Once años después Ghostface regresa para dejar una senda de cadáveres en Woodsboro... "SCREAM"
En 1997 con el estreno del primer film de "Scream" sentí que este género era algo que me faltaba por explorar, desde ese momento me volví fan de los Slasher y es el tipo de terror que más me gusta de ver; esta película dirigida por el gran _**Wes Craven**_ me abrió la puerta a una serie de films que son muy divertidos con no solo excelentes villanos sino con muy valientes heroínas, "The Final Girls", pero también creó de que fuera muy exigente con las secuelas las cuales al primer momento sentí que nunca estuvieron al nivel de la primera, sin embargo al verla muchos años después, respeto mucho las decisiones que fueron tomadas por guionistas y directores, aprendí a valorar y entender ciertas cosas como la tercera parte que originalmente era la que menos me gustaba y ahora entra en la lista de los Slashers que más me gusta de ver y es por eso que con esta nueva oportunidad de traer a uno de los villanos icónicos en la historia del cine y con los sobrevivientes más duros en el terror, pensé que no había ningún problema en ver esta quinta secuela de esta franquicia la cual es de mis favoritas

In 1997 with the release of the first "Scream" film I felt that this genre was something I had yet to explore, from that moment on I became a fan of Slasher and it is the type of horror I love to watch the most; this film directed by the great _**Wes Craven**_ opened the door to a series of films that are very funny with not only excellent villains but with very brave heroines, "The Final Girl", but also created that I was very demanding with the sequels which at first I felt that they were never at the level of the first, however seeing it many years later, I respect a lot the decisions that were taken by screenwriters and directors, I learned to value and understand certain things like the third part which originally was the one I liked the least and now it enters the list of the Slashers that I like to see and that is why with this new opportunity to bring one of the iconic villains in the history of cinema and with the toughest survivors in horror, I thought there was no problem to see this fifth sequel of this franchise which is one of my favorites.
En "SCREAM" veremos la historia de cómo un grupo de jóvenes serán el objetivo principal del famoso "Ghostface" mientras cada uno va cayendo por cada ataque realizado por este asesino implacable, Samantha "Sam" Carpenter junto a la ayuda del experimentado Dewey Riley, deberán resolver el misterio de quién será la próxima víctima y quién es el asesino; toda esta investigación hará que haya nuevas reglas y nuevas revelaciones que hará que sea más difícil de sobrevivir.
In "SCREAM" we will see the story of how a group of young people will be the main target of the famous "Ghostface" while each one is falling for each attack made by this relentless killer, Samantha "Sam" Carpenter with the help of the experienced Dewey Riley, must solve the mystery of who will be the next victim and who is the murderer; all this investigation will make new rules and new revelations that will make it harder to survive.
Esta quinta película dentro de esta franquicia es la primera que no es dirigida por Wes Craven, recordemos que lamentablemente hace siete años del fallecimiento de este maestro del terror y es por eso que la pareja de directores Matt Bettinelli-Olpin y Tyler Gillett encargados de dirigir esta nueva película decidieron hacer un excelente homenaje a la visión de Craven manteniendo el humor y terror en muchas de sus escenas; justamente creo que al hacer un homenaje al trabajo de este reconocido director pensaba que sería algo que pudiera tal vez favorecer su trabajo, pero al mismo tiempo afectar a lo nuevo que querían mostrar; sin embargo, pienso que existe un buen balance entre estas dos características en este film, por ejemplo en muchas escenas existe el suspenso necesario para crear el ambiente de intriga y también existe la violencia desenfrenada en cada ataque, creo que lo gráfico en esta franquicia se ha visto en el primer y en el cuarto film y me alegro el ver qué en este relanzamiento se tome en cuenta y se muestre lo despiadado de este asesino.
No solo en la dirección hace homenaje al primer film de esta franquicia; en el guion realizado por James Vanderbilt y Guy Busick se toma en cuenta todo lo hecho en las cuatro anteriores películas y creo que esto es algo que me gusta en toda esta saga Slasher porque sería fácil hacer que en diferentes lugares siempre habrá alguien quien copia a los asesinatos originales sin tener ninguna conexión a la historia original y creo en esta oportunidad la conexión es igual de fuerte a como siempre ha sido en esta historia y hasta creo que da una evolución o hasta puedo decir respuesta del porqué sigue sucediendo estos ataques después de tantos años, pero hay algo que hace especial está quinta parte y que es lo que me ha gustado y es que es más un "Meta Movie" de lo que fue la hecha en 1997, no solo hace referencia a todo lo que se ha hecho en el cine de terror en todos estos años si no habla de la evolución de los fans para bien o para mal y de cómo se toma muy en serio este hermoso arte de hacer cine y esto es un gran acierto porque crea una gran posibilidad de explotar está historia aún más.
This fifth film in this franchise is the first one that is not directed by Wes Craven, let's remember that unfortunately it has been seven years since the death of this master of horror and that is why the pair of directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett in charge of directing this new film decided to make an excellent tribute to the vision of Craven keeping the humor and terror in many of his scenes; I just think that by doing an homage to the work of this renowned director I thought it would be something that could perhaps favor his work, but at the same time affect the new thing they wanted to show; However, I think there is a good balance between these two characteristics in this film, for example in many scenes there is the necessary suspense to create the atmosphere of intrigue and there is also the unbridled violence in each attack, I think the graphic in this franchise has been seen in the first and fourth film and I'm glad to see that in this relaunch is taken into account and show the ruthlessness of this killer.
