Una joven mujer decidirá experimentar la vida sin importar las consecuencias... "The Worst Person in the World"
El mundo del cine es maravilloso porque nos puede dar historias de diferentes tipos, terror, acción, ciencia-ficción, dramas, comedias y biografías y en algunos casos puede unir cada uno de estos géneros y crear algo bueno o no; también existe algunos casos cuando vemos historias en dónde nos enfocamos en una historia en particular que podemos vernos identificados por experiencias vividas o porque creamos que alguien le puede suceder en el mundo real y eso hace que podamos conectar con estas películas, justamente eso me ha pasado con el film "Drive My Car" y al film que hago reseña en esta publicación, ambas son historias sobre el descubrimiento, la culpa (en algunos momentos) y las ganas de vivir sin depender de nada ni de nadie; estás son excelentes historias que rompen con una monotonía que algunas veces cansa en este gran entretenimiento que es el cine.

The world of cinema is wonderful because it can give us stories of different types, horror, action, science-fiction, dramas, comedies and biographies and in some cases it can unite each of these genres and create something good or not; there are also some cases when we see stories where we focus on a particular story that we can see ourselves identified by lived experiences or because we believe that someone can happen in the real world and that makes us connect with these films, just that has happened to me with the film "Drive My Car" and the film that I review in this publication, both are stories about discovery, guilt (at times) and the desire to live without depending on anything or anyone; these are excellent stories that break with a monotony that sometimes tires in this great entertainment that is the cinema.
En "The Worst Person in the World" veremos la historia de "Julie", ella es una joven e inteligente mujer que vive en Oslo, Noruega; ella estudia medicina aunque esa no fue su primera decisión y eso hace que no sea receptiva por todo lo que está aprendiendo, pero un día gracias a una revelación hace que su vida comienza a cambiar y es que desde ese instante Julie tomara una serie de decisiones que la llevarán a un camino de experiencia que la hará crecer como persona, lidiando con diferentes tipos de amor y de pérdidas que la harán sentir viva y porque no hasta satisfecha.
In "The Worst Person in the World" we will see the story of "Julie", she is a young and intelligent woman who lives in Oslo, Norway; she studies medicine although that was not her first decision and that makes her not receptive to everything she is learning, but one day thanks to a revelation makes her life begins to change and from that moment Julie will make a series of decisions that will lead her to a path of experience that will make her grow as a person, dealing with different types of love and losses that will make her feel alive and why not even satisfied.
Cuando veo filmes que no son tomados en cuenta para competir como los mejores, siento que se pierde validez a un premio; está es una opinión muy personal y seguramente habrá personas que no compartan mi opinión, pero existe muchos films en el mundo, mucha gente talentosa que hace un excelente trabajo en la dirección y escritura de un guion y que por ciertas decisiones de pocos (pero poderosos) dejan fuera a quienes merecen un reconocimiento como lo es una nominación a un importante premio del cine; el director Joachim Trier, quien tiene una trayectoria en el cine noruego, hace un excelente trabajo en enseñarnos la vida de Julie y es que desde la primera escena podemos ver la belleza y elegancia de este personaje y la belleza de la ciudad de Oslo que también es un importante personaje de esta historia; la fotografía es lo mejor y que es no existe una toma mala en este film porque todo es muy meticuloso bien hecho para que tengamos muy buena perspectiva de como el personaje se va sintiendo en varias etapas de su vida amorosa, por ejemplo en algunas escenas la veremos en un cuarto muy pequeño, cerrado y eso me hizo pensar de lo atrapada que se sentía en ese momento, en otros la veremos cómo escondida en la oscuridad y es cuando más afectada se ve porque no representa quién en realidad es y una que más me ha gustado (aparte de la primera escena) es la última en dónde es vista en un lugar controlado y lleno de luz; esas escenas que hasta pueden ser tan simple como ver a Julie correr por la ciudad de Oslo hacen que haya disfrutado mucho de este film.
