Pekak (Deaf)
spoiler alert
A daughter Dara (Sharifah Amani), who does not listen to her father. Her school friend Melor (Sharifah Sakinah) who does not listen to what being taught in school. Kamil (Iedil Putra) son of a rich VVIP, turn a deaf ear to the law. Azman (Amerul Affendi) only listen to his rock music and his inner lust.
Uda (Zahiril Adzim), a deaf, abandoned by his family when he was still a young kid, later being adopted by a drug lord and becomes a drug pusher.
Buat-buat pekak (turn a deaf ear)
Other than these youngsters who does not listen, another failure is of the government and the education system who also does not listen to them!
The whole plethora of pekak people. People with a pair of ears but never listen to what they hear. The result is the collapse of a generation, even Uda and Dara who tried their best not to be involved into the social mess.
Tak nak dengar (not listening)
The result is the beast that the whole mess produced in the end, Dara after going through all the shit, woke up from the coma smiling to the viewers. Yes we want to see her regain conciousness to feed a happy ending, get married with Uda bla bla blaa but Dara will not be the same. Uda even after re-gaining his hearing, the first things he heard was the sound of Dara being raped. Despite he re-gaining his hearing, the sound that coming into his ears are somewhat ironically...........deafening.
I love how complimentary colors being used in most of the night shots, (deep blue and purple) giving it an unreal feel, having the movie going around the world of drugs and its addiction, bringing people off the real world.
The 70s song by Othman Hamzah - Rintihan Hati coincidentally being listened by both Uda and Dara, as no one is basically listening to them saying no to all the shit. Despite Uda cant listen to the tunes, he can read and understand the lyrics!
Unlike Azman who listens to all the rock bands but never listen to what theyre actually saying! Great performance by Amerul Affendi and Zahiril Adzim I rate this gem 4/5. Go see it on NETFLIX!
