En la isla se cuestionan las expectativas que tiene la sociedad hacia ellas. Allí, se ven obligadas a establecer alianzas para sobrevivir. Pero no todo es lo que parece, hay indicios de que algo extraño sucede en esa isla, descubriéndose que por lo menos una de las naufragas está consciente de la verdad . Sin el consentimiento de las participantes, Gretchen Klein, la responsable del retiro femenino, quiere demostrar a través de un experimento sociológico que las mujeres son más capaces que los hombres. Ella ésta convencida de que todos los males de la sociedad tienen su origen en el patriarcado, piensa que la masculinidad es tóxica dado un terrible acontecimiento que le tocó vivir.
Estas sobrevievientes son rescatadas y recluidas en lo que aparenta ser un bunker, allí cuentan sus experiencia en la isla a un psicólogo y a un agente del FBI. Paralelamente, se va develando las motivaciones de Gretchen Klein y su interés en este experimento.
Una de las sobrevievientes logra escapar del cuarto en donde está recluida y descubre observando unos monitores algo sorprendente que genera suspenso y enganche para una próxima temporada.
La serie es distribuida por Amazon Prime Videos y se estrenó el 11 de diciembre de 2020, destacando las actrices Mia Healey, Helena Howard, Reign Edwards, Shannon Berry, Rachel Griffiths, , Sophia Ali,Sarah Pidgeon, Jenna Clause y Erana James.
Tras su visionado recordamos a películas como “El Show de Truman” de Peter Weir o “El Naufrago” de Robert Zemeckis, a la historia contada en el libro de William Golding “El Señor de las moscas” y a las series de televisión “Lost” y “Pretty Little Liars” y al reality Show “Survivor”.
El matriarcado se distingue por ser una Sociedad en donde las mujeres, presentan un rol preponderante desempeñando papeles importantes en lo económico, lo religioso, lo político y lo familiar. Aquí la autoridad es reconocida por consenso.
No puedo decir que un matriarcado haga que la sociedad mejore, o que el patriarcado sea el mal que corrompe la Sociedad pienso que debe existir equidad entre hombres y mujeres para que la Sociedad avance y se desarrolle sin agresiones ni descalificaciones entre los sexos. No confundamos matriarcado con feminismo, ya que el feminismo clama por la igualdad de derechos entre mujeres y hombres, no por la supremacía de los derechos de la mujer.
En lo particular recomiendo “The Wilds”, ya que no es la típica serie hecha para adolescentes. Técnicamente la serie está bien realizada, presentando una excelente fotografía, con un ritmo adecuado que la hace entretenida. Es una serie dramática que nos narra una historia en el cual se observa a través de flashbacks como son subestimadas las mujeres en la sociedad por: su condición social, su sexualidad, su comportamiento, su familia, su intelectualidad.
