Netflix en los últimos años ha logrado algo que me era imposible antes(al menos de manera oficial), ver películas recién estrenadas en Japón, especialmente animes. Este es el caso de esta película que estrenó en Japón en octubre del año pasado y ya ha sido distribuida internacionalmente hace pocos días, por la plataforma. El director fue Takana Shirai.
Netflix in recent years has achieved something that was impossible for me before (at least officially), watch movies recently released in Japan, especially anime. This is the case of this movie that premiered in Japan in October last year and has already been distributed internationally a few days ago, by the platform. The director was Takana Shirai.
Sinopsis: Kanna es una niña que ha sufrido una gran pérdida hace un año, cuando su madre falleció. Luego de tener problemas en una maratón escolar, al escapar se percata de que el tiempo corre lentamente. Guiada por un conejo llamado Shiro, le informará que su madre se encargaba de recolectar ofrendas de los diversos dioses locales para presentarles en un festín Kamiari, de dioses. Kanna tendrá que tomar su lugar, mientras intenta alcanzar su propio objetivo.
Synopsis: Kanna is a girl who has suffered a great loss a year ago, when her mother passed away. After getting into trouble in a school marathon, when she escapes she realizes that time is running slowly. Guided by a rabbit named Shiro, she will inform her that her mother was in charge of collecting offerings from the various local gods to present to them at a Kamiari feast of gods. Kanna will have to take her place, while trying to achieve her own goal.
El tema principal es el ver el proceso por el que pasa la protagonista para sobreponerse de la muerte de su madre, así como reconectar con lo que le gusta. El problema con la trama es que si bien muestran un viaje por diversas locaciones, se siente rutinario, sin dinámica, muy lineal. Por otro lado, hay demasiadas explicaciones pausando la acción.
The main theme is to see the process the protagonist goes through to get over the death of her mother, as well as reconnect with what she loves. The problem with the plot is that although they show a journey through various locations, it feels routine, without dynamics, very linear. On the other hand, there are too many explanations pausing the action.
Creo que también que los personajes son muy planos, a excepción de la protagonista, no llegan a conectar. Al menos el tramo final, ya por los últimos 30 minutos, logran mejorar el ritmo y logran conectar mejor con las emociones de Kanna, incluyendo una buena canción.
I also think that the characters are very flat, with the exception of the protagonist, they don't connect. At least the final stretch, already for the last 30 minutes, they manage to improve the rhythm and manage to connect better with Kanna's emotions, including a good song.
Sobre la animación debo decir que en varios tramos se siente muy limitado. Averigue que este proyecto se realizó mediante crowdfunding, así que supongo que el presupuesto no permitió una gran inversión en este apartado.
About the animation I must say that in several sections it feels very limited. I found out that this project was made through crowdfunding, so I guess the budget didn't allow a big investment in this section.
En general, es una película regular, que si bien pudo tener una historia interesante por contar, sus diversas falencias en cómo manejaron la trama y la animación, no permiten hacerla brillar.
Overall, it is a regular movie, that although it could have had an interesting story to tell, its various shortcomings in how they handled the plot and animation, do not allow it to shine.
