Hello friends, welcome to my blog, a new series based on Neil Gaiman's comics, published in 1989 by DC Comics, was recently released, it is considered today as one of the best illustrated, most sophisticated and best written comic books. until now. Sandman began as a horror story that evolved into fantasy stories, mythology and contemporary elements. Hola amigos, bienvenidos a mi blog, hace poco se estrenó una nueva serie basada en las historietas de Neil Gaiman, publicados en 1989 por DC Comics, es considerada hoy como es uno de los libros de comics, mejor ilustrado, más sofisticados y mejor escrito hasta ahora. Como dato curioso, no fue hasta hace poco que finalmente se hizo una adaptación para llevarla a las pantallas, tanto en formato de película, como de serie. Sandman, comenzó como una historia de terror que fue evolucionando a historias de fantasía, mitología y elementos contemporáneos. La serie, que nos presenta la cadena de streaming Netflix, es la apuesta de sus creadores Neil Gaiman, David S. Goyer y Allan Heinberg, para dar a conocer el universo de Sandman y los eternos.

The first season is presented as the introduction to meet the eternals, headed by Sueño (Morfero), who is in charge of taking care of the kingdom of dreams, his brothers, Destino, Muerte, Destruction, Desire, Despair and Delirium, each one of them. They represent an impulse in the life of human beings and, therefore, what at some point they have. In each realm, the eternal ones, he has symbols that allow him to contact his brothers and create bridges to visit them throughout all of existence. The eternals are believed to be older than the earth and man. They think that they are known in other worlds and dimensions, in essence they are divine beings, who are linked to life.

La primera temporada se presenta como la introducción para conocer a los eternos, encabezado por Sueño (Morfero), quien se encarga de cuidar el reino de los sueños, sus hermanos, Destino, Muerte, Destrucción, Deseo, Desespero y Delirio, cada uno de ellos representa un impulso en la vida de los seres humanos y, por lo tanto, qué en algún momento tienen. Sandman and his brothers do not get along because each one is the opposite of the other, but they all physically resemble each other, although they also change shapes according to the person who sees them, which is why they are represented in different ways. In the first season we will only see some of his brothers in a fleeting way, as well as other characters such as: Lucifer and Constantine, the latter has his own comic, as well as a movie. Constantine, was made into a film and starred by Keanu Reeves, in 2005. Let us remember that Constantine is a powerful sorcerer who is in charge of protecting and keeping dark beings out of the human world, therefore, he has interacted with the eternal on occasions .
Sandman, y sus hermanos, no se llevan bien porque cada uno es lo contrario del otro, pero todos físicamente se parecen, aunque también cambian de formas de acuerdo a la persona que los ve, por ello son representados en distintas maneras. En la primera temporada solo veremos algunos de sus hermanos de manera fugaz, como también otros personajes como: Lucifer y Constantine, este último tiene su propio comic, además de película. Constantine, fue llevada al cine y protagonizada por Keanu Reeves, en 2005. Recordemos que Constantine, es un poderoso hechicero que se encarga de proteger y mantener a los seres oscuros fuera del mundo humano, por lo tanto, ha interactuado con los eternos en ocasiones.
One of the things that I love about this series and its characters is the symbolism it has of different religions, in addition to using mythology mixed with philosophy and fantasy, in a coherent way. The fight between Lucifer and Sandman, in chapter 4, for me, is the best of all this season. The series has not yet reached its full potential in my opinion, but this start has been solid and leaves you wanting to see the next season. With the introduction of the other brothers who have not yet appeared in the series, such as Destruction, the rebellious brother, who grew tired of what he caused and left his kingdom to learn how to create.
Una de las cosas que me encantan de esta serie y sus personajes, son el simbolismo que tiene de las distintas religiones, además de utilizar la mitología entremezclada con la filosofía y fantasía, de una manera coherente. La lucha entre Lucifer y Sandman, en el capítulo 4, para mí, es el mejor de todos en esta temporada. La serie aún no ha alcanzado en mi opinión todo el potencial que tiene, pero este comienzo ha sido sólido y deja con ganas por ver la siguiente temporada. Con la introducción de los otros hermanos que aún no han aparecido en la serie, como Destrucción, el hermano rebelde, que se cansó de lo que ocasionaba y abandono su reino para aprender a crear.

I hope that in the following seasons more will be delved into the eternals and their relationship. In this we met his little sister Death, who in the comic and the series is represented as a benevolent being that makes the transition of dying easier and not as we have seen in other series that represent him as a dark figure, which I particularly loved. . Once I heard, "Even in death there is beauty", it took me years to understand that phrase, but today I understand it, and I think it's true. We are taught to fear death, when it is something natural to be alive.
En este post les hablo más de los orígenes de Sandman y los eternos, porque no deseo hacer spoiler. Quiero que conozcan de donde vienen los personajes para que tengan un panorama más amplio de la serie, en que se basa. Espero que en las temporadas siguientes se ahonden más sobre los eternos y su relación. En esta conocimos a su hermanita Muerte, quién en el comic y la serie es representada como un ser benévolo que hace la transición de morir más fácil y no como hemos visto en otras series que lo representan como una figura tenebrosa, cosa que particularmente me encanto. Una vez escuche, “Hasta en la muerte hay belleza", me tomo años entender esa frase, pero hoy la entendiendo, y creo que es cierto. Nos enseñan a temer la muerte, cuando es algo natural del estar vivo.
Finally, talking about Sandman and the eternals would be a very long post, there are many details in this series of religious, philosophical, mythological and fantasy connotations, but seeing it reflected in the series and seeing them in a visual explosion, which I love. I hope that the seasons to come maintain and expand the details that we saw in this one that culminated, if so, I think it will become a cult series for all of us who love these issues. I highly recommend watching this series if you haven't seen it yet.
Finalmente, hablar de Sandman y los eternos, sería un post muy largo, hay muchos detalles en esta serie de connotaciones religiosas, filosóficas, mitológicas y de fantasía, pero verlo plasmado en la serie e ir viéndolas en una explosión visual, que me encanta. Ojalá que las temporadas que estén por venir, mantengan y amplíen los detalles que vimos en esta que culmino, de ser así creo que se convertirá en una serie de culto para todos aquellos que nos encantan estos temas.
