Every story has an origin and this time we will see one that is full of anger, violence and terror... "JU-ON: Origins".
At the end of the 90's until 2005, the horror movies were invaded by the excellent Japanese productions, films like Ring (1998) and its sequels gave reason for the world to see Japan as a place where it could get new horror stories, next to that film there was another one that took a lot of importance and that was Ju-On: The Grudge; the first time I was able to see these stories was by seeing the Hollywood versions such as The Ring (2002), from that moment on I looked for different productions and I was able to find Ju-On: The Grudge 2, what I saw of this story made me lose sleep for two days in a row, but I still wanted to see more, but in the end I only found disappointment because of the exhaustion of making so many films in a row, very similar to each other losing the originality that had made them famous.

Toda historia tiene un origen y en esta oportunidad veremos una que esta llena de ira, violencia y terror... "JU-ON: Origins".
A finales de los años 90' hasta el 2005, el cine de terror se vio invadido por las excelentes producciones japonesas, películas como Ring (1998) y su secuelas dieron pie a que el mundo viera a Japón como un lugar donde pudiera obtener nuevas historias de terror, junto a ese film hubo otro que tomó mucha importancia y ese fue el de Ju-On: The Grudge; la primera vez que pude ver estas historias fue por ver las versiones hollywoodenses tal como The Ring (2002), desde ese momento busque el ver diferentes producciones y pude encontrar a Ju-On: The Grudge 2, lo que vi de esta historia me hizo perder el sueño por dos días seguidos, pero igual quería ver más, pero al final solo encontré decepción por el desgaste de realizar tantos films seguidos, muy parecidos unos a otros perdiendo la originalidad que les había dado fama.
JU-ON: Origins" is what this franchise needed, to return to its roots and try to tell a story where we can reach what we know from the films; this Japanese series was released in July of this year on Netflix and is consists of six episodes with a duration between 26 to 29 minutes, this is excellent and works a lot because of the way in which in the 13 films that exist of this franchise each character and their relationship with the house where the curse occurs is explained. This story of origins is a little far from what is known in the films, we see how the lives of various characters are related in different years only for having set foot in the house where there have always been violent deaths of people who once inhabited it.
"JU-ON: Origins" es lo que necesitaba esta franquicia, volver a sus raíces y tratar de contar una historia en donde podamos llegar a lo que conocemos por parte de los films; esta serie japonesa fue estrenada en julio de este año en Netflix y está compuesta por seis episodios con una duración entre 26 a 29 minutos, esto es excelente y sirve mucho por la forma de que en las 13 películas que existen de esta franquicia se desarrolla a cada personaje y su relación con la casa donde ocurre la maldición. Esta historia de orígenes estamos algo alejados de lo que se conoce en los films, vemos como la vida de varios personajes ser relacionan en diferentes años solamente por haber puesto un pie en la casa donde siempre han ocurrido muertes violentas de las personas que alguna vez la habitaron.
The director Sho Miyake together with the screenwriters Hiroshi Takahashi and Takashige Ichise, took everything previously done in this series of films and managed to create a new story where the evil power of this house is explored and leaving in the future what we will see regarding the great manifestation of terror that comes from that place, they show great respect for what has been done and give clues of what will possibly be the path to travel in future seasons. The rhythm of these six episodes is very good, this first season can be seen as a long film where the first 3 episodes serve to introduce the characters and the last three are where there is a greater evolution in the supernatural of this story, it can be considered slow at first, but as I said before this series in its first season wants to demonstrate the power that the house has to influence and awaken the evil of those who visit it.
El director Sho Miyake junto a los guionistas Hiroshi Takahashi y Takashige Ichise, tomaron todo lo antes hecho en esta serie de películas y lograron crear una nueva historia en donde se explora el poder maligno de esta casa y dejando en un futuro lo que veremos con respecto a la gran manifestación de terror que proviene de ese lugar, muestran un gran respeto por lo que se ha hecho y dan pistas de lo que posiblemente será el camino a transitar en próximas temporadas. El ritmo de estos seis episodios es muy bueno, esta primera temporada se puede ver como un largo film en donde los 3 primeros episodios sirven para hacer presentación de los personajes y los últimos tres son en donde existe un mayor desarrollo en lo sobrenatural de esta historia, se puede considerar lenta al principio, pero como dije anteriormente esta serie en su primera temporada quiere demostrar el poder que tiene la casa para influenciar y despertar la maldad de los que la visitan.