El guion escrito por Eskil Vogt y Trier es muy inteligente; este film tiene uno de las mejores historias que he visto en este año y esto lo digo porque es una historia muy bien pensada y desarrollada, ya que en un primer momento al ver los primeros capítulos de los doce que conforman este film se puede tener la noción de ser una historia completamente feminista y a pesar de que existe la influencia del poder que tiene una persona, en este caso una mujer, al decidir experimentar con su vida hasta encontrar un verdadero sentido a lo que quiere ser, se puede tener esa definición, pero no hay que olvidar de que este es un film protagonizado por una mujer, pero por esto no lo considero que sea sean un film feminista porque justamente fomenta a crear un debate sano sobre cómo tantas mujeres y hombres deben lidiar con el feminismo; a parte de eso hay otros temas que son muy importantes como es la responsabilidad en una relación y la presión de la sociedad con respecto a cómo se debe vivir en pareja, la diferencia de cómo enfrentar ciertos temas cuando existe una diferencia generacional y algo que me ha encantado que es la necesidad del descubrimiento personal, la necesidad de ser amado sin tener ataduras, tomar decisiones y después lidiar con sus consecuencias, esas son cosas que me gustaron en esta historia y que posiblemente debió ser premiada como mejor guion original.
When I see films that are not taken into account to compete as the best, I feel that the validity of an award is lost; this is a very personal opinion and surely there will be people who do not share my opinion, but there are many films in the world, many talented people who do an excellent job in the direction and writing of a screenplay and that for certain decisions of few (but powerful) leave out those who deserve recognition such as a nomination for a major film award; The director Joachim Trier, who has a trajectory in Norwegian cinema, does an excellent job in showing us Julie's life and from the first scene we can see the beauty and elegance of this character and the beauty of the city of Oslo, which is also an important character in this story; the photography is the best and there is not a bad shot in this film because everything is very meticulous and well done so that we have a very good perspective of how the character is feeling in various stages of her love life, for example in some scenes we will see her in a very small room, In others we will see her hiding in the dark and that's when she is most affected because she doesn't represent who she really is and one that I liked the most (apart from the first scene) is the last one where she is seen in a controlled place full of light; those scenes that can even be as simple as seeing Julie running through the city of Oslo make me enjoy this film a lot.
The script written by Eskil Vogt and Trier is very intelligent; this film has one of the best stories I have seen this year and I say this because it is a very well thought out and developed story, because at first when you see the first chapters of the twelve that make up this film you can have the notion of being a completely feminist story and although there is the influence of the power that a person, in this case a woman, has when she decides to experiment with her life to find true meaning to what she wants to be, but we must not forget that this is a film starring a woman, but for this reason I do not consider it to be a feminist film because it encourages a healthy debate about how so many women and men must deal with feminism; apart from that there are other themes that are very important such as the responsibility in a relationship and the pressure of society regarding how to live as a couple, the difference of how to face certain issues when there is a generational difference and something that I loved which is the need for personal discovery, the need to be loved without being tied down, make decisions and then deal with their consequences, those are things that I liked in this story and possibly should have been awarded as best original screenplay.
