En este 2021, le he prestado más atención a las series pertenecientes al MCU que a las películas estrenadas, no tengo duda que al sentirme exhausto después de ver "Endgame" y que tanto filmes como "Far From Home" y "Black Widow" no me parecieron buenas películas, seguramente tuvieron que ver qué me enfoque en estas cortas historias sobre héroes que no tenían una importancia dentro de The Avengers; a esto sumo que era mejor pasar el tiempo y poder disfrutar de estas historias en la comodidad de mi hogar, evitando sentir grandes expectativas y solo esperar que estás nuevas películas sean mejores de las últimas estrenadas en este extenso universo cinematográfico basado en héroes de comics.

In this 2021, I have paid more attention to the series belonging to the MCU than to the movies released, I have no doubt that feeling exhausted after watching "Endgame" and that both films like "Far From Home" and "Black Widow" did not seem to me good movies, surely had to do what I focus on these short stories about heroes who did not have an importance within The Avengers; to this I add that it was better to pass the time and enjoy these stories in the comfort of my home, avoiding to feel great expectations and just hope that these new movies are better than the last ones released in this extensive cinematic universe based on comic book heroes.

"Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" primera película de artes marciales en el MCU, película de orígenes de un personaje que no es tan conocido por el público en general, una gran oportunidad para Marvel Studios de dar importancia a una comunidad muy grande en el mundo y dar a conocer a un nuevo héroe; en esta película veremos (como dije antes) no solo el origen de un héroe sino el origen de la primera organización criminal que se hizo presente en el MCU, "The Ten Rings", veremos qué han sido parte de la historia del mundo por años, siempre dirigido por alguien el cual es reconocido por muchos nombres, un conquistador siempre sediento de poder y que gracias a la fuerza que ha obtenido por 10 misteriosos anillos; está historia es importante porque de él proviene el héroe que conoceremos como "Shang-Chi" un joven que por la pérdida de su madre hará todo lo posible por ganar el reconocimiento de su padre así sea transitar un camino oscuro, pero que al final no le evitará rechazar en lo que se ha convertido y es por eso que huye olvidando toda responsabilidad, toda importancia que tiene para dos mundos, pero el pasado no puede dejarse atrás y cuando se hace presente, será el momento de crecer y enfrentar a un fuerte enemigo.
"Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" first martial arts movie in the MCU, movie of origins of a character that is not so well known by the general public, a great opportunity for Marvel Studios to give importance to a very large community in the world and to introduce a new hero; in this movie we will see (as I said before) not only the origin of a hero but the origin of the first criminal organization that became present in the MCU, "The Ten Rings", we will see what have been part of the history of the world for years, always led by someone who is recognized by many names, a conqueror always thirsty for power and that thanks to the strength he has obtained by 10 mysterious rings; this story is important because from him comes the hero that we will know as "Shang-Chi" a young man who for the loss of his mother will do everything possible to win the recognition of his father even if it is to travel a dark path, but that in the end will not prevent him from rejecting what he has become and that is why he flees forgetting all responsibility, all importance he has for two worlds, but the past can not be left behind and when it becomes present, it will be time to grow up and face a strong enemy.
El tener pocas expectativas sobre algunas películas me ha llevado a no saber absolutamente nada sobre varios proyectos antes de poder verlos, esta es una de esas oportunidades, ya que no sabía nada sobre el director y coguionista de este film; este es el primer trabajo que veo de Destin Daniel Cretton, personalmente creo que hizo un gran trabajo en las muchas escenas de acción que muestra el film, claramente son el punto fuerte de esta historia y que haya un gran número de este tipo de escenas es algo que hace muy divertida y entretenida; a pesar de contar con un gran trabajo de CGI, el trabajo de cámara en muchas escenas es muy bueno, creo que Cretton cuido de cada detalle en cada escena de acción, en cada pelea y eso hace que sea un buen film de artes marciales.
La historia fue escrita por Cretton junto a Dave Callaham y Andrew Lanham, no es para nada original, se explora problemas familiares, relación entre padre e hijos, la presión por cumplir un destino o por tratar de alcanzar la imagen de grandeza o importancia que tienen los padres, pienso que esas características junto a lo que puede llegar una persona hacer para huir de responsabilidades, es lo que más me ha gustado del guion, el cual lamentablemente no escapa de la agenda impuesta por Marvel para que en todas sus películas existan esa unión evidente, claro que al parecer al MCU esto es obligatorio, pero creo que hubo cosas que pudieron manejarse de mejor forma, pero aparte de eso y como dije antes, vemos esa ruptura entre padre e hijos por un horrible trauma el cual no será fácil de solucionar y desencadena toda esta historia.
