Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 10.jpg

After a six-year-long hiatus, season 10 of Curb Your Enthusiasm finally hit screens in all its ridiculous, ad-libbing glory.

Feeling slightly less like an anthology, this season follows Larry David's struggles of life while dealing with a fatwa placed on him during the previous season, in which he discussed his plans of creating a a musical called Fatwa on late-night television.

The events in the season still feel obscure, idiotic, and enjoyable to watch, but the comedy and twist-like endings in the episodes no longer feel as if they are on par with those of previous seasons; the comedy feels more so in the dialogue itself rather than the old-fashioned dialogue and entwined narrative that has you face-palming at Larry's dilemma as that famous music begins to play, and the credits begin to roll.

I believe that's mostly down to the fact that the episodes aren't as random as they used to be; there's an actual story playing out throughout the season that follows the fatwa. It's all a bit linear than what viewers are used to. Now, that isn't a negative thing at all, it's just a large step in another direction that can definitely be noticed. For a show that is in its tenth season, it's not that unexpected that it will start to try different things in order to remain unique and fresh, rather than fleshing out old ideas and stories that may seem a bit too familiar to previous ones.

The season, towards the end, starts to feel as if it's drawing in a conclusion, and if I hadn't known that another season was already on its way, I would assume that the show had finally told a story that finishes things up and finally lays down to rest. Given that it focused more on Larry than other characters, and with the narrative style, I wouldn't be surprised if Larry David really was slowly finding ways to bring the show to an end.
