Antes que nada debo decir que a pesar de considerarme una persona que le gusta mucho la navidad, casi nunca me siento a ver películas navideñas, eso tampoco impide el que no tenga películas que me gusten o que me gustaba ver en esta época del año, lamentablemente esas películas son muy difíciles de volver a ver y creo que por eso que he dejado pasar lo que seguramente son muy buenas nuevas historias, pero como en la comunidad de **"Movies & TV Shows"** crearon un concurso "[The Movies & TV Shows Community Christmas Contest!](https://peakd.com/hive-166847/@moviesonhive/the-movies-and-tv-shows-community-christmas-contest…)", en dónde debemos nombrar nuestras películas navideñas favoritas, decidí que para mí participación (primera) no lo hiciera con una de mis favoritas, sino con una nueva que inmediatamente se convirtió en una de las mejores películas de esta época muy festiva que he visto.

First of all I must say that despite considering myself a person who likes Christmas very much, I almost never sit down to watch Christmas movies, that also does not prevent me from not having movies that I like or that I liked to see at this time of year, unfortunately those movies are very difficult to re-watch and I think that's why I have passed up what are surely very good new stories, but as in the community of**"Movies & TV Shows"** crearon un concurso "[The Movies & TV Shows Community Christmas Contest!](https://peakd.com/hive-166847/@moviesonhive/the-movies-and-tv-shows-community-christmas-contest…)" , where we must name our favorite Christmas movies, I decided that for my participation (first) I would not do it with one of my favorites, but with a new one that immediately became one of the best movies of this very festive season that I have seen.
"8-Bit Christmas" es un nuevo film navideño estrenado ya hace unas semanas tras en la plataforma de HBOMax; en este film veremos la historia de Jack Doyle, un padre de familia el cual en el día más festivo del año trata de generar un lazo con su hija mayor que está completamente obsesionada por tener un teléfono celular y por eso cree que para que su navidad sea perfecta, su padre debe regalar un teléfono y así ella puede ser feliz, el padre piensa de forma diferente y cree que está es una gran oportunidad para enseñarle una lección y por eso le relata una gran historia en dónde está envuelto época navideña, amigos y un plan para obtener el regalo perfecto.
"8-Bit Christmas" is a new Christmas film released a few weeks ago on the HBOMax platform; in this film we will see the story of Jack Doyle, a father who on the most festive day of the year tries to generate a bond with his eldest daughter who is completely obsessed with having a cell phone and therefore believes that for her Christmas to be perfect, her father should give her a phone so she can be happy, the father thinks differently and believes that this is a great opportunity to teach her a lesson and therefore tells her a great story where Christmas time is involved, friends and a plan to get the perfect gift.
La Navidad se disfruta de manera diferente en varias partes del mundo por ejemplo en Latinoamérica se vive desde un día antes; cuando era niño disfrutaba mucho, era llegar la noche del 24 de diciembre y salir a divertirme con mis amigos y cuando era casi la medianoche, a pocos minutos para que fuera 25 de diciembre, corría a mi casa para poder abrir mis regalos, después de eso la adrenalina bajaba y caía dormido para después en la mañana del 25 no dejar de jugar, esto lo escribo desde la nostalgia, ya que la Navidad en este momento tiene otro significado para mí porque ahora de adulto trato que los más jóvenes de mi familia puedan disfrutar de igual forma o más de lo que yo disfrute, todo esto lo escribo porque al ver este film me hizo pensar que no importa como pasemos estos días, siempre hay una forma para disfrutar y ser feliz, es por eso que elegí está película para ser mi primera participación en este concurso, está historia está llena de nostalgia, de revivir buenos momentos y eso lo entendió de muy buena manera el director Michael Dowse, tomó todo film hecho en los 80' y principio de los 90' y uso todo eso para crear muy divertidas y buenas escenas, escenas clásicas, humor físico, tonto, pero muy efectivo para esta película.
El guion fue realizado por Kevin Jakubowski, basado en la novela escrita por él y que lleva el mismo nombre; si hay algo que me sorprendió de esta película es justamente su historia la cual considero perfecta porque el relato de un niño con todas sus vivencias, las aventuras junto a sus amigos, con todo lo que hace para convencer a sus padres para obtener el regalo perfecto, con todo eso pareciera que el guion lo fuera escrito yo; es impresionante como esta historia de Jakubowski me hizo recordar a cada niño, a cada amigo que conocí en esa época y es por eso que me sentí tan identificado, ahora con lo que tiene que ver con la parte de la Navidad, creo que también me sentí identificado más que nada porque de niño le exigí a mis padres buenos juguetes, algunas veces los recibí, otras veces no y cuando era un momento el de no recibir buenos regalos, siendo sincero nunca me molesté porque entendía cualquier situación por la que pasamos en mi hogar, pero con eso nunca nos faltó lo importante, pasar una buena navidad, estar con mis padres y hermano y claro de igual forma disfrutar de estos días.