Not only the direction pays homage to the first film in this franchise; in the script made by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick it takes into account everything done in the previous four films and I think this is something that I like in all this Slasher saga because it would be easy to make that in different places there will always be someone who copies the original murders without having any connection to the original story and I think this time the connection is just as strong as it has always been in this story and I even think it gives an evolution or I can even say answer to why these attacks still happen after so many years, but there is something that makes this fifth part special and that is what I liked and that is that it is more of a "Meta Movie" than the one made in 1997, it not only makes reference to everything that has been done in horror movies in all these years but it also talks about the evolution of the fans for better or worse and how this beautiful art of making movies is taken very seriously and this is a great success because it creates a great possibility to exploit this story even more.
Cuando debo ver films dentro del género de los Slashers, trato de enfocar en su protagonista más que en los demás personajes porque todos cumplen con el cliché de ser el sexi o el cómico o el precavido/miedoso, el valiente, el novio, está es una regla que en Scream se cumple muy bien y hasta debo sumar de que cada uno son potencialmente sospechosos de ser el asesino; con esto dicho cada uno de los actores que hacen presencia en este film cumplen con su rol sea de forma breve o extensa dependiendo de su importancia en esta historia. Aparte de este nuevo cast y a pesar de siempre hacerme la pregunta de quién de los tres sobrevivientes originales morirá primero, me alegro que en este relanzamiento estén presentes nuevamente porque los considero importantes tanto como lo es la imagen de Ghostface, en principal me sorprendió el regreso de Nave Campbell como "Sidney Prescott", para mí este personaje es un claro ejemplo de la evolución de ser una Final Girl y pienso que todavía puede demostrar más por quién representa en esta historia y eso lo puede hacer más fuerte de lo que ella es haciendo a su vez que el asesino sea aún más peligroso y un rival más difícil de vencer.
When I have to watch films within the slasher genre, I try to focus on the main character more than the other characters because they all fulfill the cliché of being the sexy or the funny or the cautious/fearful, the brave, the boyfriend, this is a rule that in Scream is fulfilled very well and I must even add that each one is potentially suspected of being the killer; with this said each of the actors who make presence in this film fulfill their role either briefly or extensively depending on their importance in this story. Aside from this new cast and despite always making me wonder who of the three original survivors will die first, I'm glad that in this relaunch they are present again because I consider them important as much as Ghostface's image is, in main I was surprised by the return of Nave Campbell as "Sidney Prescott", for me this character is a clear example of the evolution of being a Final Girl and I think she can still show more for who she represents in this story and that can make him stronger than she is making in turn the killer even more dangerous and a more difficult opponent to defeat.
SCREAM es un buen nuevo comienzo para esta franquicia, las revelaciones son cruciales porque existe un gran potencial con respecto a lo que podemos ver en la próxima secuela ya confirmada; la unión de personajes nuevos como de los tres originales es un buen trabajo y no puedo decir que en esta oportunidad funcionó de mejor forma que en la cuarta parte porque creo que no existen fallas en ninguna de estas historias y esto lo digo porque los motivos que tienen cada uno de los asesinos en esta franquicia son muy bien desarrollados, muy actuales para cada momento y sé que se puede discutir el hecho de que en cada una de estas películas el cliché es algo que se sobreexplota, pero en una historia la cual se debe respetar las reglas para sobrevivir es claro que para hacer films dentro de esta saga se debe seguir respetando dichos parámetros aunque pienso que tanto los directores y guionistas de esta quinta parte están dispuestos a profundizar aún más en la mente del asesino y crear unas nuevas reglas a seguir y sobrevivir y a pesar de que me ha gustado y entretenido como fiel seguidor de todo lo que envuelve a esta saga puedo considerar que se pudo hacer mejor en varios aspectos, pero para ser sincero tal vez su fidelidad a ese trabajo hecho por Craven en 1997 haya frenado la visión de los nuevos directores y guionistas, pero al mostrar cosas muy importantes para esta historia tengo expectativas con respecto a lo que pueden lograr porque se habré una puerta grande de posibilidades que espero que hagan en la próxima secuela que parece que se empieza a ganar en verano de este año y que seguro será estrenada el año próximo. Para finalizar quiero decir que un film dónde se expone las reglas para sobrevivir a una historia Slashers, yo tengo una nueva regla la cual es más nunca ver un trailer, teaser, imagen, nada con respecto a la próxima película porque siempre hay algo que pueda arruinar el film así que si quieren disfrutar de esta saga pongan en práctica está regla y vean a una buena franquicia del terror.
SCREAM is a good new beginning for this franchise, the revelations are crucial because there is a great potential with respect to what we can see in the next sequel already confirmed; the union of new characters as the original three is a good job and I can't say that this time it worked better than in the fourth part because I think there are no flaws in any of these stories and I say this because the motives of each of the killers in this franchise are very well developed, very current for each moment and I know you can discuss the fact that in each of these films the cliché is something that is overexploited, but in a story which must respect the rules to survive is clear that to make films within this saga must continue to respect these parameters but I think that both the directors and screenwriters of this fifth part are willing to delve even deeper into the mind of the killer and create new rules to follow and survive and although I liked and entertaining as a faithful follower of everything that surrounds this saga I can consider that it could be done better in several respects, but to be honest maybe its fidelity to the work done by Craven in 1997 has slowed down the vision of the new directors and screenwriters, but by showing very important things for this story I have expectations about what they can achieve because it opens a big door of possibilities that I hope they do in the next sequel that seems to start to win in summer this year and will surely be released next year. To finish I want to say that a film where the rules to survive a Slashers story are exposed, I have a new rule which is never see a trailer, teaser, image, nothing about the next film because there is always something that can ruin the film so if you want to enjoy this saga put into practice this rule and see a good horror franchise.
