Contexto

Guy es un sujeto agradable, que trabaja como cajero de banco junto con su mejor amigo Bobby, tiene una vida feliz en Free City, una ciudad descabellada donde hay robots, tanques de ataque, crímenes y muertes en cada esquina. Sin embargo, todo eso vuelve a la normalidad al día siguiente, esto no parece inquietar a Guy ni a sus amigos, que ven solo el lado positivo de todo el desastre. Opinion y Analisis

En general me gusto, cumple con entretener, presenta buenos efectos por computadora además tiene a Ryan Reynolds y Taika Waititi en su elenco, para mi eso suma puntos.

Su inicio me hizo pensar en The Lego Movie, Guy y el protagonista de esta otra película se parecen mucho, además su rutina es casi la misma, así que mi cerebro todavía me bordea con la canción de Everything Is AWESOME!!! de Lego. En fin, aparte de eso podemos ver un parecido con The Truman Show pero mas futurista, y una clara referencia a la saga de video juegos Grand Theft Auto.

Esta película la esperaba en el 2020 hasta que fue pospuesta por la pandemia, lo que me hizo olvidarla y su estreno paso inadvertido por mi. No se, esperaba mas referencia a la cultura Pop y los chistes de Reynolds me parecieron mas infantiles e inocentes de lo usual, en general me gusta su humor, así que esta vez me decepciono un poco. Otra cosa que no me gusto fue su antagonista, realmente no se como actúa un CEO de una compañía de programación de juegos, pero no me lo imagino así, fue algo exagerado y extraño, en algunos sujetos estos aspectos quedan bien. Sin embargo, este no fue el caso.

Además creo que fue excesivo el impacto en que los juegos afectan al mundo real, claro que lo hacen, pero esto queda en internet es su mayoría, y una que otra mención en medios mas formales, como el noticiero o el periódico, ya que horas y horas continuas de trasmisión sobre un juego de internet es poco relevante para este tipo de plataformas. Al final, podías apreciar a gente de todo el mundo, viendo en sus casa como el protagonista corría a través del mar para descubrir otra realidad, obviamente una referencia a The Truman Show, aunque sin un mensaje tan fuerte o contundente, no se si es por el enfoque de la película o porque no tiene su encanto. Creo que pudieron redirigir la trama a algo mas complejo, en cambio jugaron a lo mas comercial para entretener.

A pesar de todo, hay momentos en los que me divertí viéndola y me identifique con algunos escenarios, especialmente el comportamiento que tiene los usuarios hacia el juego, son cosas que yo misma hago cuando juego.

Si quieres ver algo entretenido podrías apreciarla, tiene su propio atractivo y nos planea la pregunta "¿Qué pasaría si un NPC cobrara conciencia?" lo que puede captar nuestro interés fácilmente, para mi es de estas películas que ves por consumismo, no con un fin de análisis, reflexión o arte, sino para distraerte y tal vez desfrutarla en familia.

Overall I liked it, it delivers on entertaining, features good computer effects plus it has Ryan Reynolds and Taika Waititi in its cast, for me that adds up to points.

Its beginning made me think of The Lego Movie, Guy and the main character of this other movie look a lot alike, plus their routine is almost the same, so my brain is still bordering on the song Everything Is AWESOME!!! from Lego. Anyway, apart from that we can see a resemblance to The Truman Show but more futuristic, and a clear reference to the Grand Theft Auto video game saga.

I was expecting this movie in 2020 until it was postponed due to the pandemic, which made me forget about it and its release went unnoticed by me. I don't know, I was expecting more pop culture references and Reynolds' jokes seemed more childish and innocent than usual, in general I like his humor, so this time I was a little disappointed. Another thing I didn't like was his antagonist, I really don't know how a CEO of a game programming company acts, but I can't imagine him like that, it was a bit exaggerated and strange, in some subjects these aspects look good. However, this was not the case.

I also think it was excessive the impact that games affect the real world, of course they do, but this remains mostly on the internet, and an occasional mention in more formal media, such as the news or the newspaper, since hours and hours of continuous broadcasting about an internet game is not very relevant for this type of platforms. At the end, you could appreciate people from all over the world, watching at home as the protagonist ran across the sea to discover another reality, obviously a reference to The Truman Show, although without such a strong or forceful message, I don't know if it's because of the focus of the film or because it doesn't have its charm. I think they could have redirected the plot to something more complex, instead they played to the more commercial to entertain.

In spite of everything, there are moments when I had fun watching it and I identified with some scenarios, especially the behavior of the users towards the game, these are things that I do myself when I play the game.

If you want to see something entertaining you could appreciate it, it has its own appeal and it raises the question "What would happen if an NPC became conscious?" which can easily capture our interest, for me it is one of these movies that you see for consumerism, not with a purpose of analysis, reflection or art, but to distract you and maybe enjoy it with the family.
