Siempre he creído que en el mundo, la sociedad no escapa de cualquier evento noticioso, tal vez más ahora que antes y es por eso que ahora es poco visto que personas usen la frase "No tengo idea de lo que estás hablando" porque cualquier información está al alcance de cualquiera, cualquier información mala o buena, importante o no, verdadera o falsa; esto nos puede mantener ocupados, otra vez para bien o para mal porque nos saca del loop de una preocupación o situación y nos hace caer en otra que hasta puede ser banal, está es la vida que escogemos o nos hacen escoger y eso hace muy difícil de no ser parte de todo esto, es por eso que cada vez, en algún momento existe un libro, una editorial, un programa de tv, película biográfica, documental o ficción que nos dice una verdad o crea una crítica de lo que nos convertimos y eso por momentos crea un impacto aunque al final se transforme en lo que crítica con su mensaje.

I have always believed that in the world, society does not escape any news event, perhaps more so now than before and that is why it is now rarely seen that people use the phrase "I have no idea what you are talking about" because any information is available to anyone, any information bad or good, important or not, true or false; this can keep us busy, again for better or for worse because it takes us out of the loop of a concern or situation and makes us fall into another that may even be banal, this is the life we choose or make us choose and that makes it very difficult not to be part of all this, that is why every time, at some point there is a book, a publisher, a TV show, a biographical film, documentary or fiction that tells us a truth or creates a criticism of what we become and that at times creates an impact but in the end becomes what criticism with its message.
"Don't Look Up" es una sátira (como todo el mundo la ha clasificado), una comedia de ciencia-ficción que relata la historia de dos astrónomos, primero de "Kate Dibiasky" quien es una candidata de Michigan State University Ph.D. la cual en una noche estudiando estrellas muertas descubre un cometa que posiblemente pasará muy cerca de la Tierra, ella llama al profesor "Dr. Randall Mindy" y entre los cálculos que hacen, se dan cuenta de que el cometa impactará en la tierra dentro de 6 meses, pero lo peor es que este cometa es lo sumamente grande para destruir todo el planeta, es por eso que en ese mismo instante tanto Kate como Randall deberán comunicarse con quién ellos piensan que son las personas más preparadas en el mundo para tratar de solventar esta situación, para sorpresa de ellos, este maravilloso y horrible suceso les dará noción de lo que es el mundo, de cómo es la sociedad y sus líderes y peor aún de cómo se maneja la información, es por eso que tendrán la extraña misión de informar de esta grave situación tratando de no ser consumidos por cómo es el mundo actual.

La dirección y guion es por parte de Adam McKay, he visto varias de las películas que ha dirigido y escrito y de varios de sus proyectos me quedo con dos películas que más me han gustado, estás son "Step Brothers" (2008) y "The Other Guys" (2010) y aunque creo que tomo mucho del guion hecho por Edgar Wright en "Ant-Man" (2015), pienso que igual hizo un buen trabajo; ahora con esta película es muy claro que la historia tal como fue escrita es lo importante, me gustó el tono de humor en toda esta extensa crítica por cómo es usada la información tanto por los medios de comunicación, el gobierno, influencers, en especial en su primera hora y media de duración lo cual creo que es lo mejor porque cada escena desde el descubrimiento del cometa es todo una suma de cualquier situación que consumimos de forma diaria, en momentos era ver una serie de sketches sobre cualquier tema, político, relación de parejas, cultura pop, feminismo, masculinidad, cuidado del medio ambiente y tal vez para algunas personas pueda ser algo difícil de asimilar y lo que seguramente no haya gustado a la crítica especializada, pero a la mayoría del público en general sí que les ha gustado este tipo de comedia, este tipo de historia.
Del desempeño como director, pienso que el tiempo que tuvo McKay en el show "Saturday Night Live" le sirvió de cómo hacer su trabajo para este film y es que para mí esta película es eso, un show humorístico muy extenso, en algunos momentos era como ver una versión acción-real de "South Park" porque las situaciones son así y la manera de dirigir las escenas le da mucha más fuerza a esta opinión que tengo sobre este film, con esto no digo que sea malo, para nada, creo que no había otra forma de realizar todo esté proyecto y es por eso que ha servido para muchas personas y para los actores que protagonizan el film, ya que tiene momentos importantes en cada escena aunque por supuesto los más importantes serán los que tengan más tiempo en escena.
The direction and script is by Adam McKay, I have seen several of the films he has directed and written and from several of his projects I have two films that I liked the most, these are "Step Brothers" (2008) and "The Other Guys" (2010) and although I think he took much of the script made by Edgar Wright in "Ant-Man" (2015), I think he still did a good job; now with this movie it is very clear that the story as it was written is the important thing, I liked the tone of humor in all this extensive criticism of how information is used by both the media, the government, influencers, especially in its first hour and a half of duration which I think is the best because every scene since the discovery of the comet is all a sum of any situation that we consume on a daily basis, in moments it was to see a series of sketches about any topic, political, couple relationship, pop culture, feminism, masculinity, environmental care and maybe for some people it may be something difficult to assimilate and what surely the specialized critics did not like, but the majority of the general public did like this type of comedy, this type of story.
From the performance as a director, I think that the time he had _**McKay**_ in the show "Saturday Night Live" helped him to do his job for this film and for me this film is that, a very extensive humorous show, in some moments it was like watching an action-real version of "South Park" because the situations are like that and the way of directing the scenes gives much more strength to this opinion I have about this film, with this I am not saying that it is bad, not at all, I think there was no other way to make this whole project and that is why it has served for many people and for the actors who star in the film, as it has important moments in each scene although of course the most important will be the ones that have more time on stage.