Renate Reinsve quien ganó el premio a mejor actriz en el 2021 Cannes Film Festival, hace un trabajo excelente dando vida a "Julie", desde primer momento vemos cómo es una mujer que no quiere encajar en una sociedad y eso la hace sentir incómoda y a la vez con ganas de experimentar otras cosas; por esas necesidades es que está historia va mostrando una evolución de su personaje que nunca se siente conforme con nada y eso a la vez puede sentirse como una señal de inmadurez, pero creo que en realidad son cosas o etapas que debe experimentar para por fin sentirse cómoda consigo misma y eso lo consigue con diferentes experiencias, unas felices y otras tristes; esto que he descrito del personaje lo transmite desde la primera toma y es que con gestos, con una mirada, una sonrisa, Renate nos da mucho porque es una interpretación muy sentimental, no es alguien calculador y malo y es que por su actuación siento que es alguien que necesita ser amada y por eso toma muchas decisiones que tendrán diferentes consecuencias. Anders Danielsen Lie quien interpreta a "Askel" es otro de los personajes que admiro, alguien condicional, con ideas fuertes, con una vida hecha, sobreprotector y que justamente estás características puedan hacer sentir fuera de lugar a Julie; la actuación de Anders es muy pasional, sentimental, en partes conformistas y al final triste cuando debe dar su experiencia de vida a la mujer que ama, es muy buena actuación y gran compañero de Renate; entre ambos hay muy buena química y por eso se disfruta mucho de sus escenas.
Renate Reinsve who won the award for best actress at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival, does an excellent job giving life to "Julie", from the first moment we see how she is a woman who does not want to fit into a society and that makes her feel uncomfortable and at the same time wanting to experience other things; because of these needs is that this story is showing an evolution of her character that never feels satisfied with anything and that at the same time can be felt as a sign of immaturity, but I think they are actually things or stages that she must experience to finally feel comfortable with herself and that she gets it with different experiences, some happy and some sad; This is what I have described about the character, she transmits it from the first shot and with gestures, with a look, a smile, Renate gives us a lot because it is a very sentimental interpretation, she is not someone calculating and bad and from her performance I feel that she is someone who needs to be loved and that is why she makes many decisions that will have different consequences. Anders Danielsen Lie who plays "Askel" is another character I admire, someone conditional, with strong ideas, with a life made, overprotective and that just these characteristics can make Julie feel out of place; the performance of Anders is very passionate, sentimental, in parts conformist and at the end sad when he must give his life experience to the woman he loves, it is very good acting and great partner of Renate; between both there is very good chemistry and that is why their scenes are very enjoyable.
Disfrute mucho de The Worst Person in the World, a pesar de ser una historia contada desde el punto de vista de una mujer, creo que hay momentos en dónde podemos ver cuando existe la relación de Julie con sus parejas, más que nada en la intimidad, observamos como las necesidades de estos personajes son las mismas y cuando debe salir a luz y compartir con la sociedad todo cambia y afecta la vida de ambos y por eso comienzan los inconvenientes, justamente es esto lo que más me ha gustado del film porque yo como hombre me sentí identificado por las situaciones que viven estos personajes y eso es lo que hacer especial a esta historia que en sí es muy real; me gusta que se enfoque en una etapa de la vida en dónde la sociedad te reclama y obliga a tener muchas responsabilidades para que por fin seas reconocido como adulto y los que son adultos puedan aceptar los cambios que implementan las generaciones jóvenes para ser relevantes sin importar una forma propia de pensar; con esto repito lo inteligente y hasta puedo decir lo perfecto de su guion, lo hermoso de las imágenes, la buena dirección y la gran actuación de sus protagonistas, está película está un nivel superior de muchos films que he visto en este año y por eso la recomiendo por si no la han visto.
I really enjoyed The Worst Person in the World, despite being a story told from the point of view of a woman, I think there are moments where we can see when Julie's relationship with her partners exists, more than anything in the intimacy, we observe how the needs of these characters are the same and when she has to come out and share with society everything changes and affects the lives of both and that's why the inconveniences begin, this is exactly what I liked most about the film because as a man I felt identified by the situations that these characters live and that's what makes this story special, which is very real; I like that it focuses on a stage of life where society demands and forces you to have many responsibilities to finally be recognized as an adult and those who are adults can accept the changes implemented by the younger generations to be relevant regardless of their own way of thinking; with this I repeat how intelligent and I can even say how perfect the script is, how beautiful the images are, the good direction and the great performance of its protagonists, this film is a higher level than many films I have seen this year and therefore I recommend it in case you have not seen it.
