on a computer and we saw them in unison.

The message it conveys is feminist and liberating, I as a woman felt identified with several events and also outraged with others. Let's not lie, society is unfair and tends to be sexist, when a sex video is leaked the one who pays dearly is the woman while the man goes on with his life almost as normal, and that is not right. The film also frames other injustices and aggressions that thousands of women live around the world and that society normalizes.

Another thing that the film deals a lot with is sexuality, the taboo that we have towards it in society, the secrecy that exists for the naked body as well as how we hide our true self, while we swear to be authentic and real. That without against the damage we can and do with social networks, there is no denying that the internet is undoubtedly a double-edged sword.
