Hey guys!
Daredevil season 3 has dropped on Netflix and I just started binging! Now I never planned on doing an episode by episode reveal for the season and I probably still won't, but I was so impressed by the first episode I just have to put something down!
Amazing writing! Kudos to the writers!!!

I must confess, after watching Defenders and knowing how much Matt's story in season 3 would derive from its ending, I had almost forgotten that Daredevil is a series on its own, with two seasons already in the bag. The first episode did a great job of reminding us exactly how much the series stands on its own, with storylines and character arcs continuing not really from Defenders (in which they all had to share Screen time with so many others), but from Daredevil Season 2. I almost stopped it to go back to that season, but it was just too compelling.
How Matt was brought back too was explained quite simply, and I totally loved it! His recuperation period and the character of Sis Maggie were awesome too. Though many may complain it dragged the season's pace, I think it was great to see how broken in body and spirit Matt really got and the reasons why. These reasons of course being Karen Page and Elektra, who he might have lost again just as they shared a final kiss. That the episode effectively spanned the entire period from the end of season 2 (through flashbacks) via the events of Defenders to the current time was also great. Nothing was left abandoned by the wayside.
I was also pleased to see that how important Fr. Lanton's character was in this episode. Yes, he has always been important in keeping Matt sane and religious, but this season, it seems he will be even more important than usual.

And Fisk. There's really no need for me to say this, but Vincent D'Onofrio is amazing. I can't wait to finish up the season and find out how it runs. In fact, I'm pretty sure I'll do it tonight!
I'd better get back to it. Stay tuned for my non-spoilery review, my full review and my character reviews!
