Un editor con 3 historias, 3 artículos que serán parte de la última edición de... "The French Dispatch"
_**Wes Anderson**_ ha dirigido y escrito dos películas las cuales considero que son de las que más me gustan, "The Royal Tenenbaums" (2001) y "Isle of Dogs" (2018); he visto otras más, pero las dos antes citadas muestran lo mejor de este director el cual tiene una forma particular de crear excelentes imágenes acompañadas de una gran narrativa, por esto siempre he pensado que _**Anderson**_ es uno de los mejores aunque sé que muchos pensaran que sus trabajos son repetitivos, pero creo justamente eso lo hace crear una gran expectativa en las personas como yo que nos gusta su forma de trabajar, es por eso que después de un largo tiempo, de alargar la fecha de estreno de su último film, por fin pude ver lo que posiblemente sea la historia más simple, pero a la vez un gran film.

An editor with 3 stories, 3 articles that will be part of the latest issue of... "The French Dispatch"
_**Wes Anderson**_ has directed and written two films which I consider to be among the ones I like the most, "The Royal Tenenbaums" (2001) and "Isle of Dogs" (2018); I have seen others, but the two mentioned above show the best of this director who has a particular way of creating excellent images accompanied by a great narrative, this is why I have always thought that _**Anderson**_ is one of the best although I know that many will think that his works are repetitive, but I think just that makes him create a great expectation in people like me who like his way of working, that's why after a long time, to extend the release date of his latest film, I could finally see what is possibly the simplest story, but at the same time a great film.
En "The French Dispatch" veremos la historia de cómo está conformado la sorpresiva última publicación de este magazine quien fue dirigido hasta su último día por "Arthur Howitzer Jr" un hombre que creyó y respetó siempre en su personal, a cada uno de los escritores con sus diferentes personalidades, creencias y modo de escribir, cada uno de ellos también respetaron sus reglas y es por eso que en este último e inesperado día, dan lo mejor de sí en tres artículos diferentes en dónde veremos el valor de Arthur como jefe, amigo, mentor y por supuesto el editor.
In "The French Dispatch " we will see the story of how the surprising last publication of this magazine, which was directed until its last day by "Arthur Howitzer Jr", a man who always believed and respected in his staff, each of the writers with their different personalities, beliefs and way of writing, each of them also respected his rules and that is why on this last and unexpected day, they give their best in three different articles where we will see the value of Arthur as a boss, friend, mentor and of course the editor.
Cómo dije anteriormente, Wes Anderson es un gran director y escritor y a pesar de que la base de esta historia la considere la más simple de las que ha dirigido y escrito, pienso que al hacer una antología, contar tres historias diferentes con muchos protagonista y con mucha libertad dentro de su especial forma de dirigir es donde está la verdadera valía de este film; en cada uno de las tres historias por supuesto tiene el mismo uso de cámara, la misma visión de un solo director y debo decir que en cada una de estas historias es importante su forma de crear escenas caricaturescas, divertidas, de acción y hasta por momentos imágenes tristes. Por momentos me llamó la atención que usará el gris en muchas de las escenas, siempre he visto el gran empleo de colores, fuerte que resalten siempre y hasta puede ser característico de sus personajes, pero esta vez no, hay momentos en dónde se le da mucha importancia al blanco y negro y siempre he creído que le da un toque de elegancia y en esta oportunidad no sería la excepción, creo que le da un toque de nostalgia por cómo se hizo el cine en sus comienzos.
Con respecto al guion, vaya sí que es un buen guion; son tres historias, tres relatos desde tres puntos de vista y escritas de manera diferente; a pesar de que todas estén enfocadas en el arte, como dije todas son diferentes por ejemplo la primera es sobre un artista, su musa y la libertad de dónde, cómo y cuándo hacer su arte; la segunda narra el poder de la escritura, de cómo mandar un mensaje rápido, fuerte, un mensaje que pueda unir en vez de separar, romper barreras de amor y edades; el tercero (el que más me gustó) habla de cómo descubrir una vocación, de saber que eres bueno en algo y por eso ser reconocido, tres historias con un gran mensaje sobre el trabajo que puede hacer un artista, sin importar cuál es el arte que enseña, solo la pasión que pone en cada uno de sus trabajos, la historia, el guion es lo que más me ha gustado.
As I said before, Wes Anderson is a great director and writer and even though I consider the basis of this story the simplest of the ones he has directed and written, I think that by making an anthology, telling three different stories with many protagonists and with a lot of freedom within his special way of directing is where the true value of this film lies; in each of the three stories of course has the same use of camera, the same vision of a single director and I must say that in each of these stories is important his way of creating cartoonish, funny, action scenes and even at times sad images. At times it caught my attention that he used gray in many of the scenes, I have always seen the great use of colors, strong that always stand out and may even be characteristic of his characters, but not this time, there are moments where he gives great importance to black and white and I have always believed that it gives a touch of elegance and this time would not be the exception, I think it gives a touch of nostalgia for how the film was made in its beginnings.
