Hello Hivers, since I saw the series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", I've always been struck by stories where there is a fight between good and evil with demonic and angelic creatures and where there is always the human race in the middle, that's why series like "Angel", "Supernatural", "Charmed", "Grimm" and even "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina", I liked to see them because I always thought that they were entertaining even though later the protagonists will have to face the creature of the day or an evil that threatens the peace of the earth or of a small village with its inhabitants and that's why despite a quick promotion by Netflix to this new series, from the first moment I wanted to see if it shows something new or not.

Hola Hivers, desde que vi la serie "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", siempre me ha llamado la atención historias donde exista la lucha entre el bien y el mal con criaturas demoníacas y angelicales, siempre estando la raza humana de por medio, es por eso que series como "Angel", "Supernatural", "Charmed", "Grimm" y hasta "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina", me han gustado verlas y seguirlas porque siempre he creído que son entretenidas a pesar que después los protagonista deberán enfrentar a la criatura de turno o un mal que se acecha la paz de la tierra o de un pequeño pueblo junto a sus habitantes y es por eso que a pesar de una promoción rápida por parte de Netflix a esta nueva serie, desde un primer momento quería ver si muestra algo nuevo o no.
"Warrior Nun" will not be the best series released in 2020, but that does not mean that it is the worst, although its history is based on a comic book, this does not let it have something original and bold in a part of the ten episodes that make up this season and is that one of the best things about this series is how it is written, where it not only focuses on the eternal struggle between heaven and hell, but in it we can observe how intrigue, suspense and mystery accompany the supernatural and fantasy. This is a small series, you don't see that it has a big budget in the use of CGI and that can affect at some point the story, but its creators are not affected because in a big part is the story of each of its characters that gives strength to the series.
"Warrior Nun" no será la mejor serie estrenada en este 2020, pero eso no quiere decir que sea la peor, a pesar de que su historia es basada en un comic, esto no deja que tenga algo de original y sea audaz en una parte de los diez episodios que componen en esta temporada y es que una de las mejores cosas que tiene esta serie es como está escrita, en donde no solo se enfoca en la eterna lucha entre el cielo y el infierno, sino en ella podemos observar de como la intriga, suspenso y el misterio acompaña a lo sobrenatural y la fantasía. Esta es una serie pequeña, no se ve que tanga un gran presupuesto en el uso del CGI y eso puede afectar en algún momento a la historia, pero sus creadores no se ven afectados porque en una gran parte es la historia de cada uno de sus personajes lo que le da fuerza a la serie.
The most important thing about each of these stories described above is its main character or group of protagonists, this is something that should always be highlighted for these stories to have a good impact and I think that Warrior Nun has it, I will start talking about just the most important character, "Ava", played by the Portuguese actress Alba Baptista, this character must have one of the best stories ever written, a 19 year old girl who becomes quadriplegic at an early age due to an accident and dies suspiciously on her 19th birthday, but that doesn't stop her from being chosen to be the possessor of a power that goes beyond man's understanding and that will be used to confront evil wherever it comes from, Alba, does an excellent job of showing how naive, sweet, but very intelligent a girl is who discovers life right after she dies, This is very well interpreted, the narration of each event and the first time experiences in how to feel pain, love, fun, the use of drugs, fear, anger, responsibility and friendship is something that I liked very much both the character and the actress who gives life to it.
Lo más importante de cada una de estas historias antes descritas es su protagonista o el grupo de protagonistas, esto es algo que siempre debe resaltar para que estas historias tenga un buen impacto y creo que Warrior Nun lo tiene, empezare hablando justamente del personaje más importante, "Ava", interpretado por la actriz portuguesa Alba Baptista, sin duda este personaje debe tener una de las mejores historias escritas, una chica de 19 años que a causa de un accidente queda tetrapléjica a temprana edad y que al cumplir 19 años fallece de forma sospechosa, pero eso no evita que sea elegida para ser portadora de un poder que va más allá del entendimiento del hombre y que será usado para enfrentar al mal venga de donde venga, Alba, hace un excelente trabajo mostrando lo ingenua, dulce, pero muy inteligente chica que descubre la vida justamente después de morir, esto es muy bien interpretado, la narración de cada acontecimiento y las vivencias por primera vez en como sentir pena, amor, diversión, el uso de drogas, el miedo, rabia, la responsabilidad y la amistad es algo que me gustó mucho tanto del personaje como de la actriz que le da vida.
The other characters that accompany "Ava" are excellent, each of them serve to teach moments of fun as responsibility and friendship, others to teach the cruelty that lives in this world through the path of mistrust, most of them are well written depending on the different reasons they have to be or not at Ava's side, especially the character of "Sister Beatrice" played by Kristina Tonteri-Young, She can be a counter part of what Ava lives, she has never had the opportunity to express who she really is and only lives to serve, that has always been taught to her and that is where we see that part of the story of "Beatrice" is taken from the protagonist of the comic, "Sister Shannon Masters", is very similar and I think it is a good reference for the followers of "Warrior Nun Areala".
