Netflix estrenó el film que cuenta la historia de un grupo de hombres Iraníes en su lucha por liberar su cuidad... "Mosul".
He visto una gran cantidad de películas en dónde la lucha del medio oriente sea la base para desarrollar sus historias y en donde siempre esté involucrado personajes basados en solados americanos luchando una guerra que tal vez no le corresponde, films basadas en historias reales, otros dónde hace elevar el patriotismo americano resaltando al héroe invencible, pero siempre existirá una forma diferente de contar una historia y en este film de Netflix lo demuestra.

Netflix released the film that tells the story of a group of Iranian men in their battle to free their city... "Mosul".
I have seen a lot of films where the struggle of the Middle East is the basis for developing their stories and where it always involves characters based on American soldiers fighting a war that may not be theirs, films based on real stories, others where it raises American patriotism by highlighting the invincible hero, but there will always be a different way of telling a story and this film by Netflix shows it.
"Mosul" es un film bélico lleno de drama y acción, es basada en un artículo realizado por Luke Mogelson para la revista "The New Yorker"; en este film veremos la historia de los días finales de "La Batalla por Mosul" y la misión del grupo de SWAT de Nínive el cual estaba formado por un grupo pequeño de hombres Iraníes que tenían en común de perder a familiares a manos de "Daesh", este grupo de hombres tiene una misión final la cual buscara llevarla acabo sin importar las consecuencias que tengan, todo sea para liberar su ciudad de origen que estuvo por mucho tiempo en manos de terroristas.
"Mosul" is a war film full of drama and action, it is based on an article made by Luke Mogelson for "The New Yorker " magazine; In this film we will see the story of the final days of "The Battle for Mosul" and the mission of the Nineveh SWAT group which was formed by a small group of Iranian men who had in common the loss of family members at the hands of "Daesh", this group of men has a final mission which they will seek to carry out no matter what the consequences are, all to free their hometown which was for a long time in the hands of terrorists
Este film fue dirigido y escrito por Matthew Michael Carnahan, este es su primera vez como director ya que solo se le había conocido como escribir guiones de films como World War Z, 21 Bridges y Dark Waters y en este película como director no busca inventar nada nuevo, se enfoca en los personajes, en sus gestos, expresiones y forma de socializar entre ellos, las escenas de acción son muy frontales y realistas, nada de grandes peleas con coreografías como se han visto en otros films, pero si mantiene la tensión en como usa la ciudad para mostrar el peligro de vivir en guerra.
El guión es excelente, me gustó mucho que no copiara tal cual está escrito en el artículo el cual está historia está basada, me gusta que se le anexe un dramatismo que de seguro si existe en la historia real, pero que en esta historia le dé un toque humano a una guerra sin cuartel en dónde es muy difícil considerar quien es aliado y quién no. Me gusta que en el grupo de SWAT existe el cliché de encontrar personajes conocidos como el líder, el cómico, el amigo, el desconfiado y el nuevo, es inevitable de que eso no ocurra en esta historia y no creo que sea algo que afecte esta buena película.
This film was directed and written by Matthew Michael Carnahan, this is his first time as a director since he had only been known to write scripts for films such as World War Z, 21 Bridges and Dark Waters and in this film as a director he does not seek to invent anything new, he focuses on the characters, In their gestures, expressions and way of socializing with each other, the action scenes are very frontal and realistic, no big fights with choreography as seen in other films, but it does keep the tension in how he uses the city to show the danger of living in war.
The script is excellent, I liked very much that it did not copy as it is written in the article which this story is based on, I like that a dramatism is attached to it that surely exists in the real history, but in this story it gives a human touch to a war without quarter where it is very difficult to consider who is an ally and who is not. I like that in the SWAT group there is the cliché of finding well-known characters such as the leader, the comedian, the friend, the distrustful and the newcomer, it is inevitable that this does not happen in this story and I do not think it is something that affects this good film.
Las actuaciones son buenas, en especial la de Suhail Dabbach, que interpreta a "Mayor Jasem" y Bilal Adam Besa como "Kawa"; ambos personajes son los protagonistas de este film y ambos actores hacen muy buen trabajo al contar la historia de un hombre transformado por la guerra y que solo tiene recuerdos lejanos de lo que era y tenemos la otra cara en donde hay un joven hombre que todavía no entiende si está bien hacer las cosas que hace y si eso puede ser llamado justicia, ambos representa un lado del drama de las personas que deben lidiar con la guerra y contra prejuicios por el hecho de nacer en ese país y que de alguna forma deben convertirse en lo que aborrecen y enfrentar a los que crean el terror.
The performances are good, especially that of Suhail Dabbach, who plays "Mayor Jasem" and Bilal Adam Besa as "Kawa"; both characters are the protagonists of this film and both actors do a very good job in telling the story of a man transformed by war and who only has distant memories of what he was and we have the other side where there is a young man who still does not understand if it is right to do the things he does and if that can be called justice, both represent a side of the drama of the people who must deal with war and against prejudices because of the fact of being born in that country and that somehow they must become what they hate and face those who create terror.
Esta es una excelente película, tiene momentos de ser un western moderno lleno de drama y tristeza, una historia en dónde personas pierden la humanidad y deben transformarse en lo que odian para poder sobrevivir sin importar el bando al que pertenezcan, es triste muchas cosas y más porque sabes que todavía faltará tiempo para que puedan recuperarse y ser lo que alguna vez fueron; me gustó mucho el enfoque que se da a la pregunta de ¿Cómo confías en alguien cuando se vive en una guerra? Eso es algo muy importante en esta historia, quien es aliado y quién no, pero lo mejor es que nos muestra esos héroes locales que sacrificaron todo para que nuevas generaciones puedan sobrevivir y no pertenecer al terror. Recomiendo este film y espero que lo vean.
This is an excellent film, it has moments of being a modern western full of drama and sadness, a story where people lose their humanity and must transform themselves into what they hate in order to survive no matter which side they belong to, it is sad about many things and more because you know that it will still take time for them to recover and be what they once were; I liked very much the focus on the question of How do you trust someone when you live in a war? That is something very important in this story, who is an ally and who is not, but the best thing is that it shows us those local heroes who sacrificed everything so that new generations can survive and not belong to terror. I recommend this film and I hope you watch it.
