"The place where heroes go..."
The big sporting events are very important to me, whether it's Olympic Games or any football tournament, it's something that makes me happy and that I always have marked on my calendar and even if work or other responsibility deprives me of seeing some competition, that doesn't stop me from always looking for information on what's going on, there's always a lot of coverage on statistics,results and even the perfect image that serves as a promotion because no matter how simple or less eye-catching one of the sports may be, there will always be sponsors that will make it have an impact on the spectators, but this is only one part of the competition that we are taught to watch, leaving aside another important event where people compete not only against opponents but also have to compete against the prejudice that tries to minimize their moment of getting a well-deserved recognition for being the best.

"El lugar donde van los héroes..."
Los grandes eventos deportivos son muy importantes para mí, sean Juegos Olímpicos o cualquier evento futbolístico, es algo que me hace feliz y que siempre tengo marcado en mi calendario y aunque el trabajo u otra responsabilidad me prive de ver alguna competencia, eso no evita de que siempre busque información de lo que esté sucediendo, siempre existe una gran cobertura sobre estadísticas, resultados y hasta la imagen perfecta que sirve de promoción porque por más simple o menos llamativa que pueda ser una de las disciplinas deportivas, siempre existirá patrocinantes que harán que tenga un impacto en los espectadores, pero esto es solo una parte de la competencia que nos enseñan a ver, dejando a un lado a otro importante evento en donde personas compiten no solo contra contrincantes de turno sino contra el prejuicio que trata de minimizar su momento de conseguir un merecido reconocimiento por ser los mejores.
"Rising Phoenix" is an excellent documentary by Netflix released on August 26th of this year, directed by Ian Bonhôte and Peter Ettedgui. It takes the stories of athletes from different countries and their participation or dream of participating in the Paralympic Games, Each one of the stories of these people tells us their origins and how they have to deal with their condition and how they have overcome every obstacle until they get recognition in sports and even serve as an inspiration to many other people who may or may not have a disability, but this documentary is not only for this, we can also see the origin of these games and how they have also fought just as their participants do and that despite having more and more followers, there will always be that group of people who will take away the importance of this competition.
"Rising Phoenix" es un excelente documental de Netflix estrenado el 26 de agosto de este año, dirigido por Ian Bonhôte y Peter Ettedgui, en ella se toma relatos de atletas de diferentes países y su participación o sueño de participar en los Juegos Paralímpicos, cada una de las historias de estas personas nos relata sus orígenes y de cómo deben lidiar con su condición y de cómo han superado cada obstáculo hasta conseguir en el deporte un reconocimiento y hasta servir de inspiración a muchas otras personas que pueden tener una discapacidad o no, pero no solo para esto esta este documental, también podemos ver el origen de estos juegos y de como también han luchado tal cual lo hacen sus participantes y que a pesar de cada vez tener más seguidores, siempre estará ese lado que le restara importancia.
The production and election of each person, whether they are athletes or members of the organizing committee of the games, is something that gives veracity and I was very excited to see each of their stories, they are people committed to these games and I think they never stop working to make these games more important than they deserve. This documentary shows the struggle that these people have when each of these games begins and ends, is something that should be both frustrating and motivating because everyone involved knows that if they want games in the next four years, they shouldn't sit around waiting, their job is to serve as promoters by being active and aware of any movement to create the best games ever made so that they always have something to compare it with so that the next games will be better.
La producción y elección de cada persona sea atleta o perteneciente del comité organizador de los juegos, es algo que le da veracidad y me emocionó mucho viendo cada una de sus historias, son personas comprometidas con estos juegos y creo que nunca dejan de trabajar buscando que estos juegos tengan cada vez más la importancia que merecen, en este documental se demuestra la lucha que estas personas tienen cuando comienza y termina cada uno de estos juegos, es algo que debe ser tanto frustrante como motivador porque cada uno de los involucrados sabe que si quieren que haya juegos en los próximos cuatro años, no deberán quedarse sentados esperando, su trabajo es servir de promotor estando activos y pendientes de cualquier movimiento para crear los mejores juegos que se hayan hecho y así tener siempre algo con que comparar para que en los próximos juegos sean mejor.
All the athletes have excellent and motivating stories where some of their origins are terrifying that made them know the struggle to live at a very young age, they had the possibility to surround themselves with people that would never leave them alone and that in one way or another will be with them in each of their victories, Not only in sport but in life itself, I am completely sure that each one of their stories makes this documentary very motivating and moving. I liked the fact that it shows the long road that has been taken from before the first official games in Holland in the 60's until the last one of the games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is the perfect way to show the general public how strong and determined are all those involved, shows a constant struggle to make each game, that each athlete is comfortable, but the most important thing is the fight against people who want to disappear these games, this is one of the things that make this documentary better, because they denounce the abuses towards the organizers and athletes at times of being supported and recognized as athletes, as people.
Todos los atletas tiene excelentes y motivadoras historias en donde algunos sus orígenes son terroríficos que les hicieron conocer la lucha por vivir a muy temprana edad, ellos tuvieron la posibilidad de rodearse de personas que nunca los dejarían solos y que de alguna forma u otra estarán con ellos en cada una de sus victorias, no solo en el deporte sino en la vida en si, estoy completamente seguro que cada una de sus historias hace que sea muy motivador y conmovedor este documental, me gusto el hecho de mostrar el largo camino que se ha tenido desde antes de los primeros juegos oficiales en Holanda en los años 60' hasta el que por ahora es el último de los juegos en Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, es la forma perfecta de mostrar al público en general de lo fuerte y decidido que son todos los involucrados, muestra una lucha constante para realizar cada juego, que cada atleta este cómodo , pero lo mas importante es la lucha contra personas que quieran desaparecer estos juegos, esta es una de las cosas que hacen que sea mejor este documental, porque denuncian los atropellos hacia los organizadores y atletas en momentos de ser apoyados y de ser reconocidos como deportistas, como personas,
My only complaint with this documentary is that there are no Latin American athletes, that was very nice to see, I hope that there will be another opportunity where they will continue to focus on the growth of each of these people showing that they change the world as Sir Ludwig Guttmann did more than 40 years ago when he gave the opportunity to each person affected by a disability to be known as a citizen. I recommend watching this documentary, it is one of the best I have seen this August and hopefully it will be a new beginning for this sporting event, that it will be broadcast just like the Summer Olympics, it is time to see the heroes compete.
Mi única queja de este documental es que no hay atletas latinoamericanos, eso me fuera gustado mucho de ver, espero que haya otra oportunidad donde se siga enfocando en el crecimiento de cada uno de estas personas demostrando que cambian al mundo como lo hizo Sir Ludwig Guttmann hace ya más de 40 años cuando les dio la oportunidad a cada persona afectada por una discapacidad de ser conocido como ciudadano. Recomiendo ver este documental, es de lo mejor que he visto en este mes de agosto y ojala que sea un nuevo comienzo para este evento deportivo, que sea transmitido de igual forma que son la Olimpiadas de verano, es hora de ver a los héroes competir.
