Hello Hivers, today I want to talk about a film that was 10 years old from its premiere in theaters, the film that deserved more recognition for its originality, good music, great cast of young actors and great vision of its director and screenwriter by bringing an excellent story based on a comic book (with much influence in manga) to the movies.

Hola Hivers, hoy quiero hablar sobre un film que hace días cumplió 10 años de su estreno en los cines, el film que mereció más reconocimiento por su originalidad, buena música, gran reparto de actores jóvenes y gran visión de su director y guionista al llevar una excelente historia basada en un comic (con mucha influencia en manga) al cine.
"Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" is an excellent film, I have it as one of the best adaptations of a comic book to the movies and although it is not based on a video game, I must say that they have done a great job showing that world in the big screen. I think that by the year 2010 it should have had much more impact that it seems to have had in the following years, at the time it was considered a great loss for "Universal Pictures" since at the time the production had a cost of 85 million dollars and only collected the figure of 48 million dollars, the marketing did not work, although it was released in all of Europe, in Latin America it was only released in Mexico and Brazil without reaching even a million dollars between the two countries, I think this must be one of those films that unfortunately enters that list badly promoted by the distributors.
"Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" es excelente film, la tengo como una de las mejores adaptaciones de un comic al cine y aunque no es basado en un juego de vídeo, debo decir que han llevado lo que hecho un gran trabajo mostrando ese mundo en el cine. Creo que para el año 2010 debió tener mucho más impacto que parece ha tenido en los años siguiente, en su momento se consideró una gran pérdida para "Universal Pictures" ya que en su momento la producción tuvo un costo de 85 millones de dólares y solamente recaudo la cifra de 48 millones de dólares, el marketing no funciono, aunque fue estrenada en toda Europa, en Latinoamérica solo la estrenaron en México y Brasil sin alcanzar ni el millón de $ entre los dos países, creo que esta debe ser una de esas películas que lamentablemente entra en esa lista mal promocionadas por los distribuidoras.
But let me tell you why this film is excellent, first it is a film directed by the English director Edgar Wright, if I talk about his previous works where we have mainly the first two films of the so called "Cornetto Trilogy" and already with that for me it was enough to see the film, but not only that, I think that having a young cast of well known actors and others not so well known, but as I said before, everything from the vision of Wright, who knows how to tell stories with his way of using the camera and editing which for me is something extremely important in this story where we can go from a room to a desert or even a concert with just a blink of an eye.
Pero déjenme decirles el por qué este film es excelente, primero es una película dirigida por el director inglés Edgar Wright, si hablo de sus trabajos anteriores donde tenemos principalmente a los dos primeros films de la llamada "Trilogía del Cornetto" y ya con eso para mí era suficiente para ver el film, pero no solo eso, creo que al contar con un joven cast de actores conocidos y otros no tanto, pero como dije antes, todo desde la visión de Wright, quien sabe cómo contar historias con su forma de usar la cámara y edición que para mí es algo extremadamente importante en esta historia en donde podemos pasar de un cuarto a un desierto o a hasta un concierto con tan solo un abrir y cerrar de ojos.
But a director's vision would not work if there is not a good script and this film has it, this was co-written by Wright, together with Michael Bacall, who would later write the scripts for Project X, 21 Jump Street and 22 Jump Street, Between the two of them did their best to summarize the six volumes that make up the comic created by Bryan Lee O'Malley, the writers focused on showing in a more direct way the life that the character of Scott leads after a terrible breakup, living life one day at a time without responsibility and being the bass player of a band , But everything will change when he meets the woman of his dreams with a tumultuous past that will follow her wherever she goes, all this will give us fun and realistic situations that we live as teenagers and even beginning our adulthood, we see that in a very well directed and written first act of the film because in the second and final we see how responsibility and maturity are the phases that "Scott" must face and not be easy because he will see that it will hit him very hard that will be difficult (but not impossible) to get up.
Pero la visión de un director no serviría sino hay un buen guion y esta película lo tiene, este fue co escrito por Wright, junto a Michael Bacall, quien después escribiría los guiones para Project X, 21 Jump Street y 22 Jump Street, entre los dos hicieron lo mejor para resumir los seis tomos que componen el comic creado por Bryan Lee O'Malley, los guionistas enfocados en mostrar de forma más directa la vida que lleva el personaje de Scott después de una terrible ruptura, viviendo la vida un día a la vez sin responsabilidad y siendo el bajista de una banda , pero todo cambiara cuando se encuentre con la mujer de sus sueños con un pasado tumultuoso que la perseguirá a donde vaya, todo esto nos dará divertida y realista situaciones que vivimos de adolescentes y hasta comenzando nuestra etapa de adultos, eso lo vemos en un muy bien dirigido y escrito primer acto del film ya que en el segundo y definitivo vemos como la responsabilidad y la madurez son las fases que"Scott" debe enfrentar y no sea fácil porque vera que lo golpeara muy fuerte que será difícil (pero no imposible) de levantarse.