Los demás personajes que acompañan a "Ava" son excelentes, cada uno de ellos sirven para enseñar tanto diversión como responsabilidad y amistad, otros para enseñar la crueldad que vive en este mundo por la vía de la desconfianza, la mayoría de ellos están bien escritos dependiendo de los diferentes motivos que tengan para estar o no al lado de Ava, en especial el personaje de "Sister Beatrice" interpretado por Kristina Tonteri-Young, ella puede ser un contra parte de lo que vive Ava, nunca ha tenido la oportunidad de expresar quien en realidad es y solo vive para servir, eso le han enseñado desde siempre y es en donde observamos que parte de la historia de "Beatrice" es tomada de la protagonista del comic, "Sister Shannon Masters", es muy parecida y creo que es una buena referencia para los seguidores de "Warrior Nun Areala".
It is time to say that although I like how "Warrior Nun" is written and that several of its characters are very good, I think it is neither the best nor the worst series so far in 2020, I think all this is because in its first five episodes there is much to explore the experiences and discovery of the world by "Ava", perhaps this should have been faster and more focused on what should be told, This is practically the fault of the characters that are the first "friends" that Ava finds, who none of them contribute good performances or anything to the story, they are just part of the learning and discovery, I did not feel that Ava had an empathy with any of them or even with "JC" who should be important in this first half, but no, for me there is no chemistry as you can see with another character later in this season. I hope that in the next season the creators will have priorities such as action scenes and not so many filler scenes that will make this story boring.
Es momento de decir que a pesar de que me gusta como "Warrior Nun" está escrita y de que varios de sus personajes son muy buenos, pienso que no es ni la mejor ni la peor serie de lo que va del 2020, creo que todo esto es debido a que en sus primeros cinco episodios se da mucho por explorar las vivencias y descubrimiento del mundo por parte de su protagonista, tal vez esto debió ser más rápido y enfocarse más en lo que se debería contar, esto es prácticamente culpa de los personajes que son los primeros "amigos" que encuentra Ava, no aportan buenas actuaciones ni nada a la historia, son tan solo parte del aprendizaje y del descubrimiento, no sentí que Ava tuviera una empatía con ninguno ni si quiera con "JC" quien debería ser importante en esta primera mitad, pero no, para mí no existe la química como si se ve que ocurre entre la protagonista y otro personaje más adelante en esta serie, ojala que en una próxima temporada se tenga prioridades por ejemplo escenas de acción y no tantas escenas de relleno que podrán hacer aburrida esta historia.
This series has a lot of potential, I like that in its last five episodes they take such a bold leap in its history, quietly each of the revelations we observe could be the perfect "Cliffhanger" for a next season, but still I think this way of telling this season of "origins" for this character is something I had never seen, if the series had that impact in its first five episodes maybe it would have fallen in the last episodes, That's why I have faith that I can continue to enjoy this story and more so for what its writers, directors and actors can give, I like that they take topics from the desire to live and experience and in turn to have control and responsibility, to know who to trust, how the church can exploit an image or a power always to their preference, that technology at some point always wants to supplant the religious, that does not have a definite enemy and that makes humanity in the middle of a supernatural war and something important is that it emphasizes personal discovery. I think that if they put their minds to creating as good a scene of action (Beatrice has them) as they do in writing, maybe we'll have a better series in the future.
Esta serie tiene mucho potencial, me gusto que en sus cinco últimos episodios den un salto tan atrevido en su historia, tranquilamente cada una de las revelaciones que observamos pudieran ser el perfecto "Cliffhanger" para una próxima temporada, pero igual pienso que esta forma de contar esta temporada de "orígenes" para este personaje es algo que nunca había visto, si la serie hubiera tenido ese impacto en sus cinco primeros episodios tal vez al final se hubiera caído en los últimos episodios, es por eso que tengo fe de poder seguir disfrutando de esta historia y más por lo que se pueden dar sus guionistas, directores y actores, me gusta que se tomen temas de las ganas de vivir y experimentar y a su vez de tener control y responsabilidad, de saber en quien confiar, de cómo la iglesia puede explotar una imagen o un poder siempre a su preferencia, que la tecnología en algún momento siempre quiere suplantar a lo religioso, que no tenga un enemigo definido y eso hace que la humanidad este en el medio de una guerra sobrenatural y algo importante es que se hace hincapié en el descubrimiento personal. Creo que si le ponen empeño a crear tan buenas escena de acción (Beatrice las tiene) como lo hacen en la escritura, tal vez tengamos una mejor serie en un futuro.