Its many protagonists influence each of its episodes showing different social and cultural levels, all marked by being in direct contact or not with this house, it impacts that somehow most of these characters were involved in a loss of a family member or couple in a violent way, always influenced by a curse; Of these characters I like the interpretation made by Yoshiyoshi Arakawa as "Yasuo Odajima", a researcher of the paranormal who is always in search of something more, obsessed could better define this character and who always uses the answer of "It's for a book I'm making" when he asks why he does this, but in his past he will be able to find a truth, the other character I have liked is "Kiyomi Kawai" played by the model and actress Ririka, a girl who only wants to have a normal life, but destiny will make her have a tumultuous and violent life where she will always look for a way to survive; In these two characters we can divide a big part of this season and maybe in the next ones we will see the development of the other characters and have a leading role as the two before mentioned.
Sus muchos protagonistas influyen en cada uno de sus episodios mostrando diferentes niveles sociales y culturales, todos marcados por estar en contacto directo o no con esta casa, impacta que de alguna forma la mayoría de estos personajes estuvieron de alguna forma involucrados en un perdida de algún familiar o pareja de forma violenta, siempre influenciado por una maldición; de estos personajes me gusta la interpretación hecha por Yoshiyoshi Arakawa como "Yasuo Odajima", un investigador de lo paranormal que siempre está en búsqueda de algo más, obsesionado pudiera definir mejor a este personaje y que siempre usa la respuesta de "Es para un libro que estoy haciendo" cuando le pregunta del por qué hace esto, pero en su pasado él podrá encontrar una verdad, el otro personaje que me ha gustado es "Kiyomi Kawai" interpretado por la modelo y actriz Ririka, una chica que solo quiere tener una vida normal, pero el destino hará que tenga una vida tumultuosa y violenta en donde siempre buscara una forma de sobrevivir; en estos dos pesonajes se puede dividir gran parte de esta temporada y tal vez en las próximas veamos el desarrollo de los demás personajes y tener un protagonismo como de los dos antes nombrados.
This new stage in the extensive franchise of JU-ON has pleased me, I have always believed that the Japanese have a twisted mind to tell horror stories and although this series fails in the use of CGI in some horror scenes where a good makeup or better use of this tool could have made more shocking scenes and hopefully return to that origin in making better horror scenes; I liked that it focuses on the power that the house has to influence the acts of the different characters and that not all are pursued by the ghost of "Kayako", I always thought that this story is made as a complaint against domestic violence, men and women assaulting each other in a violent way as much anger where the only answer for the horrible of their acts is that they were possessed by a demon, Despite receiving negative criticism for not showing what they are used to see, I think this is what makes it better, I can say that it is more terrifying to see a person end a life without any remorse, but this does not mean that this series does not show the supernatural because as I said in this post, this curse has the power to affect anyone over time, influenced many people to do the violent will of that house. I recommend this quick series, with a very good story and if you have not seen any of the movies I can say that you will still enjoy it and if you are already familiar with this story I will tell you that you will enjoy it much more with the many references it has.
Esta nueva etapa en la extensa franquicia de JU-ON me ha gustado, siempre he creído que los japoneses tienen una mente retorcida para contar historias de terror y aunque esta serie falla en el uso del CGI en algunas escenas terrorificas en donde un bue maquillaje o mejor uso de esta herramienta pudiera haber hecho escenas más impactantes y ojala que se vuelva a esa origen en hacer mejores escenas de horror; me ha gustado que se enfoque en el poder que tiene la casa para influir en los actos de los diferentes personajes y que no todos sean perseguidos por el fantasma de "Kayako", siempre he pensado de que esta historia es hecha como una denuncia en contra de la violencia doméstica, hombres y mujeres agrediéndose de forma violenta como mucha ira en donde la única respuesta por lo horrible de sus actos es que estuvieran poseídos por un demonio, a pesar de recibir criticas negativas por no mostrar a lo que están acostumbrados de ver, creo que esto es lo que la hace mejor, puedo decir que es más terrorífico el ver a una persona acabar con una vida sin ningún remordimiento, pero esto no quiere decir que esta serie no muestre lo sobrenatural porque como ya he dicho en este post, esta maldición tiene el poder de afectar a quien sea a través del tiempo, influenciado a muchas personas a que hagan la voluntad violenta de esa casa. Recomiendo a esta rápida serie, con muy buena historia y si no ha visto alguna de las películas puedo decir que igual podrá disfrutarla y si ya está familiarizado con esta historia le diré que la disfrutara mucho más con la gran cantidad de refrencias que tiene.
