Hello friends, welcome to my blog, one of the topics that I like the most are the Nordics and their entire culture, that's why I'm a fan of all the movies, series and books that talk about the subject. Following the successful culmination of the History Channel series Vikings, based on the legends of Ragnar Lodbrok. Like many fans of the series, I thought that we would never see anything more from Kattegat and the clans, but thanks to the new spin-off created by Michael Hirst, "Valhall", the Vikings return 100 years after the adventures and conquests of Ragnar Lodbrok.
Hola amigos, bienvenidos a mi blog, uno de los temas que más me gustan son los nórdicos y toda su cultura, por eso soy fan de todas las películas, series y libros que hablen del tema. Luego de la exitosa culminación de la serie Vikingos de History Channel, basadas en las leyendas de Ragnar Lodbrok. Como muchos fans de la serie, pensé que no volveríamos a ver nada más de Kattegat y los clanes, pero gracias al nuevo spin-off creado por Michael Hirst, “Valhall”, regresan los Vikingos 100 años después de las aventuras y conquistas de Ragnar Lodbrok.
This new series of Vikings makes reference to the previous one but it is not a continuation, it is not Ragnar's children or his grandchildren or those of his friends, who appear in this new saga, it is totally different and with new characters. One of the main differences is that not being produced by the History Channel, which was careful to respect the history and legends of the Vikings, the new series is freer and does not have historical facts as such. For this reason we will see that this series is more directed to entertainment with scenes of incredible fights than to respect the events as they really happened, that said, this does not mean that this Netflix series is still magnificent and interesting.
Esta nueva serie de Vikingos nos hace referencia de la anterior pero no es una continuación no son los hijos de Ragnar o sus nietos o los de sus amigos, los que aparecen en esta nueva saga, es totalmente diferente y con personajes nuevos. Una de las diferencias principales es que al no ser producida por History Channel, que se cuido en respetar la historia y leyendas de los Vikingos, la nueva serie es más libre y no se a tiene a los hechos históricos como tal. Por esta razón veremos que esta serie es más dirigida al entretenimiento con escenas de luchas increíbles que por respetar los acontecimientos como realmente pasaron, dicho esto, no por ello esta serie de Netflix no deja de ser magnifica e interesante.
Vikings: Valhalla is a series led by a cast of extraordinary actors such as: Sam Corlett, Frida Gustavsson, Leo Suter, Laura Berlin, Caroline Henderson and Brandley Freegard, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, Pollyanna McIntosh, Asbjørn Krogh Nissen, David Oakes, Julian Seager , Pääru Oja, James Ballanger, Álfrún Laufeyjardóttir, Jack Mullarkey, Louis Davison, Ethan Dillon, Bosco Hogan, Jaakko Ohtonen and Mark Huberman, among others. That it had four directors who during the first season will be exciting us with each chapter of this incredible series by Michael Hirst.

The series starts when King Canute seeks revenge for the slaughter of the settlements in Saxon lands by the King of England, in his fight for this revenge he will unite all the Vikings, pagans and Christians to go to war and avenge their viking brothers. A series of ambitions and betrayals will make the destinies of the protagonists of this story change and their characters evolve during their path to the fight. With scenes of bloody and well-coordinated fights, we will see how battles are won or lost throughout the first season.
La serie arranca cuando el Rey Canute, busca venganza por la matanza de los asentamientos en tierras sajonas por parte del Rey de Inglaterra, en su lucha por esta venganza unirá a todos los Vikingos, paganos y cristianos para ir a la guerra y vengar a sus hermanos vikingos. Una serie de ambiciones y traiciones harán que durante su camino a la lucha cambien los destinos de los protagonistas de esta historia y evolucionen sus personajes. Con escenas de luchas sangrientas y bien coordinadas veremos como se ganan o pierden batallas a lo largo de la primera temporada.
I really liked how the characters are transformed with the fervor of the battle and they are changing, the photography, landscapes and costumes lead us to live that time, its customs, its culture. Something I love about the Vikings is that their women have the same rights as men at a time when women in other cultures were just an ornament or property of men. Fighting side by side with them in battle for their families, lands and what they believe in is one of the things I admire about them. When Christianity arrives in their lands and the conversion to Christianity, the decline of the Vikings will come and therefore the deterioration of their culture of equality.
Me gusto mucho como los personajes se van transformando con el fervor de la batalla y van cambiando, la fotografía, paisajes y vestuarios nos llevan a vivir esa época, sus costumbres, su cultura. Algo que amo de los vikingos es que sus mujeres tienen los mismos derechos que los hombres en una época donde la mujer en otras culturas era solo un adorno o propiedad de los hombres. El luchar con ellos en batalla lado a lado por sus familias, tierras y por lo que creen, es una de las cosas que admiro de ellos. Al llegar la cristiandad a sus tierras y la conversión al cristianismo, llegará el declive de los Vikingos y por ello el deterioro de su cultura de igualdad.
This decline and their struggles to conquer the enemy and then each other (those who were pagans against those converted to Christianity), will ultimately end them and this series shows us the beginning of the end of what they once were. So I invite you to see this wonderful series that has in its first season with its chapters a 10 on my scale.
Este declive y sus luchas por conquistar al enemigo y luego entre ellos (aquellos que eran paganos contra los convertidos al cristianismo), será al final lo que acabe con ellos y esta serie nos va mostrando el principio del fin de lo que una vez fueron. Así que te invito a ver está maravillosa serie que tiene en su primera temporada con sus capítulos un 10 en mi escala.
