En el mundo del cine siempre se ha explorado el tema de la paternidad, diferentes géneros siempre han usado ese tema como base de sus historias y personalmente puedo decir que en estas historias tiene mayor fuerza cuando son realizadas dentro del género dramático; la relación entre padres e hijos puede ser una lucha muy fuerte causada por diferentes factores externos e internos, este tipo de historias sin importar que la mayoría sean creadas desde la ficción, siempre hay un alto grado de realidad y pienso que eso es el gran impacto en el público cuando son historias bien escritas, dirigidas y con excelente actuación, tal como sucede en esta nueva producción de Netflix.

In the world of cinema has always explored the theme of parenthood, different genres have always used that theme as the basis of their stories and personally I can say that in these stories has greater strength when they are made within the dramatic genre; the relationship between parents and children can be a very strong struggle caused by different external and internal factors, these types of stories no matter that most are created from fiction, there is always a high degree of reality and I think that is the great impact on the public when they are well written stories, directed and with excellent acting, as happens in this new production of Netflix.
En "The Lost Daughter" veremos la historia de "Leda Caruso", una profesora universitaria de 48 años de edad que se encuentra en unas tranquilas vacaciones en Grecia, hasta que llega una numerosa, ruidosa, numerosa y agresiva familia, entre los integrantes de esta familia se encuentra Nina, una hermosa y joven mujer, madre de una niña de 3 años llamada Elena; en ese instante Leda comienza a ver la relación entre Nina y Elena y eso hace que comience a recordar su vida de madre a tan joven edad, esa posible obsesión trae de vuelta recuerdos que en realidad nunca la ha dejado en paz y la definen como la mujer que ahora es y por eso podrá tener problemas con las futuras relaciones que pueda experimentar.
In "The Lost Daughter" we will see the story of "Leda Caruso", a 48 year old university professor who is on a quiet vacation in Greece, until a large, noisy, numerous and aggressive family arrives, among the members of this family is Nina, a beautiful young woman, mother of a 3 year old girl named Elena; At that moment Leda begins to see the relationship between Nina and Elena and that makes her begin to remember her life as a mother at such a young age, this possible obsession brings back memories that have never really left her in peace and define her as the woman she is now and that is why she may have problems with future relationships she may experience.
Un factor importante y a la vez una de las cosas que me gustó de esta producción es las dos facetas que tiene Maggie Gyllenhaal, directora y guionista; en esta película significa su debut como directora y debo decir que hace un gran trabajo, me gustaron las tomas en el principio del film, su seguimiento al personaje de Leda, primero invadiendo el espacio del personaje con tomas muy cercanas para después expandir estás mismas tomas y darnos una perspectiva del toda la escena a esto le puedo sumar la siguiente forma de hacernos conocer a dos de sus personajes principales, hablo de cómo hacer un empeño de mostrar las figuras físicas tanto de Leda como Nina, esto es algo que me llamó mucho la tensión, pienso que le da mucha fuerza a cada uno de estos personajes, mostrando la hermosura de cada una de estas mujeres, su parte física para después adentrarnos en sus mentes; este ha sido un gran trabajo para Gyllenhaal en esta faceta cómo directora.
Con respecto al guion lo cual es lo que más ha gustado a todo el mundo del cine, hay que decir que está película es basada en una novela escrita en el 2006 por la novelista italiana Elena Ferrante, la cual ha escrito un número de novelas concluidas como "Novelas Napolitanas" las cuales tienen una versión televisiva en HBO en la serie "My Brilliant Friend"; ahora volviendo a lo que es el trabajo de la adaptación hecha por Gyllenhaal, creo que está es una poderosa historia en dónde una persona puede sentirse y definirse como muy egoísta, esto es porque puede tener todo lo quiera, pero siente que no es suficiente para satisfacer sus necesidades, es por eso que no tiene miedo en abandonar a quien más ama, es por eso que es exitosa en su trabajo porque tiene el poder de demostrar que es independiente, pero a pesar de los beneficios que puede tener por su forma de ser, creo que de igual forma es perseguida por todo lo que ha hecho en su vida, esto es lo que justamente sirve de base para todo lo que sucede en esta historia, en esta parte de la vida de Leda; la historia de esta mujer, en dónde en flashback nos da la todo lo necesario para saber del porqué de su comportamiento, de todas sus decisiones junto a las consecuencias, creo que esto sin ninguna duda es lo mejor del film.
An important factor and at the same time one of the things I liked about this production is the two facets that Maggie Gyllenhaal has, director and screenwriter; in this film means her debut as director and I must say that she does a great job, I liked the shots at the beginning of the film, her follow up to Leda's character, first invading the character's space with very close shots to later expand these same shots and give us a perspective of the whole scene to this I can add the following way of making us know two of her main characters, I talk about how to make an effort to show the physical figures of both Leda and Nina, this is something that called me a lot of tension, I think it gives a lot of strength to each of these characters, showing the beauty of each of these women, their physical part and then enter into their minds; this has been a great job for Gyllenhaal in this facet as a director.