The casting manager should have a great recognition for his great work, in this group of actors we see how even though there are many who had starred in big productions, they participated in this film with roles that despite being small were very important, most of these actors were around their 20-30 years of age, for me this was perfect because I think that each one is related to what these people can live doing that necessary jump to start a life of adults, Every single one of his performances are fun, none of them did a bad performance, Chris Evans, Brandon Routh and Jason Schwartzman, I can say that his characters have a similarity to being arrogant and louts, but for me they are part of the best, like Michael Cera, sometimes his performances can feel repetitive, but it's a fun job how he personifies his character both in scenes with his different and fun dialogues or in the fight scenes that for me he does a great job. Mary Elizabeth Winstead is special, she has the necessary attitude to be the woman of anyone's dreams, independent and strong and not only her but the role of Brie Larson, sexy and cruel, the first work I saw of this actress, is one of the best of the film and is that both female and male characters are very well played and written.
El encargado del casting debería tener un gran reconocimiento por su gran trabajo, en este grupo de actores vemos como a pesar de que hay muchos que habían protagonizado grandes producciones, participaron en este film con roles que a pesar de ser pequeños fueron muy importantes, La mayoría de estos actores estaban alrededor de sus 20-30 años de edad, para mí esto fue perfecto porque creo que cada uno está relacionado con lo que pueden vivir estas personas haciendo ese salto necesario para comenzar una vida de adultos, cada uno de sus actuaciones son divertidas, ninguno de ellos hizo un mal desempeño, Chris Evans, Brandon Routh y Jason Schwartzman, puedo decir que sus personajes tienen un parecido al ser arrogantes y patanes, pero para mí son parte de los mejores, igual el de Michael Cera, algunas veces sus actuaciones pueden sentirse repetitivas, pero es un divertido trabajo el cómo personifica a su personaje tanto en escenas con sus diferentes y divertidos diálogos o en las escenas de pelea que para mí hace un gran trabajo. Mary Elizabeth Winstead es especial, tiene la actitud necesaria para ser la mujer de los sueños de cualquier persona, independiente y fuerte y no solo ella sino el rol de Brie Larson, sexy y cruel, el primer trabajo que vi de esta actriz, es de lo mejor de la película y es que tanto personajes femeninos y masculinos están muy bien interpretados y escritos.
Since the celebration that the director of this film did gathering all the cast 4 days ago in his Twitter account where in a series of tweets he shows images of the shooting that had not been seen, I just thought because it was not accepted by the public, I think that people who have an adult life accepted much more this story than young people to whom this story was focused, for me it had everything to be a great success, very good music, very good characters, all are excellent, good performances, funny with great dialogues, good cinematography, good use of the video game world, but what I like most is the way it tells a story about how a horrible breakup can affect the future relationships we can have and how a young person must accept that he or she is no longer a child and that it's time to behave as an adult and accept the responsibilities of our actions, it's a serious subject in a fantasy world and it's something that is difficult for some people to relate to, but I think it's well done, discovering responsibility and respect for other people as well as ourselves, all without putting aside things that amuse us like music and video games. If you haven't seen Scott vs the world, I think this is a good time, I recommend it with a lot of confidence, see one of the best films about comics.
Desde la celebración que hizo el director de este film reuniendo todo el cast hace 4 días atrás en su cuenta de Twitter donde en una serie de tuits muestra imágenes del rodaje que no se habían visto, solo pensaba porque no fue aceptada por el público, creo que personas que tienen una vida de adulto aceptaron mucho más esta historia que personas jóvenes a las que se enfocaba esta historia, para mi tenía todo para ser un gran éxito, muy buena música, muy buenos personajes, todos son excelentes, buenas actuaciones, divertidas con grandes diálogos, buena cinematografía, buen uso del mundo de los vídeo juegos, pero lo que más me gusta es la forma de contar una historia sobre como una horrible ruptura puede afectar las futuras relaciones que podemos tener y de como un joven debe aceptar de que ya no es un niño y que es la hora de comportarse como adulto y aceptar las responsabilidades de nuestros actos, es un tema serio en un mundo de fantasía y es algo para algunos difícil relacionar, pero creo que está bien hecho, descubrir la responsabilidad y el respeto para otras personas como para nosotros mismo, todo sin dejar al lado cosas que nos divierten como la música y juegos de vídeo. Si no han visto a Scott vs el mundo, creo que este es un buen momento, la recomiendo con mucha seguridad, vean a uno de los mejores films sobre comics.
