A inicios del siglo 20, nuestra protagonista comienza su historia trabajando en un recinto para orquestas. Debido a un incidente acaba siendo despedida, después de conocer a quien será su interés romántico del film, Frank Thomsen. Para rehacerse, decide 2 cosas: comenzar a trabajar en un cabaret como pianista y perfeccionar su habilidad con un profesor. En paralelo, su sueño, que iremos viendo como poco a poco se va convirtiendo en realidad, ser directora de orquesta. Por otro lado, tendrá problemas diversos, desde su relación con sus padres, con un secreto guardado, hasta el desdén de la sociedad a su sueño, teniendo que traspasar diversas barreras.
In the early 20th century, our protagonist begins her story working at an orchestra venue. Due to an incident she ends up being fired, after meeting who will be her romantic interest of the film, Frank Thomsen. To get back on her feet, she decides to do two things: start working in a cabaret as a pianist and perfect her skills with a teacher. In parallel, her dream, which we will see how it gradually becomes a reality, is to become a conductor. On the other hand, she will have various problems, from her relationship with her parents, with a kept secret, to the disdain of society to her dream, having to cross several barriers.
Aunque la historia trata de una directora de orquesta, no es un musical, si no un drama que muestra las peripecias de Antonia. Mostrando las injusticias que tenía que pasar para lograr su deseo. A su vez, tiene un toque de romance.
Although the story is about an orchestra conductor, it is not a musical, but a drama that shows the vicissitudes of Antonia. Showing the injustices she had to go through to achieve her desire. At the same time, it has a touch of romance.
El film es ligero, sus casi 2 horas y 20 min, pasan rápido. En los aspectos técnicos todo está ok, aunque siempre es entretenido ver los despliegues de una orquesta, y eso lo realizan varias veces. Tal vez el punto malo del título es que es hasta cierto punto predecible, pero aun así lo disfrutas por lo inspiradora que puede ser.
The film is light, its almost 2 hours and 20 minutes go by fast. In the technical aspects everything is ok, although it is always entertaining to see the displays of an orchestra, and this is done several times. Perhaps the downside of the title is that it is to some extent predictable, but you still enjoy it for how inspiring it can be.
Lo recomiendo a quien gusta de historias inspiradoras y ver cómo se gestan los cambios de valores en la sociedad.