Christmas is enjoyed differently in different parts of the world, for example in Latin America it is lived from one day before; When I was a child I enjoyed a lot, I used to arrive the night of December 24th and go out to have fun with my friends and when it was almost midnight, a few minutes before December 25th, I would run home to open my presents, after that the adrenaline would go down and I would fall asleep and then in the morning of the 25th I would not stop playing, I write this from nostalgia, because Christmas at this moment has another meaning for me because now as an adult I try that the youngest of my family can enjoy the same way or more than what I enjoyed, I write all this because watching this film made me think that no matter how we spend these days, there is always a way to enjoy and be happy, that's why I chose this film to be my first participation in this contest, this story is full of nostalgia, to relive good times and that was understood in a very good way by the director Michael Dowse, he took all film made in the 80's and early 90's and used all that to create very funny and good scenes, classic scenes, physical humor, silly, but very effective for this movie.
The script was written by _**Kevin Jakubowski**_, based on the novel written by him with the same name; if there is something that surprised me about this film is precisely its story which I consider perfect because the story of a child with all his experiences, the adventures with his friends, with everything he does to convince his parents to get the perfect gift, with all that it seems that the script was written by me; it is impressive how this story of _**Jakubowski**_ made me remember every child, every friend I knew at that time and that is why I felt so identified, now with what has to do with the Christmas part, I think I also felt identified more than anything because as a child I demanded good toys from my parents, Sometimes I received them, other times I didn't and when it was a moment of not receiving good gifts, to be honest I never got upset because I understood any situation that we went through in my home, but with that we never lacked the important thing, to spend a good Christmas, to be with my parents and brother and of course to enjoy these days.
Las actuaciones son muy buenas, los niños son perfectos en este film, las expresiones, sus actuaciones en muchas escenas son las mejores, muy comprometidos y pienso que es fácil cuando debe hacer el papel justamente de lo que son, un grupo de niños dispuestos a divertirse, la versión de Jack Doyle de niño es muy buena, es un gran protagonista, Winslow Fegley es perfecto, entre él y Max Malas quien interpreta al mentiroso patológico de "Jeff Farmer" sin ninguna duda se roban el show, Farmer es un gran personaje uno de los mejores, es muy divertido; también debo nombrar a Steve Zahn como "John Doyle" padre de Jake, que gran personaje y buena actuación, es como ver a todos esos padres de las películas cómicas de los 80' muy bien escrito y actuado y parte muy principal de este film.
The performances are very good, the kids are perfect in this film, the expressions, their performances in many scenes are the best, very committed and I think it's easy when they have to play the role of just what they are, a group of kids ready to have fun, the version of Jack Doyle as a kid is very good, he is a great lead, Winslow Fegley is perfect, between him and Max Malas who plays the pathological liar of "Jeff Farmer" without any doubt they steal the show, Farmer is a great character one of the best, he is very funny; I must also mention Steve Zahn as "John Doyle" Jake's father, what a great character and good performance, it's like watching all those fathers from the 80's comic movies, very well written and acted and a very important part of this film.
Sé que en años anteriores se han estrenado buenos films navideños, pero este es uno de los mejores que he visto en un buen tiempo; personalmente soy una víctima de la nostalgia y está película su uso es perfecto; me gusta que no sea una historia predecible, esto es un gran punto positivo, destacable y eso la hace mejor y claro, que sea una historia narrada por un adulto añorando, recordando tiempos completamente divertidos la hace que sea divertida, la actuación de los niños la hace especial, la Intervención de los adultos la hace también especial, como ven la pasé muy bien viendo esta gran película con el mejor mensaje y definición de lo que realmente es la navidad y eso es lo que más me ha gustado y me parece que se perdió un gran éxito en las salas de cine porque seguramente fuera llegado a ser un éxito para estas fechas, pero de igual forma es un éxito, es una gran historia, con grandes personajes, buenas actuaciones, divertida y con un alto porcentaje de espíritu navideño y es eso lo que me hizo recordar buenos momentos y de crear nuevos con las personas que más apreció.
I know that in previous years good Christmas films have been released, but this is one of the best I've seen in a while; personally I'm a victim of nostalgia and this film is a perfect use of it; I like that it is not a predictable story, this is a great positive point, remarkable and that makes it better and of course, that it is a story told by an adult yearning, remembering completely fun times makes it fun, the performance of children makes it special, the intervention of adults also makes it special, as you can see I had a great time watching this great movie with the best message and definition of what Christmas really is and that is what I liked the most and it seems to me that it missed a great success in the movie theaters because it was surely a success for these dates, but it is still a success, it is a great story, with great characters, good performances, fun and with a high percentage of Christmas spirit and that is what made me remember good times and create new ones with the people I appreciated the most.
