Producciones cinematográficas originales de servicios de streaming son las que menos expectativas crean en mí; lo único que espero de los muchos films estrenados en diferentes servicios que existen en la actualidad, es que me entretengan, que demuestren esfuerzo en hacer un trabajo decente en el desarrollo del film dependiendo el género al que pertenezca; posiblemente algo sencillo en realizar, pero no toda película que he visto cumplen con la función de entretenerme y es lamentable porque siempre he dicho que existe una buena idea, pero un mal desarrollo de esa idea y es eso lo que al final afecta a un film el cual su objetivo principal era el de entretener.
Original film productions from streaming services are the ones that create the least expectations in me; the only thing I expect from the many films released on different services that exist today, is that they entertain me, that they show effort in doing a decent job in the development of the film depending on the genre to which it belongs; possibly something simple to do, but not every film I have seen fulfills the function of entertaining me and it is unfortunate because I have always said that there is a good idea, but a bad development of that idea and that is what ultimately affects a film whose main objective was to entertain.
"Ghosted" es el nuevo film de Apple TV+, que se estrenó el pasado viernes; relata la historia de un encuentro entre dos personas que están padeciendo de soledad en sus vidas; una de esas personas es "Sadie", una mujer joven, atractiva, que piensa sobre que es lo mejor para su vida y al momento de querer alejarse de su trabajo se encuentra con "Cole", quien es un granjero, alguien atractivo y que hace poco terminó una relación amorosa; ellos comenzarán un breve romance que terminara de manera abrupta por la desaparición de Sadie quien no atiende, no contesta ninguno de los muchos mensajes que envía Cole y eso hasta que entre la preocupación y desesperación, él decida buscarla en cualquier lugar donde esté y al momento de creer encontrarla, descubrirá una verdad sobre ella, una que pondrá en peligro su vida, pero también lo obligará a ser parte de una misión para salvar al mundo.
"Ghosted" is the new Apple TV+ film, which premiered last Friday; it tells the story of an encounter between two people who are suffering from loneliness in their lives; one of those people is "Sadie", a young, attractive woman, who thinks about what is best for her life and when she wants to get away from her work, she meets "Cole", who is a farmer, someone attractive and who recently ended a love relationship; They will begin a brief romance that will end abruptly by the disappearance of Sadie who does not answer any of the many messages Cole sends and that until between concern and despair, he decides to look for her wherever she is and when he thinks he finds her, he will discover a truth about her, one that will endanger his life, but also force him to be part of a mission to save the world.
Posiblemente, esta era la película que menos quería ver en este mes o en este año, no soy fan del género del romance y ni mucho menos de las comedias románticas, pero en algunos casos no decido que ver así que termine viendo esta película que une (como ya dije) el romance, la comedia y acción y justamente eso, la acción, era lo que esperaba que me mantuviera entretenido en las casi dos horas de duración que tiene este film. La película es dirigida por Dexter Fletcher que en los últimos años ha estado muy ligado a biografías tanto en el cine como para la TV y que en esta oportunidad trata de desarrollar una historia en dónde lo más importante es la relación entre sus protagonistas con escenas donde la acción está muy ligada a la comedia y es por eso que al momento de comenzar la verdadera historia es donde el trabajo de Fletcher debe enfocarse a realizar las escenas llenas de acción; en mi opinión son regulares, nada original, aunque bien coordinadas, pero simples me hubiera gustado que fueran más físicas, pero era evidente la necesidad de hacerlas cómicas.
El guion fue escrito por un grupo de cuatro personas, ellos son: Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, Chris McKenna y Erik Sommers; personalmente no me gusta mucho ver tantas personas ser parte del desarrollo de un guion y puedo decir que este film es un gran ejemplo de eso; posiblemente el guion es lo peor del film; los diálogos son malos, la historia en sí es mala, el desarrollo de los personajes es inexistente y lo peor es que nada es divertido o cómico. Sé que en este tipo de films existe la necesidad de crear situaciones que funcionan de alguna manera para conectar a los personajes, pero este asunto de que un hombre se obsesione por una mujer que decida ir a buscarla a Europa es algo nada normal, no me pareció para nada cómico así a quien deba encontrar sea Ana de Armas o que yo tenga el aspecto de Chris Evans; personalmente que ese grado de locura solo debe ser visto en thrillers o películas de terror.
