The return of cinema amidst the political barbarian zombie's invasion!

And a premiering of a film! It is a miracle (like walking on water!). Tan Chui Mui goes full Bruce Lee (complete with Jeet Kune Do!) in being philosophical, spiritual, and is the protagonist in her own film.

Forget all the government's ever-changing, preaching slogans and fake unity propaganda (the latest one - Keluarga Malaysia!). From the start of Yasmin Ahmad's era, Malaysian cinema has been spewing out the message. And Barbarian Invasion 野蛮人入侵 is the latest.

The stereotype wall of language, skin color, and even religion has been kicked off!

The protagonist, Moon got a Malay son called Yu Zhou (which means Cosmos). Adnan (Bront Palarae) is also a Malay who speaks Mandarin and Kelantanese, which Moon understands. Also an Indian Buddhist monk (Mano Maniam)

Whaaaa! Watchaaa!! Down goes the stereotype wall! (again)

But this is not a war cry. More like a resistance. A rejection. A lamentation.

It is there on the poster. It is all over the film.

But the barbarian zombies get it not.

X

And cut! The seam between the two 'films' in this one film is done nicely.