Regarding the script, wow it is a good script; there are three stories, three stories from three points of view and written in different ways; even though they are all focused on art, as I said they are all different for example the first one is about an artist, his muse and the freedom of where, how and when to make his art; the second one tells the power of writing, how to send a quick, strong message, a message that can unite instead of separate, break barriers of love and ages; the third one (the one I liked the most) talks about how to discover a vocation, to know that you are good at something and therefore be recognized, three stories with a great message about the work that an artist can do, no matter what art he teaches, only the passion he puts in each of his works, the story, the script is what I liked the most.
No es un secreto que en cada producción hecha por Anderson hay una gran lista de actores, en esta se encuentran varios que ya han trabajado anteriormente con él, actores como Adrien Brody, Willem Dafoe, Frances McDormand y algunos más, pero hay uno que pareciera que es obligatorio que trabaje en las peliculas de Wes, ese es Bill Murray y aunque interpreta a un personaje importante como es "Arthur Howitzer Jr.", su actuación es simple, tranquila, serena, conciliadora; el peso de la actuación lo tienen los demás en especial las de Benicio del Toro y la de Jeffrey Wright, ambos hacen un trabajo excepcional, sus personajes son especiales, Del Toro común artistas desquiciado que solo quiere amar y ser amado y por eso usa su arte para expresar tal vez la poca humanidad que tiene, es triste y a la vez divertida su actuación, sin duda una de las mejores, pero quién me ha sorprendido más es el trabajo de Wright, el personaje que interpreta, "Roebuck Wright", un periodista enfocado en las artes culinarias, alguien que descubre su vocación de una forma divertida y peligrosa, su actuación aunque se basa en la narrativa pienso que es perfecta y aunque calor que ambos trabajos se benefician mucho de la dirección y guion, pero estoy muy claro que cada actor le da un toque especial y personal a cada uno de sus actuaciones.
It is no secret that in every production made by Anderson there is a great list of actors, in this one there are several who have worked with him before, actors like Adrien Brody, Willem Dafoe, Frances McDormand and some more, but there is one who seems to be mandatory to work in Wes movies, that is Bill Murray and although he plays an important character such as "Arthur Howitzer Jr. "his performance is simple, calm, serene, conciliatory; the weight of the acting is on the others, especially those of Benicio del Toro and Jeffrey Wright, both do an exceptional job, their characters are special, Del Toro is a common deranged artist who only wants to love and be loved and therefore uses his art to express perhaps the little humanity he has, his performance is sad and funny at the same time, certainly one of the best, but who has surprised me the most is the work of Wright, the character he plays, "Roebuck Wright", a journalist focused on the culinary arts, someone who discovers his vocation in a funny and dangerous way, his performance although it is based on the narrative I think it is perfect and although heat that both works benefit a lot from the direction and script, but I am very clear that each actor gives a special and personal touch to each of his performances.
Hay algo que percibí al ver The French Dispatch y es que sentí muy personal a este film, sé que no soy ningún crítico profesional, ni periodista ni escritor, pero de alguna u otra manera, trato justamente de escribir sobre cosas que me gustan, trato de crear una conexión con las personas que les puedan gustar mi forma de escribir, de hacer alguna que otra reseña sobre series o películas y es por eso que me sentí identificado con esta historia y con varios de sus personajes, cada uno de ellos no es que compitan para hacerse notar o ser el mejor, al contrario, cada uno trata de transmitir en sus publicaciones, en su escritura relatos que puedan entretener y educar al que pueda leerlas y con esto no digo que en esta historia se hable de una superioridad del escritor, sino que son personas que sienten pasión por diferentes temas y que han encontrado una vía para poder expresar en la escritura lo que sienten, esto es lo que más me ha gustado sobre este film que ya puedo considerar como uno de los que más me gusta de Wes Anderson, creo que la narrativa junto a las grandes y hermosas imágenes, la creación de cada escenografía hace que este sea uno de los mejores films hechos por este director; lamento que con la venta de 20th Century Fox a Disney este gran proyecto se perdió de tener una mejor promoción y así poder ser reconocida por muchas más personas, es un claro ejemplo como grandes y poderosas productoras pueden tratar de matar el arte y por todo lo que se basa la historia de este film en dónde un pequeño magazine puede ser famoso mostrando lealtad entre su jefe editor y los escritores es lo que tal vez haga falta en el mundo del entretenimiento.
I know I am not a professional critic, journalist or writer, but in some way or another, I try to write about things I like, I try to create a connection with people who might like my way of writing, to make some reviews about series or movies and that is why I felt identified with this story and with several of its characters, each of them is not competing to be noticed or to be the best, on the contrary, each one tries to convey in their publications, in their writing stories that can entertain and educate those who can read them and with this I am not saying that in this story we are talking about a superiority of the writer, but they are people who are passionate about different topics and have found a way to express in writing what they feel, this is what I liked most about this film that I can already consider as one of those I like most of Wes Anderson, I think the narrative with the great and beautiful images, the creation of each scenery makes this one of the best films made by this director; I regret that with the sale of 20th Century Fox to Disney this great project lost the chance to have a better promotion and be recognized by many more people, it is a clear example of how big and powerful production companies can try to kill the art and for everything that is based on the story of this film where a small magazine can be famous showing loyalty between his chief editor and writers is what may be missing in the world of entertainment.