Possibly, this was the movie I least wanted to see this month or this year, I'm not a fan of the romance genre and much less of romantic comedies, but in some cases I do not decide what to see so I ended up watching this movie that unites (as I said) romance, comedy and action and just that, the action, was what I expected to keep me entertained in the almost two hours of duration that this film has. The film is directed by Dexter Fletcher who in recent years has been closely linked to biographies both in film and TV and this time he tries to develop a story where the most important thing is the relationship between its protagonists with scenes where the action is closely linked to the comedy and that is why when the real story begins is where the work of Fletcher should focus on making the scenes full of action; in my opinion they are regular, nothing original, although well coordinated, but simple I would have liked them to be more physical, but it was evident the need to make them funny.
The script was written by a group of four people, they are: Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers; personally I don't really like to see so many people being part of the development of a script and I can say that this film is a great example of that; possibly the script is the worst thing about the film; the dialogue is bad, the story itself is bad, the character development is non-existent and the worst thing is that nothing is funny or comical. I know that in this kind of films there is the need to create situations that work in some way to connect the characters, but this issue of a man obsessing over a woman who decides to go looking for her in Europe is not normal at all, I didn't find it funny at all even if the person he has to find is Ana de Armas or that I look like Chris Evans; personally that degree of madness should only be seen in thrillers or horror movies.
Personalmente, creo que tanto Chris como Ana tienen buena química, las muchas escenas que comparten se nota la comodidad entre ellos y resultó las escenas de acción en dónde Ana tiene más participación y lo hace muy bien, creo que el entrenamiento que ha recibido para films cómo "No Time to Die", "The Gray Man" y la que más espero de ver, "Ballerina", le ayudo a realizar buenas escenas de acción, su actitud y concentración la hace ver convincente y en mi opinión es lo mejor del film; por parte de Evans solo puedo decir que su actuación me recordó a films cómo "Not Another Teen Movie", "The Losers" y "Fantastic Four", películas en dónde su personaje deberia ser comico; lo que puedo decir que está bien que sus actuaciones después de interpretar a "Captain America", estén muy relacionadas con la comedia y que me ha gustado su trabajo en "Knives Out" y "The Gray Man", pero en esta película me parece regular, no me gustó el personaje.
Personally, I think that both Chris and Ana have good chemistry, the many scenes they share, you can see the comfort between them and it was the action scenes where Ana has more participation and she does it very well, I think the training she has received for films like "No Time to Die", "The Gray Man" and the one I'm looking forward to see, "Ballerina", helped her to perform good action scenes, her attitude and concentration makes her look convincing and in my opinion is the best of the film; As for Evans I can only say that his performance reminded me of films like "Not Another Teen Movie", "The Losers" and "Fantastic Four", films where his character should be comic; what I can say is that it is good that his performances after playing "Captain America", are very related to the comedy and I liked his work in "Knives Out" and "The Gray Man", but in this film I think he is average, I didn't like the character.
Definitivamente, Ghosted es el segundo film que menos me ha gustado ver en este año y eso que estaba avisado de lo que es está película por las críticas negativas que recibió, pero como siempre lo he dicho, es mejor verificar que tan ciertas son las opiniones de otras personas y así crear unas propias y es por eso que al terminar de ver esta película solo pensaba que las críticas que recibió ese film son ciertas y como siempre es lamentable que una idea tan poco original, no funcione en el objetivo de ser entretenida, me parece que se perdió el tiempo de copiar tanto una fórmula que al final se hizo algo muy simple. No perderé el tiempo diciendo lo que me hubiera gustado de ver, solo puedo decir que si esperaba que mínimo tuviera mejor desarrollo los personajes, usar una mejor manera para demostrar el uso del "ghosting", por lo menos hacerla mejor, en lo cómico y no crear a un personaje que en mi opinión es un acosador, alguien obsesivo; posiblemente exagero, pero como dije anteriormente, el guion debe ser uno de los peores de lo que va de año, un desastre y por eso mi recomendación es que vean otras películas, series, cualquier otra producción en vez de ver este film.
Definitely, Ghosted is the second film that I liked the least to see this year and I was warned of what this film is because of the negative reviews it received, but as I have always said, it is better to verify how true other people's opinions are, it is better to verify how true are the opinions of other people and thus create your own and that's why when I finished watching this movie I only thought that the reviews that this film received are true and as always it is unfortunate that such an unoriginal idea does not work in order to be entertaining, it seems to me that time was wasted copying a formula so much that in the end it became something very simple. I will not waste time saying what I would have liked to see, I can only say that if I expected that at least had better character development, use a better way to demonstrate the use of "ghosting", at least make it better, in the comic and not create a character that in my opinion is a stalker, someone obsessive; possibly exaggerating, but as I said above, the script must be one of the worst so far this year, a disaster and therefore my recommendation is to see other movies, series, any other production instead of watching this film.