Regarding the screenplay which is what the whole movie world has liked the most, it must be said that this movie is based on a novel written in 2006 by the Italian novelist Elena Ferrante, who has written a number of novels concluded as "Neapolitan Novels" which have a television version on HBO in the series "My Brilliant Friend"; now going back to what is the work of the adaptation made by Gyllenhaal, I think this is a powerful story where a person can feel and define himself as very selfish, this is because he can have everything he wants, but he feels that it is not enough to satisfy his needs, that's why he is not afraid to abandon the one he loves the most, that is why she is successful in her job because she has the power to show that she is independent, but in spite of the benefits she can have because of the way she is, I believe that she is also persecuted for everything she has done in her life, this is what serves as the basis for everything that happens in this story, in this part of Leda's life; the story of this woman, where in flashback she gives us everything we need to know about the reason for her behavior, all her decisions and the consequences, I think this is undoubtedly the best part of the film.
De los muchos trabajos que ha hecho la actriz Olivia Colman, solo he visto dos, uno es "The Father" y este film; en esta producción al tener más tiempo en escena al ser una versión del personaje principal, es algo que me gustó y mucho, es alguien que adora su soledad o aprendió a vivir de esta forma por todo lo que hizo en su juventud, esto al principio no lo sentimos o vemos, ya que en su actuación vemos cómo alguien tiene el control de su vida y como dije, le gusta la soledad, esa tranquilidad porque la hace disfrutar muchas cosas, ella es una mujer centrada que teme en algún momento perder el control y eso hace que en momentos sienta miedo y por eso puedo decir que es una mujer retraída; otro gran trabajo es el de Jessie Buckley quien hace una versión joven de Leda, me gustó que no se busque que ambos personajes muestren un gran parecido, es claro que Leda en el momento de tener 48 años es una mujer diferente a la que interpreta Buckley y pienso que eso le da mucha libertad en su actuación, la cual es alegre y triste, es fuerte y a la vez desgarrador porque al verla desprenderse de quién la ama es algo que lo hace con mucha naturalidad y sin resentimiento, ambas actrices hacen un gran trabajo.
Of the many works that the actress Olivia Colman has done, I have only seen two, one is "The Father" and this film; in this production having more time on stage being a version of the main character, is something that I liked and a lot, she is someone who loves her solitude or learned to live this way for everything she did in her youth, this at first we do not feel or see it, since in her performance we see how someone has control of her life and as I said, she likes solitude, that tranquility because it makes her enjoy many things, she is a focused woman who fears at some point to lose control and that makes her feel fear at times and that's why I can say that she is a withdrawn woman; another great work is that of Jessie Buckley who plays a young version of Leda, I liked that they do not look for both characters to show a great resemblance, it is clear that Leda at the time of being 48 years old is a different woman than the one played by Buckley and I think that gives her a lot of freedom in her performance, which is happy and sad, it is strong and at the same time heartbreaking because seeing her detach from who loves her is something that she does very naturally and without resentment, both actresses do a great job.
Disfrute mucho de The Lost Daughter, es un gran drama muy bien escrito, dirigido y actuado, es por eso que lo considero un gran film con una historia de base sobre cómo las personas están o no preparados para ser padres, para tener esa responsabilidad, es como si en varios momentos hiciera la pregunta ¿Ser padre o madre es para todos? O ¿En realidad quieres tener hijos? Hay personas que pueden ser sumamente egoístas o por tener problemas causados por traumas en su infancia y por eso no los hace estables para enfrentar la paternidad, ahora con todo esto no creo que está historia sea sobre una mala persona que no merece ser madre, al contrario, en esta historia se demuestra que cualquiera puede amar, que tendrá el momento para hacerlo y aunque cada día sienta la tristeza y la culpa por todo lo que ha hecho, seguro habrá momentos que sentirá que no solo puede amar sino que puede ser amada, esto es en parte de lo que trata esta historia, traumas del pasado que persiguen y te pueden alcanzar y eso hace que puedas tener un comportamiento nada bueno por ejemplo creer que todo lo que sucede a tu alrededor puedes relacionarlo con todo lo que has vivido, como ven la historia de estos personajes es fascinante, es lo primordial y junto al trabajo compartido entre Maggie Gyllenhaal y Olivia Colman hace que este film pueda dar alguna sorpresa en los primeros al cine.
I really enjoyed The Lost Daughter, it's a great drama very well written, directed and acted, that's why I consider it a great film with a base story about how people are or are not prepared to be parents, to have that responsibility, it's like at several points it asks the question Is being a parent for everyone? Or do you really want to have children? There are people who can be extremely selfish or have problems caused by trauma in their childhood and that does not make them stable to face parenthood, now with all this I do not think this story is about a bad person who does not deserve to be a mother, on the contrary, this story shows that anyone can love, you will have the time to do it and although every day you feel sadness and guilt for everything you have done, surely there will be times to feel that not only can love but can be loved, This is part of what this story is about, past traumas that haunt and can reach you and that makes you can have a not good behavior for example believe that everything that happens around you can relate to everything you've lived, as you see the story of these characters is fascinating, is paramount and along with the work shared between Maggie Gyllenhaal and Olivia Colman makes this film can give some surprise in the first to the cinema.
