Aprovechando la visita de mis sobrinos, me convencieron de ver el nuevo film de Disney que está basado en una de las atracciones del parque de Walt Disney; en lo personal no era la película que quería ver, pero quise darle la oportunidad para pasar un grato tiempo con mis sobrinos que como yo les gusta ver películas, lo otro es que me hizo recordar las muchas películas producidas por Disney que pude ver de niño, historias divertidas, musicales (que no me gustan mucho), con mucha comedia, películas con interpretaciones caricaturescas muy enfocada al público infantil, pero más que nada con un excelente tono familiar, es por eso que si había algo que ver con mis pequeños sobrinos era una historia llena de aventuras y esperando que fuera divertida para pasar un buen rato en familia.

Taking advantage of the visit of my nephews, they convinced me to see the new Disney film that is based on one of the attractions of the Walt Disney Park; Personally it was not the movie I wanted to see, but I wanted to give it a chance to spend a nice time with my nephews who like me like to watch movies, the other thing is that it made me remember the many movies produced by Disney that I could see as a child, funny stories, musicals (which I do not like much), with lots of comedy, movies with cartoonish interpretations very focused on children, but mostly with an excellent family tone, that's why if there was something to see with my little nephews was a story full of adventure and hoping it was fun to have a good time as a family.
En ”Jungle Cruise” veremos la historia de dos hermanos, la decidida “Dra. Lily Houghton”, especialista en botánica y su hermano el fiel “MacGregor Houghton”, la Dra. Lily cree en el mito de la existencia de una hoja del árbol “Las Lágrimas de la Luna” podrá cambiar la medicina por siempre y está dispuesta a llegar al lugar más peligroso del mundo para completar su misión, su hermano que no puede refutar nada de lo que haga o diga su hermana, la acompañara en tan peligrosa aventura, pero este viaje por la selva y rio amazónico no podrán hacerla sin la ayuda del experimentado Capitán “Frank Wolff”, ellos tres harán un viaje descubriendo los muchos peligros y secretos que encierra la jungla, peligros que despertaran a enemigos sobrenaturales y los de este mundo y eso hará que haya una carrera para ver quien obtiene el gran premio de hacerse con la especial hoja, deberán nuestros héroes hacer lo posible para salvarse primero ellos antes de salvar al mundo.

Primeramente, yo no sé mucho sobre la atracción de la cual está basada este film, se Disney quiere repetir la fórmula de lo que se hizo con “Pirates of the Caribbean” y como el próximo proyecto de esta franquicia todavía está en preproducción, que más que explotar otra idea usando a actores famosos que atraigan a mucho público; para este film se contó con el director Jaume Collet-Serra del cual solo he visto en “The Shallows” (2016) la cual me gustó mucho y que en el año próximo estrenara el film basado en un personaje de DC Comics, “Black Adam”; en este film de Disney diseñas muy buenas escenas de acción, preferiblemente en la primera parte del film, tiene ese toque de comedia, muy bien coreografiado y muy cuidadoso de los detalles para que no se pierda ningún movimiento de los actores, muchas escenas me hicieron recordar a películas de Indiana Jones y otras producciones realizada hace tiempo por Disney, creo que este director tomo mucha influencia de estas historias y quiso plasmarla en su película.
La historia es simple, una mujer en una época en donde su opinión o lo que ella representa es minimizada por la opinión de muchos hombres decide hacer algo para poder mejorar al mundo sin recibir nada a cambio, pero en realidad la historia es una mujer que quiere hacer lo que muchos hombres no quieren hacer para poder dejarlos en evidencia, esa por los momentos es la verdadera motivación de este personaje para aventarse en la selva, de ahí tendrá a dos acompañantes de los cuales uno deberá ganarse la confianza confiando en sus dos nuevos tripulantes, como ven esta historia se basa en sí de como poder confiar en otros cuando quieres algo y no puedes obtenerlo, se plantea las preguntas ¿Qué harías tu si tienes el conocimiento un gran poder? ¿Lo Compartirías o no? También habla sobre el daño que crea la obsesión por obtener algo y de cómo puede nublar la mente hasta hacer cometer cosas que serán muy difícil de revertir; todo esto que he dicho se entiende, pero creo que pudo ser mejor desarrollado por Glenn Ficarra, John Requa y Michael Green quienes escribieron el guion.

