Un mundo post apocalíptico no será impedimento para buscar el amor... "Love and Monsters"
Siempre he dicho que nunca es tarde para ver una película, está frase puede ayudar o no porque siempre termino acumulando películas que quería ver y hasta se me termina olvidando, pero la noche anterior buscando que ver decidí por un film que a pesar de ser estrenado el año pasado fue este año que se pudo distribuir internacionalmente Netflix y su estreno se llevó acabo hace más de u mes, pero como dije al comienzo de este párrafo, nunca es tarde para ver una película.

A post-apocalyptic world will not be an impediment to finding love.... "Love and Monsters"
I have always said that it is never too late to see a movie, this phrase may or may not help because I always end up accumulating movies I wanted to see and even end up forgetting, but last night looking for what to see I decided for a film that despite being released last year was this year that could be distributed internationally Netflix and its premiere took place more than a month ago, but as I said at the beginning of this paragraph, it is never too late to see a movie.
"Love and Monsters" es un film de monstruos, ciencia ficción, comedia romántica, familiar y aventura; una historia que nos relata la vida de "Joel Dawson" un sobreviviente del apocalipsis en dónde insectos y demás criaturas han mutado y ahora son los que dominan al mundo ya que la población humana a descendido en un gran número, eso hace que Joel se sienta solitario, perdiendo a casi todos sus seres queridos, solo queda "Aimee" quien es su grande amor y tal vez sea ella quien le pueda dar fuerza no solo para enfrentar tanto a monstruos como los miedos internos.
"Love and Monsters" is a film of monsters, science fiction, romantic comedy, family and adventure; a story that tells the life of "Joel Dawson" a survivor of the apocalypse where insects and other creatures have mutated and are now dominating the world as the human population has declined in large numbers, that makes Joel feel lonely, losing almost all his loved ones, only remains "Aimee" who is his great love and maybe she is the one who can give him strength not only to face both monsters and inner fears.
Este film fue dirigido por Michael Matthews, director sudafricano que es su segunda vez como director, su trabajo es bueno, realiza buenas escenas de acción con buen toque de comedia y suspenso, creo que se adaptó muy bien en el pequeño presupuesto del film y filmó escenas de buena forma realizando un aceptable trabajo, en realidad es muy simple con muchas tomas predecibles sin mostrar nada nuevo, pero creo que para este tipo de film fue perfecto.
El guion vino por parte del mismo Matthews y de Matthew Robinson, ambos crearon una divertida historia de un joven que debe enfrentar a Monstruos y traumas, pero que tiene al amor como motivo principal par a superar todo, me gustó mucho el enfoque de la historia desde el punto de vista de este personaje que quiere ser y hacer algo más, que busca la excusa de no estar solo para querer lograr cosas que muchos no pensaban; este film a pesar de mostrar a insectos monstruosos, también nos muestra los miedos que podemos tener por vivir eventos traumáticos, miedos normales al rechazo, inseguridades, pero también es una historia de mensaje familiar, de amistad, en si es un film muy positivo.
This film was directed by Michael Matthews, South African director who is his second time as a director, his work is good, he makes good action scenes with good touch of comedy and suspense, I think he adapted very well in the small budget of the film and filmed scenes in a good way doing an acceptable job, actually it is very simple with many predictable shots without showing anything new, but I think for this kind of film it was perfect.
The script came from Matthews himself and Matthew Robinson, both created a funny story of a young man who must face Monsters and traumas, but who has love as the main reason to overcome everything, I really liked the approach of the story from the point of view of this character who wants to be and do something else, who looks for the excuse of not being alone to want to achieve things that many did not think; this film despite showing monstrous insects, also shows us the fears that we can have to live traumatic events, normal fears of rejection, insecurities, but it is also a story of family message, friendship, if it is a very positive film.
Las actuaciones son buenas para el tipo de película que es, Dylan O'Brien hace una excelente interpretación de un joven que sabe que puede lograr más cosas de la que ya hace y por eso decide aventurarse en un muy peligroso nuevo mundo para encontrar a la persona que más ama, interpreta a alguien muy ingenuo, pero a la vez realista de todo lo que al comienzo de la historia representa su personaje, sus miedos, preocupaciones, su necesidad, todo eso está muy bien hecho igual que su evolución hasta el momento final de esta historia; los demás personajes que van apareciendo cumplen en su cometido y los actores quien los interpretan hacen un buen trabajo, Michael Rooker quien puede hacer quien sea, villano o aliado, en esta película su personaje me recordó a "Yondu" específicamente en "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2", él junto a Ariana Greenblatt como "Minnow" hacen una gran pareja de sobrevivientes, mención especial en la actuación a Hero y Dodge quienes interpretaron al valiente y fiel "Boy".
The performances are good for the kind of movie it is, Dylan O'Brien makes an excellent interpretation of a young man who knows he can achieve more things than he already does and therefore decides to venture into a very dangerous new world to find the person he loves the most, he plays someone very naive, but at the same time realistic of everything that at the beginning of the story represents his character, his fears, concerns, his need, all that is very well done as well as his evolution until the final moment of this story; The other characters that appear in the film fulfill their role and the actors who play them do a good job, Michael Rooker who can play anyone, villain or ally, in this movie his character reminded me of "Yondu" specifically in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2", he along with Ariana Greenblatt as "Minnow" make a great pair of survivors, special mention in acting to Hero and Dodge who played the brave and faithful "Boy".
Love and Monsters es un divertido film, muy divertido, antes pesaba que sería una versión muy suave de "Zombieland" y una cómica de "A Quiet Place", creo que tiene de ambas, pero también sabe contar su propia historia, me gustó mucho como alguien tiene la fortaleza y la decisión de no terminar sus últimos días solo y más sabiendo que la mujer que ama está a algunos días de viaje y que si quiere crecer y demostrar su valía en un mundo peligroso deberá enfrentar los miedos que ahora existen en monstruos y también los miedos creados por situaciones vividas; por un momento mientras veía este film pensaba que si le quitamos los monstruos, lo apocalíptico, tranquilamente tendríamos un film de un chico viajando, teniendo situaciones peligrosas, pero muy cómicas hasta llegar a dónde está al amor de su vida, es por eso que guionistas y su director mostraron una forma de crear una historia repetida a una divertida, con mucha aventura y comedia, si por casualidad no la han visto, la recomiendo en un 100%.
Love and Monsters is a funny film, very funny, before I thought it would be a very soft version of "Zombieland" and a comic version of "A Quiet Place", I think it has both, but it also knows how to tell its own story, I really liked how someone has the strength and the decision to not end his last days alone and more knowing that the woman he loves is a few days away and that if he wants to grow and prove his worth in a dangerous world he must face the fears that now exist in monsters and also the fears created by situations he has lived; for a moment while watching this film I thought that if we take away the monsters, the apocalyptic, we would have a film of a boy traveling, having dangerous situations, but very funny until he gets to the love of his life, that is why screenwriters and director showed a way to create a repeated story to a funny one, with lots of adventure and comedy, if by chance you have not seen it, I recommend it 100%.
