The movie started with a war between man led by King Uther Pendragon(Eric Baba) and mage, led by Mordred. Using the legendary great sword given to king Uther by Merlin, he defeated the sorcerer. Meanwhile King Uther's brother, Vortigern (Jude Law) led a coup against him. Using black magic, he sacrificed his wife for power so that he could over power Uther, he killed Uther's wife and defeated Uther and took over the kingdom, but Luther's son Arthur(Charlie Hunnam) escaped on a boat.
Arthur was found in the river by some prostitutes, he was taken it and was raised in the brothel. His childhood was rough, he was bullied, he picks pocket, he also learnt how to fight from George(Tom Wu). He grew up to be skilled fighter and man of the streets. Arthur and his friends confronts a group of vikings who treated one of the prostitutes badly, not knowing that the vikings were under the King Vortigern's protection. The brothel was raided by blacklegs, the king's soldiers leading Arthur to escape, but he was caught and put on a boat amongst other men his age. Apparently, a sword in a stone had appeared in the King's palace and men were taken to pull out the sword. Arthur was able to pull out the sword, revealing to Vortigern that he is King Uther's son. The king tried to kill him but Arthur was rescued by a Mage (Astrig Frisbey) sent by Merlin and King Uther's former general Sir Berdivere (Djimon Hounsou) and they all worked together to stop King Vortigern and save Camelot from his dark rule.

When the Mage war started at the beginning and his men tried to talk him out, he was seen to single handedly face the sorcerer. He also knew his brother was planning a coup against him but he didn't execute him. Arthur cared deeply for his friends and never abandoned the prostitutes that took him in. When the vikings treated the prostitute badly, he confronted them and forced them to pay hugely for her restitutions. After the assassination on the King failed, they were outnumbered by the blacklegs Arthur didn't want to see his friends die, so he found an escape route for them, though they refused to go but chose instead to stay and fight for him. Even when Arthur became King, he was shown to be a man of peace, by bringing the vikings together.
SEXUAL CONTENT None, except for a single scene where a man tried to kiss a prostitute but was interrupted by young Arthur. Vortigern was seen talking to naked women with various octopus tails.
SPIRITUAL CONTENT Vortigern sacrifices his wife and daughter to most hag's to become a demon knight. Mages have the power to control animals. When Vortigern tried to execute Arthur, the mage used her powers to make the animals to attack the blacklegs, there by saving Arthur. The sword have powers as it was made by Merlin. We also see tree creatures and a mermaid.
VIOLENT CONTENTS There was a whole lot of violence. The war at the beginning between mage and man. The coup planned by Vortigern against his brother, killing his wife and the people. The street fights amongst Arthur and his friends. The raid of the brothel by blacklegs. The assassination attempt on King Vortigern which led to the loss of two of Arthur's friends. The final battle between Arthur and Vortigern.

CRUDE/PROFANE LANGUAGE A single use of the f- word. God's name was abused once.
OTHER NEGATIVE ELEMENTS Vortigern is a power hungry man, he sacrificed his wife to become a demon knight and defeat King Uther, his brother. He got what he wanted and became king. But on the return of Arthur, he woul d have just retired but instead he sacrificed his only child, his daughter so that he could defeat Arthur but of course he lost. Little Arthur was athief as a little boy and growing up he was building a ring.
CONCLUSION Although this movie is nothing close to the Arthur stories I have heard, Guy have been able to carve out a niche for himself, the use of animals and other magical creatures is interesting. While the music was breathtaking, the CGI effects were a little bit exaggerated. The stars brings light to the movie, the constant humour of Humann and even the evil part of Jude Law. He just made evil look sexy and irresistible with a cold face and a pointed nose. Guy Ritchie's version of King Arthur is undeniably fun to watch and engaging.
I will give King Arthur 7/10.
