After Tsugumi Ohba's Death Note, another masterpiece by Naoki Urasawa in Psychological-Mystery genre is this anime called "Monster". The total number of episodes is 74. Which is twice as much as "Death note". This is an anime of mystery psycho thriller genre. For this it is worth seeing. I thought it was a very deep thought , now come with a little entertainment. However, the entertainment was not taken. In this too Deep Philosophical Matters had to face sapper.

!!SPOILER!!
The name suggests that there is a supernatural matter in it. But there is no such thing in it. The way the story is drawn here and the way the characters are portrayed is very realistic. Yet for the sound effects and its slow pace it is no less than any horror and thrilling anime. It will give you enough thrill even if it is realistic. And the reason is its twist on the plot and the central villain character.
This is a conflicting anime with two opposing characters' philosophies. The name of the hero in this anime is Dr. Tenma Keina is a specialist neurosurgeon and the villain is Johann Libert (although it is Not the real name !! The facts can be understood by watching the anime) and he is of extreme antagonistic and nihilistic nature. On the other hand. Tenma is a symbol of optimism and justice. But it so happened that one day two young boys and a girl were injured in the hospital where he was working. The boy was shot in the head. And the hero takes charge of this treatment. Since he is a very skilled surgeon he operated on the boy successfully.
But the tragedy happened and the boy suddenly disappeared from the hospital bed shortly after the operation and the girl who was there also disappeared. Everyone suspects that this is the work of the murderer, the murderer has kidnapped the boy and the girl. Then mysteriously 3 people died at the hospital. After these stories, the police investigation started and a skilled detective took charge of solving the case. In this case, the detective suspected on Tenma. Because one of the three people who died was the director of the hospital who said , Tenma conspired and was demoted from his post. And the reason for the demolition is that the two young boys, the director to operate on a mayor during the operation of the girl. Gave instructions. Now there were other doctors too but as the skill of the hero is at a critical level and if the mayor is treated then the reputation of the hospital will increase and donations will be available. This was the attitude of the director. But Dr. Tenma realizes this, and since he first gets the case of the two children, he disobeys the instructions and operates on the boy. As a result, he was demoted from his post. It also stopped the new research that the doctor was doing. And he had a love affair with the director's daughter, which also broke up. All in all, the anger and frustration was born. Tenma thinks, The detective took this as the motive of the murder. But even then, the matter was put on hold for about nine years due to substantial evidence and the presence of a doctor elsewhere at the time of the murder. And after these nine years, it is not seen to be so bad.
But after nine years. After the death of the new director came and said. Tenma regains his old position. Everything was going well, but then came the real twist of the incident.
Dr. After Tenma heals him, the thief who decides to tell the story of the murderer dies the same night as the guard who kept the murderer under surveillance, and the thief escapes in panic. Tenma chases the thief, and those nine-year-old memories come back.

The doctor then meets the villain. I didn't expect the villain to show up so soon. The villain then says he is the little boy that Tenma saved nine years ago with an operation. The murders that followed are his. Then Dr. Tenma's morality, Value begins to hunt him down.

He is a doctor, his job is to save people, but his saved man is doing these terrible things today. What he really did is right. Then he began to question the morality of the good and the bad in the pain of this conflict. He tries to stop the villain but in front of his eyes he kills the witness and leaves. And then the doctor was disappointed and told the detective everything. Tenma must have a double character. He is a good man in front of everyone but when his character wakes up, he kills and becomes a good man again.
The doctor then quit his job at the hospital and went out to look for the villain, wanting to kill him. He became a Most Wanted Criminal because of the suspicion of the police and his sudden disappearance. In this way, after fleeing as a criminal, all the more horrible information came out to find the villain and the secret organization came out. All the tragic and horrible information about the villain is coming out. And there are many more characters to be associated with it.
The main theme of this anime is the villain. This means that everything revolves around Johan. And this character is so beautifully portrayed that it reminds us of our inner emptiness, how helpless a person can be when he can't find the meaning of life, and how deadly the effect of wrong teaching can be on a child's mind. Johann is said to be a "pessimistic nihilist", a symbol of negative pessimism, and behind it is a huge influence on his past life that builds the character.

On the other hand, the doctor is optimistic that one day or another good days will come. All human beings have equal value in life. But Johann's idea is that man is empty, there is nothing here but death. So he wants to destroy everything, even himself.
In this way, the two ideas take us to the end of this anime and give a deep message. In addition to the heroes and villains, there are other characters in the anime - Detective Lunge, Eva Heinemann, Wolf Grimmer, Roberto, Nina, Dieter, France Bonaparta, and so on. Of these, our favorite character is Wolf Grimmer. And the most disliked is Roberto K. Detective Lung wasn't liked at first, but liked it later by me. I likes the villain too, but likes fear more than that. It's very normal to be such an emotionless villain, and not to speak like a cold knife. All in all, this anime was perfect.
In the end, this anime teaches us later on that we have to face an extreme emptiness at some point in our lives. And then some value for life or Meaning is needed which comes from ultimate love, comes from forgiveness, comes from above all conflicts.
Thanks for the reading.