Otra de las cosas en las cuales hace funcionar por completo está película, es la gran cantidad de buenos actores, en principal Leonardo Dicaprio y Jennifer Lawrence, ambos hacen un gran papel siendo parte de esta crítica humorística sobre temas sensibles para muchos y hasta para la imagen de ellos mismos, esto es una de las cosas que más me ha gustado del film, me pareció muy cómico ver a Dicaprio hacer el papel del Dr. Mendy el cual tiene un mensaje importante que dar al mundo, pero, en cambio, no se les presta atención a lo que tiene que decir y eso es por lo bien parecido que es, imagino que está es la forma de McKay de decirle al mismo Dicaprio que así lo ve él y el mundo cada vez que este famoso actor cada vez que habla sobre el cuidado del mundo; de la interpretación de Lawrence como Kate Dibiasky, creo que su personaje trata un tema delicado, ella hace de una mujer, inteligente, preparada que descubre el cometa, pero el poco o ningún reconocimiento que se le da por ser quien es y por su descubrimiento, la enoja mucho y por eso es muy apasionada en dar un mensaje sumamente importante y es por eso que es ridiculizada por toda la opinión pública y es la que debe enfrentar la parte mala de la fama. Ambos personajes, relevantes, bien actuados es lo que más me ha gustado y a pesar de que la historia del Dr. Mendy está mejor desarrollada, no hay duda de que sus historias son claro ejemplo de cómo la sociedad acepta o no una opinión de la misma cuestión, son ejemplos de cómo el manejo de una información puede crear héroes y villanos.
Another of the things in which makes this film work completely, is the great amount of good actors, in main Leonardo Dicaprio and Jennifer Lawrence, both do a great role being part of this humorous criticism about sensitive issues for many and even for the image of themselves, this is one of the things that I liked the most about the film, I found it very comical to see Dicaprio playing the role of Dr. Mendy which has an important message to give to the world, but, instead, they are not paid attention to what he has to say and that is because of how good looking he is, I imagine this is McKay's way of telling Dicaprio himself that this is how he and the world sees it every time this famous actor every time he talks about taking care of the world; of Lawrence's performance as Kate Dibiasky, I think her character deals with a delicate subject, she plays a woman, intelligent, prepared who discovers the comet, but the little or no recognition given to her for who she is and for her discovery, makes her very angry and that is why she is very passionate in giving an extremely important message and that is why she is ridiculed by all the public opinion and is the one who must face the bad part of fame. Both characters, relevant, well acted is what I liked the most and even though Dr. Mendy's story is better developed, there is no doubt that their stories are clear examples of how society accepts or does not accept an opinion of the same issue, they are examples of how the handling of information can create heroes and villains.
Entiendo porque hay críticos los cuales no les gustó el film, creo que le sobró como 20 minutos de más, hay situaciones de las cuales pudieron ser editadas o desarrolladas de otra forma, tal vez la sobre exposición del humor en esta crítica haya desgastado la interpretación de varios personajes y lo divertida que fue en más de una hora de películas, en la parte final creo que pierde impacto, la diversión, lo humorístico de la crítica se hace aburrida y es por eso que me fuera gustado que su duración no fuera tan extensa, eso es lo que menos me gustó de esta historia, pero tanto el primer cómo gran parte del segundo acto es lo mejor del film, ya que son muchos temas que consumimos a diario y sin importar que el tema sea apocalíptico o algo con menos gravedad, encontraremos este tipo de reacción en la comunidad y es por eso que este film es algo especial, está también puede ser la razón del porque prensa especializada en el cine no haya encontrado divertido este film, está historia que trata en realidad de cómo se maneja el mundo de la información, de cómo cada persona está más habituada a seguir la opinión de alguien bien parecido, que tenga más seguidores en una red social, que haya obtenido una especialidad en una universidad muy importante y seguramente otros factores más, esto es lo que más me ha gustado de toda esta historia, es un cruda, divertida crítica sobre esta sociedad que decide perderse en la vida de famosos, en seguir líderes que no están preparados para liderar, en el loop de vida que tenemos y es por eso que cuando debemos enfrentar el duro golpe de la realidad, solo nos quedará estar tranquilos esperando.
I understand why there are critics who did not like the film, I think it was about 20 minutes too much, there are situations which could have been edited or developed in another way, perhaps the over exposure of humor in this review has worn out the interpretation of several characters and how much fun it was in more than an hour of film, in the final part I think it loses impact, the fun, the humor of the review becomes boring and that is why I would have liked that its duration was not so long, that's what I liked the least of this story, but both the first and much of the second act is the best of the film, as there are many issues that we consume daily and regardless of whether the subject is apocalyptic or something less serious, we will find this kind of reaction in the community and that's why this film is something special, this may also be the reason why the specialized press in cinema has not found this film funny, this story is really about how the world of information is handled, how each person is more accustomed to follow the opinion of someone who looks good, who has more followers in a social network, who has obtained a specialty in a very important university and surely other factors, This is what I liked the most about this story, it is a crude, funny criticism about this society that decides to get lost in the life of celebrities, in following leaders who are not prepared to lead, in the life loop we have and that is why when we must face the hard blow of reality, we can only be quiet waiting.