Having low expectations about some movies has led me to know absolutely nothing about several projects before I get to see them, this is one of those opportunities, as I knew nothing about the director and co-writer of this film; this is the first work I see from Destin Daniel Cretton, personally I think he did a great job in the many action scenes that the film shows, clearly they are the strong point of this story and that there are a great number of this kind of scenes is something that makes it very funny and entertaining; despite having a great CGI work, the camera work in many scenes is very good, I think Cretton took care of every detail in every action scene, in every fight and that makes it a good martial arts film.
The story was written by Cretton together with Dave Callaham and Andrew Lanham, it is not original at all, it explores family problems, relationship between father and sons, the pressure to fulfill a destiny or to try to reach the image of greatness or importance that parents have, I think those characteristics together with what a person can do to escape from responsibilities, is what I liked most of the script, which unfortunately does not escape the agenda imposed by Marvel so that in all their films there is that obvious union, of course it seems that the MCU this is mandatory, but I think there were things that could be handled better, but apart from that and as I said before, we see that break between father and son by a horrible trauma which will not be easy to solve and triggers this whole story.
Tal vez las actuaciones sea el punto débil de este film, en realidad pienso que el desempeño actoral de Simu Liu, no sea el mejor, con esto no digo que en las escenas de acción él es deficiente porque sería una gran mentira, al contrario, en cada una de las peleas, hace un excelente trabajo, es un gran artista marcial y luce en cada una de esas escenas, sin embargo en las que necesita mostrar diferentes sentimientos, creo que muestra ineficiencia, no es para nada expresivo y eso se nota, es opacado por varios de sus compañeros como Tony Leung quien hace del padre de Shang-Chi o de Meng'er Zhang quien interpreta a "Xu Xialing" la cual es mi personaje favorito; estos dos actores muestran más emoción de lo que hace Liu en toda la película y es que hasta Awkwafina luce de mejor manera en las muchas escenas que tiene en este film.
Perhaps the performances are the weak point of this film, actually I think that the acting performance of Simu Liu, is not the best, with this I am not saying that in the action scenes he is deficient because that would be a big lie, on the contrary, in each of the fights, he does an excellent job, he is a great martial artist and shines in each of those scenes, However in the ones where he needs to show different feelings, I think he shows inefficiency, he is not expressive at all and it shows, he is overshadowed by several of his co-stars like Tony Leung who plays Shang-Chi's father or Meng'er Zhang who plays "Xu Xialing" which is my favorite character; these two actors show more emotion than Liu does in the whole movie and even Awkwafina looks better in the many scenes she has in this film.
Disfrute mucho de Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, es un divertido y entretenido film, buenas escenas de humor, excelentes escenas de acción, muy bien filmadas y con muy buenas escenas de peleas, las coreografías son de lo mejor, siempre he dicho que no es difícil tener de protagonistas en un film de artes marciales a personas que sepan de artes marciales, no solo los protagonistas de la película sino las personas que están encargadas de crear las escenas de peleas, tener un tiempo adecuado para prepararlas, entrenar y así cuando sea el momento de filmarlas queden tal como se ven en este film; Shang-Chi me pareció un agradable personaje, su historia de origen muestra a alguien que todavía le falta por recorrer un largo camino para ser considerado un héroe, seguramente en futuras películas se desarrolle más al personaje y está historia pone las bases para que eso ocurra, pero lo que más me gustó de este film es que respondió mis expectativas, las cuales era bajas, pero si por casualidad esperaba un gran film sobre este héroe de Marvel, seguramente me sentiría igual porque en realidad es un gran film de acción; ahora solo queda esperar a la secuela (ya confirmada) y posiblemente una serie en dónde se explore más la historia tanto de Shang-Chi y Xu Xialing.
I really enjoyed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, it is a fun and entertaining film, good humor scenes, excellent action scenes, very well filmed and with very good fight scenes, the choreographies are the best, I have always said that it is not difficult to have as protagonists in a martial arts film people who know martial arts, not only the protagonists of the film but the people who are responsible for creating the fight scenes, have adequate time to prepare them, train and so when it is time to film them are as seen in this film; Shang-Chi seemed to me a nice character, his origin story shows someone who still has a long way to go to be considered a hero, surely in future films the character will be developed more and this story lays the groundwork for that to happen, but what I liked most about this film is that it answered my expectations, which were low, but if by chance I expected a great film about this Marvel hero, I would surely feel the same because it is really a great action film; now we can only wait for the sequel (already confirmed) and possibly a series where the story of both Shang-Chi and Xu Xialing will be explored more.