The story is simple, a woman in a time where her opinion or what she represents is minimized by the opinion of many men decides to do something to improve the world without receiving anything in return, but in reality the story is a woman who wants to do what many men do not want to do to leave them in evidence, that for the moment is the real motivation of this character to venture into the jungle, from there she will have two companions of which one must earn the trust by trusting her two new crew members, as you can see this story is based on how to trust others when you want something and you can not get it, it raises the questions: What would you do if you have the knowledge a great power? Would you share it or not? It also talks about the damage that creates the obsession to get something and how it can cloud the mind to do things that will be very difficult to reverse; all this I have said is understood, but I think it could have been better developed by Glenn Ficarra, John Requa and Michael Green who wrote the script.
En muchas otras reseñas hablan sobre la química entre Dwayne Johnson y Emily Blunt quienes protagonizan este film, eso es cierto, ambos hacen un buen desempeño en esta historia, aunque ”The Rock” Johnson no es uno de mis actores favoritos porque para mí siempre trabaja igual en todas sus películas y esta no es la excepción, pero lo que si debo decir que en los muchos chistes que hace su personaje, me pude reír en algunos: Blunt creo que se le da bien, ya interpreto a una muy importante personaje en el mundo de Disney como es Mary Poppins, pero esta actriz ya tiene un recorrido en varios films de comedia así que su actuación fue natural y justamente por eso la considero lo mejor del film; el personaje de MacGregor interpretado por Jack Whitehall fue una sorpresa, el clásico personaje que le puede suceder todo y a la vez volverlo cómico, es un gran trabajo tanto escrito como actuado y para terminar debo decir algo de Jesse Plemons quien interpreto al “Prince Joachim”, lamento que no tenga muchas más escenas en esta película, creo que debió haber más de este personaje porque estoy seguro que fuera sido muy cómico, lo poco que hay es otro punto positivo de esta película.
In many other reviews they talk about the chemistry between Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt who star in this film, that's true, both make a good performance in this story, although "The Rock" Johnson is not one of my favorite actors because for me he always works the same in all his movies and this is no exception, but what I must say that in the many jokes that his character makes, I could laugh in some of them: Blunt I think she is good at it, she already played a very important character in the Disney world as Mary Poppins, but this actress already has a background in several comedy films so her performance was natural and that's exactly why I consider her the best of the film; MacGregor's character played by Jack Whitehall was a surprise, the classic character that everything can happen to him and at the same time make him funny, it is a great job both written and acted and to finish I must say something about Jesse Plemons who played "Prince Joachim", I regret that he does not have many more scenes in this movie, I think there should have been more of this character because I am sure he would have been very funny, the little that there is is another positive point of this movie.
Me gustaría decir que Jungle Cruise es un excelente film, pero en realidad es regular, tiene una gran primera hora en donde pude recordar a muchas películas que vi de niño y hasta algunas mucho después, pero justamente cuando se pasa de la mitad de la historia decae mucho y se vuelve algo aburrida, no sé si es el exceso de CGI o creo que no se le dio una mejor importancia a los villanos haciéndolos más peligrosos de lo que deberían ser, puede ser que le vi similitud a historias como la de los Piratas del Caribe y creo que esperaba una mejor aventura como se vio en La Momia por decir un ejemplo, ojala fueran seguido en esa ruta que parecía firme en peligro, aventura y comedia, en vez de hacer todo como chiste quitando peligro a lo que debieron enfrentar, hubo cosas que me hicieron pensar que seguramente fuera funcionado en un film animado, tal vez esa es mi principal crítica, hay cosas que deberían dejar atrás en el momento de estar en la jungla, situaciones peligrosas, más acción, eso fuera sido perfecto; ahora con respecto a la opinión de mis sobrinos, les diré que la pasaron muy bien se divirtieron y creo que en eso el objetivo de Disney fe cumplido ya que nos entretuvieron por buen tiempo.
I would like to say that Jungle Cruise is an excellent film, but in reality it is regular, it has a great first hour where I could remember many movies I saw as a child and even some much later, but just when it passes the middle of the story it declines a lot and becomes somewhat boring, I do not know if it is the excess of CGI or I think it was not given a better importance to the villains making them more dangerous than they should be, it could be that I saw similarities to stories like Pirates of the Caribbean and I think I expected a better adventure as seen in The Mummy for example, I wish they followed that route that seemed to be firm in danger, adventure and comedy, instead of doing everything as a joke removing danger to what they had to face, there were things that made me think that surely it would have worked in an animated film, maybe that's my main criticism, there are things that should be left behind at the time of being in the jungle, dangerous situations, more action, that would have been perfect; Now with respect to the opinion of my nephews, I will tell them that they had a great time, they had fun and I think that Disney's objective was fulfilled since they entertained us for a long time.
