Everyone needs Love, even animals. In fact animals, when shown Love is more faithful than humans. Okja is a super pig, raised with love and care. But unknowing to the world, she is a product of science not nature though she is smart and loving with feelings of her own. She is a super pig, almost the size of a hippopotamus, in fact the owners believes she is capable of feeding a small European country.

Lucy Mirando, the Ceo of Mirando Corporation claims that 26 piglets was miraculously discovered somewhere in Chile, "mama nature's gift" as she calls them, but it was revealed to be a lie. These 26 piglets were distributed to local farmers in 26 different countries, to raise them according to the traditional farm methods unique to their individual countries, and after 10 years the super pig will be revealed to the world with one farmer, a winner. Lucy believed that this pigs will solve the hunger problems in the world and ofcourse they have to taste good. Okja was one of the piglets.

Mija is the 14-year-old granddaughter of one of Mirando's indigenous pig farmers, she cared for Okja since she was 4, she cared for Okja for 10 years in the mountains of South Korea and to her Okja is just to cute to eat. Mija and her grandfather lived on the mountains with no friends of neighbors around them, so of course Okja is the only friend she has. She even sleeps with her at night, with her fat and obvious soft body Okja cuddles Mija to sleep. What an adorable pair! They have an unbreakable bond. Mija asked her grand pa to buy Okja from the company and he said he did, so the poor girl was relaxed when some people from the company came to take Okja's measurement as well as her video with the face of the company Dr. Johny. Her grandpa tried to distract her, so that she won't know when Okja will be taken away. Her grandpa gave her a gift, a small golden pig statue, it was a traditional wedding gift but Okja is not ripe for marriage, he told her to stop hanging out with pigs and go to the village and find herself a man. But Mija wasn't convinced with her grandpa, he finally confessed to her that mirando wouldn't take his money, that Okja belongs to the company so they will do as they pleases with her.

Heartbroken, Mija ran across the world to get her best friend back. She doesn't care if it is owned by the company, she is not going to let her be eaten. She met a group of animal liberators on the way and they offered to help her get Okja back.

POSITIVE ELEMENTS

Okja is smart and loving, when Mija almost fell from the cliff, Okja grabbed the rope holding Mija to fling her to safety, even if it meant her falling off.

When Okja was taken by Mirando Corporation, Mija ran across country to bring her back. Her love for her pet knows no bounds.

The animal liberation organization knew about the origin of the 26 piglets, so they took it upon themselves to expose the Mirando Corporation and stop the world for consuming unhealthy foods. Their leader Jay is noble too, wants to use Mija to penetrate Mirando Corporation but he won't to anything without her consent.

Though her methods were wrong according to the movie, Lucy Mirando want to genuinely feed as many people as possible thus fighting hunger. As she was genuinely hurt when her employees in Korea abused Mija.

When Okja went wild in New York during the show as a result of the horrible treatment she received at Mirando, she knocked Mija down and attacked her. Jay came to her rescue, he grabbed a rod to hit Okja but Mija stopped him.

Mija's grandpa loved her very mush, he was there for her despite her running away.

SEXUAL CONTENT

Jennifer, one of the Mirando's executive wants to build a publicity story around Mija and Okja, and she describes Mija, who is just 14 years old as "sweet, cute, totally gorgeous, totally sexy, hot, tiny, perfect." But Lucy doesn't want to make the Same mistakes they did with the Asian models.

VIOLENT CONTENT

When Mirando Corporation took Okja, they interrupted by an animal liberation group, they wanted to kidnap Okja. But Okja heard Mija's voice in the crowd and while running towards her, she damaged cars and people got injured. Okja ran into a grocery store, destroying goods and she alsmost crashed into an old woman in a wheel chair.

When Okja saved Mija from falling from a cliff, she fell down the cliff herself and was bruised. Mija crashed into the door of Mirando Corporation when the executive refused to let her in.

Jay beat up K, one of his members after he confessed to lying about Mija's consent. He punched him continuously. The ALF have been seen beating up security agents.

Lucy's dad and twin sister, Nancy were described as psychopaths, it was even referenced that Nancy blew up a lake during her time as CEO.

Okja was violently mated by a super pig. She was scarred by the experience and during the show off, she pushed people aside including Mija. Mija witnessed the slaughter of pigs and the pigs were teriffied as they were led to slaughter.

After the Alf exposed a video of Okja treatment at Mirando's corp, the crown went wild beating up the Dr, Johnny. Private securities came, jay was beaten up mercilessly., and some people in the crowd were beaten up.

CRUDE OR PROFANE LANGUAGE

About 30 f-words and six s-words were uttered. We also hear "a--," "b--ch," "d--n" and "h---." God's name is misused about half a dozen times and Jesus' name is abused once.

DRUG AND ALCOHOL CONTENT

When Doctor Johnny Mija's family's mountain farm, he was thirsty and he snaps up a bottle of soju, a Korean alcoholic beverage and drank. Later, Doctor Johnny gets drunk and intoxicated that he attacked Okja.

Lucy and her sister, Nancy smokes cigarette, K lights a cigar for Jay too.

OTHER NEGATIVE ELEMENTS

Mija runs away from her home to rescue Okja against her grandpa's wish. She smashed her piggy bank and when he tries to stop her, she pushed him down.

Jay wants to penetrate the Mirando's corp and expose their crimes against humanity and animals using Okja, but he doesn't want to do it without her consent. Mija doesn't agree but K, lied and interpreted to Jay that she agreed, and Jay proceeded with their plans thinking Mija consented.

It was revealed that these pigs were not born naturally as Lucy claims, but were instead created in the lab as genetically modified creatures. Lucy confessed the 'white lies' in a private conversation with Frank.

CONCLUSION

I will rate Okja 8.5/10.

Okja tells so many stories in one. It's a tale of love and humanity. it’s an interesting plot and production worth seeing on a big screen, and it contains one of the most beautiful set-pieces I’ve seen, as Mija embraces Okja after she falls while saving her, as she sleeps under her and she ran she ran towards her in the street of Korea, the emotions are beautifully conveyed.

Bong was versatile in the selection of characters, a free spirit CEO with daddy issues played by Tilda Swinton, she made bring a villian look sweet. The over active Dr Johnny and the Scheming Frank. With a sense humour from this characters to engage the crowd, Okja was never boring. The settings is a sugar coat to the plot, the mountain top of Mija's home, keeping her away from the village and enhancing her bond with Okja. I don't care if it's a real mountain or not, its a beautiful setting.

Though, Okja is totally enjoyable, I won't give my full rating because there were loopholes in it. We were told that Lucy's predecessor were psychopaths without giving us an example or a scene to prove that. There was just a mention of Asian models but we don't know their relationship with the Mirando or the mistakes made. Secondly, Frank seemed close to Lucy and Nancy but we don't know the relationship between them. Is he a blood relation, or a family friend, it was not clear.

For the lovers of pork and animal food generally, Bong have passed the message without saying much. With Great visual and wonderful performances, Okja is worth the time, and it is Netflix's craziest so fa
