Animated movie lovers, here comes "Luca"
This movie makes me like animated movies more.
Let me say a little about the story: Luca was a sea monster. One thing about Luca is that he was curious about the human world.
When he met Alberto, another sea monster who had been living on his own, Alberto showed Luca that whenever they came out of the water, they would look just like humans. That gives Luca courage. Luca leaves the sea with Alberto, and they travel to Portorosso. Their dream is to get a Vespa, so they can travel around the world. But the plan wasn't exactly as they wanted. So they met Giulia. And she was preparing for a local race. And so the three of them became friends and decided to compete together. This is because Luca loves to experience things around the human world. But again, Luca also hides something: the fact that he is a sea monster. Luca actually needs to avoid water because water can transform him into the monster that he is.
This makes the movie very interesting because he can go back to the water, and he can also survive in the human world. There is a boy, Ercole. He always wins the race and humiliates people if possible. As the competition gets closer, Luca and his friends have to overcome Ercole. The friendship between Luca and Alberto was so real. At first, they were very close to each other, like brothers. But Luca was interested in knowing more about the humans.
And I learned something from this movie. Fear can actually stop someone from experiencing new things. Because in the movie, Luca has parents, and the parents were afraid of the humans, making sure that no one discovered their secret. The interesting part of the movie again is how Luca and Alberto were hiding their secret from humans. They go through difficulties.
Through their struggles, I learned that fear can stop someone from experiencing new things. In the movie, Luca was not scared, but Alberto was afraid of losing him.
The ending was emotional for me; I really cried 😢
When the race was ongoing, their secret was exposed. Everyone there knew they were sea monsters, and they were angry and decided to chase them away. But Giulia stood up for Alberto and Luca; she defended them as a friend, and I love that they didn't run away, but stood and faced the situation.
And so Luca and Alberto had to go their separate ways. After the race, Luca decides to go to school in Genoa with Giulia, while Alberto stays in Portorosso with Massimo and starts a new life with him. When Luca leaves by train, Alberto comes to say goodbye, and even though they are sad to separate, they are both happy about the new lives they are starting.
