I’ve seen so many movies over the years but when it comes to weird movies, I’ve seen a few. This series is actually one of the weirdest I have seen so far and funny enough, I could not even watch it to the end because of how disgusted and uncomfortable I was about the whole plot.
I always had to go and come back days after watching an episode before I’m able to watch another and even with that, I’m still not done with the 7 episodes after over 2 months . Maybe it might not be as weird as it is to me to you. But, let’s find out first.
THE PLOT
Donny, a young man in his late twenties travels all the way to London in hopes to build his career in comedy which has always been his life long dream. But as life has it, things happens and he somehow finds himself staying with his ex girlfriends mom in a mansion out of town while working as a bartender. In addition to these, he’s still pursuing his career in comedy but it isn’t really going as well as you might have imagine.
There’s weren’t that bad until one day, a plus sized woman in the person of the Martha walked into the bar he’s working at and ordered a Diet Coke which she didn’t even drink. Next thing he knew, she was going on and on and on about whatever was happening in her life. Martha made Donny to believe she was a lawyer who worked in a big law firm. But which lawyer isn’t able to pay for a diet coke at the bar?
The next day, Martha visits again and it was the same as the day before and before Donny could know what was going on, her visits became an everyday thing. It was more like she had little to nothing to do at her ‘law firm’. During her time at the bar, she would pass compliments here and there whole having chats with him until he closed from work even tough she claimed to be a busy person. Soon enough, Donny gives out his contact to Martha and that’s when all hell broke lose. She would bombard him with texts and emails which were about 80 of them a night and it’s all flirty messages.
Next thing Donny knew, this stranger started to follow him home from work without his knowledge. Little did he know he had a stalker on his hands until things got out of hand. Donny tries to get help from the police but he was laughed at and sent home.
Would Donny succeed in getting this stalker of a woman off his back or not? You’d have to find out.
MY THOUGHTS AND RATING
I’d rate this movie a 6/10 even though it’s a good one. I give it this rating because I didn’t really like the scenes in the show or maybe should I say the whole plot because it came off as too sensitive to me. I know people who loved this show so much but I guess it’s just not my type of movie.
However, if you’re looking to spice up your movie collection, this series is surely one you should see. Thanks for passing by.
